My family appreciated the space the house provided for us to spread out, the proximity to the beach, and the quiet neighborhood. We were some of the first people to stay at the property for the summer season, so perhaps that's part of the reason why a number of issues cropped up... When we arrived, the mini splits were not working (no cooling function), and many of the windows were painted shut/screens broken, leaving us overly warm on our first night. The AC was fixed the next day after contacting the owners. Next, the dishwasher started leaking water and soap when we ran it. After calling the owners, they got a plumber in the same day to take a look and it was resolved. Finally, on our third night there at 11:45pm, every single fire alarm went off. We contacted one of the owners and it went to voicemail. We then called the fire department who advised us to evacuate the house. That meant waking up both of our small children and bringing them outside for 30+ minutes at midnight while we waited for the fire fighters to arrive and check the house. No leaks were detected, but the fire fighters determined the alarms were expired and likely the cause of them going off. We were told no one should sleep in the basement until alarms were replaced. Owner came next day and replaced all the alarms. It was frustrating and disruptive to have all of those issues come up, and it seems like owners could've prevented some of them. That said, the owners were very responsive.
