Thank you for the feedback, Stephane! We love our central location a couple of blocks off the main thoroughfares in town, but there can be some truck traffic on Centre Street. Please reach out next time you are coming to town and we can make sure you are booked in a room facing the courtyard, rather than the street.

Hotel Pippa, as is the case with many of Nantucket’s inns and hotels, operates in a historic building with some unique charms. These facets are part of the character of the hotel and we continuously work to ensure our guests understand them before staying with us.Room 16 does, in fact, have a detached private bathroom across the hall from the bedroom. This bathroom is private and only used by room 16, but it is not ensuite. We list this feature in the online description of the room and in all correspondence we sent confirming your reservation. To help manage guest expectations, we highlight the “DETACHED PRIVATE BATHROOM” in all CAPS in our email communication, where we also encourage our guests to contact us prior to arrival if this room configuration will not be satisfactory. It seems our email communications with you leading up to the arrival Monday were not successful in managing your expectations, and for that we apologize. Regarding the centipede in your room, the building is inspected and treated regularly to prevent pests. Despite these measures, an insect occasionally does make its way in to the hotel. We were pleased that our housekeeping team was available to assist you with the issue in the middle of the night. Should you choose to come and stay with us again, please reach out directly to the hotel so we can assist with selecting a room that better meets your expectations.

Richard, We were unable to accommodate 4 guests in a room that has a maximum occupancy of 2, so you did not stay with us. If we had known in advance that you planned to travel as a party of 4, we would have been able to come up with a solution to accommodate all of you. We have given you a credit for a future stay, which we hope you will use when you next travel to Nantucket.
