Great for family or any group

Lovely historic home!!! Our extended family stayed when we were in town for a wedding and this beautiful property was perfect with all of the bedrooms and bathrooms. So nice for us each to have our own space and such solidly built - very quiet even with a group. The spacious yard with its magnificent views, seating areas, heaters and fire pits were fabulous. We really enjoyed sitting in the sun room with the eastern view of the lake and amazing sunrise view. Had a bit of time to explore the great beach with easy stairway access. Chris and the property manager, Emily were extremely accommodating, and responsive. We loved having the opportunity to stay in this spectacular home and enjoyed taking in the stunning architecture and lovely decor. Only wished we had stayed longer!

Great stay for group of eight couples

Couldn’t have asked for a better reunion site. Plenty of space for gathering as a group both inside and out. Walking distance to restaurants. Beautiful beach view. Close to winery and breweries. Would definitely come back.

Great house for a guys golf vacation!

Fabulous location for all the surrounding courses and towns and restaurants. Awesome host who was very collaborative and responsive and just an amazing property for a large group with good outdoor and communal spaces and plenty of beds! A great time and would highly recommend it.

Remarkable Mansion on the Shore of Lake Michigan

This beautifully preserved historic mansion on the shore of Lake Michigan was the perfect setting for hosting my family reunion and a small wedding. The rooms are comfortable and there are several common rooms to enjoy. I'd highly recommend for a group of friends or family wanting to share time together.

40th anniversary trip

The size and interest in this authentic mansion made for great lodging for our family. The backyard and patio space is amazing as are the views. We had small grandchildren with us and they were very comfortable in the home and felt welcomed especially with the games and play room downstairs. The beach was convenient and it was a great beach! The Castino’s had every amenity you would need and were generous in sharing it all with us such as a beach toys, beach chairs, towels and a wagon. TVs throughout the house and good climate control were appreciated. We had a great time!

Magical Mansion

This is an amazing house! Every room has its own unique character. We felt like we were living the life of Downton Abbey (without the servants). The yard, patio, and outside views are just as amazing. A great place for a family reunion!

Fun for a big group

Location is very nice with great views. House is beautiful but horribly cluttered with knickknacks everywhere. Three full floors plus a basement. Lots of games for inside and out. Easy access to a great public beach. Owners and staff communicate well and are very helpful.

Guys Golf Trip

Perfect location (near Kohler) for our annual golf trip. Huge place with lots of rooms. The best part is the backyard with ample room for meals and great views of the lake! Chris and Annette were very easy to work with too:)

Perfect Getaway

First, the communication with the owner and manager were great. They gave plenty of information and ideas as well as making sure the process went smoothly. Huge house which was perfect for 3 families and kids. Plenty of room for all. Really cool old mansion provided some history lessons to the kids! The location is beautiful right across from the lake. The views were awesome! Overall we'd recommend this house to anyone who needs space and beds for a large group.

Milwaukee Mansion on the Lake

Fantastic house. We are 12 golfers that have stayed here twice. Great fire pit where you can solve all the world’s problems each night. We cooked in each night and ate on the back patio overlooking the lake.

Family Time

We enjoyed our stay at the mansion. Everything we needed was there. It was so great that there were enough bedrooms and baths for our whole family. The outside area was fabulous. The weather was beautiful, but Lake Michigan’s water temperature was too cold to swim in. Fun was had by all.

Highly recommended

This is certainly a one of a kind house. Very comfortable with lots of entertainment options. Worked well for all ages in our group. (Toddlers to grandparents). Loved the location and the town of SHEBOYGAN

Large and interesting house

This is a huge house with many rooms. It looks as if it was decorated by an antiques collector with literally hundreds of interesting artifacts. If you are interested in antiques, you will love this house.

Our week at Castino Mansion

I normally do not write reviews, but our family enjoyed our stay at the Castino Manson so much I decided to make an exception. We have a large family of 7 children and for the past 20+ years we have been going on a yearly vacation. We have gone to the Outerbanks a few times, to New York, Tennessee Mountains, Hawaii, Fort Worth, to name a few. As you can imagine we normally rent a large house, and we know what are good and bad accommodations. This was our first visit to Wisconsin. On our way back from our trip our children said that if we don't find a good place next year, we should go back to the Castino Mansion. Our stay was the end of July. The entire house was very clean; the bedrooms were large; the common areas we're spacious; and the outside sitting areas were outstanding. The first 2 days you could hear the lake waves from the back porch. I got a few pages read in my book before I fell asleep on one of the chairs. The basement is large with numerous games for adults and children including a pool table, foosball, poker table, and tons of table games. There's a large TV area also in the basement where the younger children watched movies. The beach is a short walk away, and if you sit on the porch, you can hear people on the beach. The beach was not crowded. The back yard is big enough to have a family baseball game. We had never been to Sheboygan. It is a neat clean little city. One night they had a food truck party at the park. Another day they had a farmers market in the town square. It has a neat little downtown that you can walk along and visit shops. There are lots of good restaurants in the town. There is also a Starbucks. The Castinos provide a number of bicycles for peoples use. The parents of the older children were not afraid to allow their children to ride around the neighborhood. I am the grandfather of the family, and unfortunately the one that pays the vacation bills. In the 20+ years of our vacations, I would have to say this was one of the more relaxing vacations we have had. It is a large old mansion, and if you don't mind that kind of setting you will not be disappointed. Chris Castino is also great to work with, and Lisa the manager is only a couple blocks away. Like I said, I normally do not write reviews, and I have not been paid to write this one.

Fantastic Mansion!

Unbelievable mansion with all the amenities you could possibly want. Perfect for a wedding, family reunion, golf trip or group vacation. Would not hesitate to go back and relive the magical time at the Mansion. A must stay!!!!
