Weekend getaway
5 of us total, baggage storage location upon arrival, easy access to the house once the 4:00 check in time occurred, great location that made everything we wanted to do on the trip easy to access. Everything that was stated in the listing was accurate. Mary was so nice and accommodating, even offered to mail items that were left behind.

Pleasant Stay in August

Relaxing place
Second year in a row we’ve stayed here with the family, so we know what we’re getting. Location is a little out of town, but everything is very accessible by bike- beach downtown, Bartlett’s Farm (can’t be missed for sandwiches, pre made dinners, etc). Mary, the owner, is wonderful. A very relaxing place- we love it!

Perfect Family Location in Nantucket
We had a wonderful time staying at this property. Mary was a wonderful host and her home was perfect for our family of 5. It has all the amenities of home, is near bike trails and not too far from town. We used Clyde’s cab to shuttle around when needed. We would whole heartedly recommend Mary’s home to anyone looking to stay on Nantucket.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!!!!!!
We highly recommend this house to anyone who is looking for a place to stay on Nantucket! The location is great as well, minutes to the boat and to local shops grocery store etc.!! The hospitality and service you will receive at this home is top notch! I reached out asking if there was cable at the home, we were struggling to get it up and running( I am not a tech savvy person so I’m sure it was something super easy). Within seconds the homeowner reached out to tell us someone was on there way over. Within minutes the cable was up and running! The gentleman and son who showed up to take a look at the cable were super nice! Again I give this a 10 out of 10 for anyone that is looking for a place to stay

Weekend getaway
My friends and I stayed here for our friend’s wedding weekend. A lovely house, Mary was so communicative in the days leading up and the day of! Beautiful backyard with chairs to soak up the sun. Fully stocked kitchen as far as utensils, plates, cups, etc. 10 min walk to an adorable coffee and sandwich shop called Surfside

Fantastic stay
Wonderful family vacation! Great location to town and surfside beach You do need bikes as it is about a mile to town or you can always take an Uber. We hope to be back next year.

Relaxing Stay
Peaceful location about 7 minutes by car from the hubbub of Nantucket. A car of some sort is necessary if you stay at this location. Although we didn’t bring our personal car, transportation was no problem. We took a taxi from the dock to the property upon arrival in Nantucket, and again when it was time to return to the mainland. We Uber’d to and from town at other times. And we even took the island shuttle once to see how it operated. We really loved this cottage overall. We agree we would book it again and found it better than staying in the midst of the very crowded Nantucket village.

Not Cleaned - Location description questionable
When we arrived about 5PM the property had not been cleaned. Beds not made, dishes in sink, towels in bathroom, trash. Called owner. Sent cleaning person who arrived around 6PM - said would take 2 hours to clean. This was unacceptable as we were staying for just 1 night. Asked owner for refund - who said yes - and we found other accommodations. Mary called later and said to get a refund I needed to contact VRBO which I did. VRBO then told me the owner had to give the refund. Now Mary refuses to provide refund.

As you stated in your complaint to VRBO you arrived at 4:45. The cleaning people live around the block so they were there at 5. You left to go downtown. I called VRBO and they said the person who made the reservation had to cancel it. At that point i called you and told you that you had to cancel the reservation and you said you had a place downtown. At no point did i ever say i would refund you money. I did refund your $200 cleaning fee that you forgot to mention. I recommend that everyone read all my reviews and that will tell you all about me and the location of my property. Thanks Mary

Last minute booking
We always visit Nantucket every summer , unfortunately the Veranda House had a severe fire so we had to re book at the last minute . The property was in a great location , very nice quiet neighborhood close to Cisco beach and Bartlett Farms . My family had a wonderful stay and was gracious that the host Mary was able to accommodate my family of five !

Perfect quaint little cottage
This was perfectly tucked away in a quiet neighborhood. The house is a true antique, which is so charming! Easy to get to downtown via bike, which I would recommend renting on day one! We actually walked to the cottage off the ferry (with our luggage), doable, but I would never do that again 🤣 I would definitely stay here again!

Fabulous getaway!
The entire experience was amazing! Unfortunately our trip was cancelled on the first night due to weather but our host Mary was so very easy to work with she’s a peach! We finally arrived and were taken back at the beauty of the island it’s pristine! The property was exactly what my family was looking for, off the beaten path but near everything at the same time. Once we pulled up to this cozy little bungalow we immediately fell in love! Quaint, clean, and private! We can’t wait to return to the island thank you Mary!

