Overall, we had a nice time. Enjoyed the fire pit and appreciated that firewood was provided, and really loved the screened in porch to sit outside without need for masks. Plenty of seating and plenty of space to spread out throughout. However, it wasn’t overall as clean as one would expect. There was no wifi (which I understand, just would have appreciated that noted somewhere) and the DVD player was ancient, so we had to go 40 minutes to Walmart to buy a Blu-ray player to play the movies we bought (after realizing there was no wifi and our Apple TV plan wouldn’t work). The upstairs bed was extremely noisy and uncomfortable and the pillows were so so thin. These are things you can easily replace for cheaply and make guests comfortable. I received what felt like 10 emails from the company in the 2 weeks prior to check in which was really annoying to keep track of, and they all seemed to include duplicate info. Every time I called the office (during open hours) during our stay, no one ever picked up
the phone. Eventually I used google voice, which allowed me to call from a “local” number, and they picked up immediately.
Overall we enjoyed our stay, and loved the closeness to town. But for the price, some of the amenities are worn out or outdated, and there was much left uncleaned for what seemed like a long time. Surface things are clean, but just don’t peek too closely elsewhere.
