My family always enjoys staying at Kitchens Creek House. In my mind it is the perfect beach house. We have been coming as a family to DeBordieu for 38 years. We have been in a Kitchens house for 83 of those years. We were in the Kitchens beach until Jim decided to have that exclusively for his family. Then we were lucky enough to move to the Creek House.

About 30 years at Kitchen Creek

My family has been lucky to spend a week a year at this wonderful house. This house has all the things you need and expect in a beach house. We generally have between 15 and 20 people including very young ones. The house works great with a large well furnished kitchen to a table that seats us all. Lots of screened porch space and a great dock. You can enjoy the sunsets over the marsh and if you are there for the 4th the fireworks show is spectacular.

Love this house

I am creating so many memories in this house….with family …and childhood friends! Some day a new stove top would be good! I have done lots of scrubbing with baking soda to keep the top clean.

House could use some paint and improve the kitchen area especially. Ice maker at the bar area doesn't work. The refrigerator drawers down stairs are broken The house was clean and for the most part acceptable. One kitchen cabinet had a broken door. the dish washer needed an adjustment to keep the interior part from falling out. It's a great house don't let it fall apart. We have rented this house at least 4-5 times in the past. Roger Smith MD

Everything was just golden!!!!! One wall lamp that needs fixing....2nd floor of 4 bedrooms.....the room closest to the ocean with twin beds .....the wall lamp easily falls over as you turn it on and off. Should be secured.

This house just works for a large crowd! Love that every bedroom has it's own renovated bathroom, plus the full bath on the bottom floor is great when sandy beach goers come home. The two refrigerators on the bottom floor are also convenient for packing coolers with drinks for the beach. It's close proximity to the beach and beach club are also a plus! The elevator was not working, but the owners are waiting on parts to repair it. Having that would have been nice for luggage and our senior family members. The view of the creek/marsh is absolutely beautiful, with two docks for your boats. And the huge screened porch is perfect for all ages. Also, love the downstairs playroom with access to the covered parking. Perfect for rainy day activities and entertaining kids of all ages. This is a fantastic house!!

We appreciate the Kitchens family seeing to the downstairs shower, the shower leak in the King bathroom, & the elevator issues. I thought I would take this opportunity to mention a few other items. There were quite a few roaches in the kitchen area. Also because we cook & eat exclusively at the Kitchens house, the refrigerator in the kitchen has issues with the top shelf. Thankful for access to other 2 refrigerators. Looking to next year!

A wonderful vacation

We had planned this little getaway for our card group, 4 couples and 3 widows, and one couple had to decline shortly after we booked the house, and we had to back out at the end because of illness, but those who went had a grand time. They sent pictures from the deck of a bald eagle in the marsh at sundown, of the card games, of relaxing on the porch and more. We truly missed being in that fabulous house and missed being with our best friends. We'll be back.

Such a special time

I have loved this house for a long time now. Just thrilled with all the renovations. Was waiting for a full bath downstairs! Yay! On my wish list is a new dish washer and stove top. That's all. One can feel so much love in this special home. Thrilled to be coming back the week after July 4th week and Oct 24-27 .

House was perfect for our four-couple golf getaway. Only complaints would have been VERY minor (no chalk for pool cues). We would definitely come back!

The renovations are first class. The only issue was the need for a new kitchen refrigerator electronic "motherboard", as no water or ice could be dispensed during our stay. Have already signed up for next year.