Sweet private home on Nantucket
We enjoyed our 5 days on Nantucket at Mary’s property. The home was private and conveniently located both to town and many lovely beaches. We had a car which made getting around to the beaches easier (get your vehicle ferry reservation far in advance if you’re bringing a car!) but there is a shuttle system that works if you don’t have a car. House had what we needed - including an outdoor shower which we enjoyed! Mary was very responsive to questions as well! This is a great home if you want to get out of the hullabaloo of the main Nantucket village! Thanks Mary!

Quaint cottage
A nice quiet cottage for a small family stay. Everything we needed was available in the home to cook and relax. Beach chairs and cooler were available too - which was a bonus! Host was readily available to answer any questions. Nice area to bike around. We did rent a Jeep to get around town and used a taxi for trips downtown.

Girls Weekend
Mary’s home met our expectations for a girls getaway. Home was clean, huge kitchen and comfortable relaxing areas. Only disappointment was the main floor shower did not work and ladies on main floor had to use outside shower. Walk into town slightly greater than expected.

Cheryl, If you had let me know about the the shower the caretaker would have been right over. I can not do anything about something i do not know about. Sorry for the inconvenience. The walk to town was one mile and there is a shuttle bus at the top of Hussey Farm Rd. that stops every 15 minutes from 7am to 11pm. The walk to the top of the street is about 5 minutes. Glad to hear you enjoyed the house. Mary

Wonderful home on Nantucket

Amazing Nantucket Cottage
This cottage was a great place to stay and liked the walk to the different ponds around the block. Saw wildlife at the ponds and was easy to get to town. Beds were super comfortable and clean. Easy to get to places on Nantucket.

House was in a pretty good location but could use some updating. Had enough space and everything we needed. Cleaners arrived at 9:45 which was a little off-putting so make sure you leave on time!

Lovely Garden Cottage
Quaint, cozy cottage a short bike ride from town (we didn't need a car while on the island) and close to supermarket, 2-3 miles to ocean-side beaches via bike paths. Clean, comfortable, and well-equipped accommodations at a very reasonable price. Easy communication with owner, and would definitely consider a return visit.

Nice place but make sure you leave on time
Property was as described, no complaints. There is no A/C in the house (as with most properties on the island) although the house didn't seem to get great air circulation. During the day the upstairs was pretty hot and at night, not much better. Communication with the landlord was great, she made herself available and came off very kind until we left the property past the 10am checkout. Her cleaning crew originally showed up at 945am and left because they saw we were still there. Checkout time was 10am and we ended up leaving at 1015am and I got a very angry call from the owner yelling at me before I could even say a word. I get it, we didn't leave at 10am on the dot but cut us some slack. Unbeknownst to me one of the housemates had gone back to make a few work related calls and ended up leaving around 1030am. During that time the cleaning crew showed up again and instead just asking him to leave, decided to call the landlord so she thought we were still there. We weren't, we were all gone except for that one person. She again called me, angrier than the first time stating "I don't know who you are, or what you are but you're going to soon learn who I am very soon." I wasn't really sure what that meant, it sounded like it was from the movie Taken. She ended up taking $100 from our security deposit because of the inconvenience we had caused her. We decided not even to bother fighting it, cause it's wasn't worth the hassle. I get it, scenario wasn't ideal, and we weren't in the right, but it's summer in Nantucket she could have been nicer and I would have gladly given her more money than what she took from us for the trouble. In summary, nice place, but make sure you're out before 10am and re-watch Taken before arrival.

Hi Nate, I am very sorry you thought i had air conditioning but if you read my ad it stated i had 4 tower fans. I have checked back with people in July and the people that are there now and they are very comfortable with the fans so maybe you hit a heat spell. The cleaning service stated they arrived at 10:00am and someone in your party told them to come back at 11:00am. I called you at 10:20am and you said you were in an uber car and had left the house. The cleaning service went back and informed me people were still in the house. They said everyone was out of the house at 11;15am which meant i had to call the next tenants to inform them that they could not enter until 4:15pm and they were very gracious about the situation. . You asked me if you could enter before 3pm and i said no so i wonder how you would respond to a 4:15pm entry.. Nate i feel you were a really nice and professional person in all interactions i had with you. I am sorry this happened because it should not have. Your $100 check will be in the mail today. Have a great summer :) Mary
