I have never booked anything through Vrbo. The reservation process was fairly simple. I didn't download an app. I didn't know I needed to. When I arrived at the property getting in was difficult, primarily due to my experiences with making reservations in the past. Everything, including the entrance locks look the same but the access each time has been different. Also, it would be helpful to have detailed information in the facility especially for Wifi. I used my phone for a hotspot and that was okay. But there was no information in the facility for the password. Since my stay was work and recreation this aspect was inconvenient. And, since I didn't know about the need for the app for better communication my contact with the host was limited to call through the Vrbo customer service line. So, after doing this to gain access i just didn't bother. Remember, that all people who go online to book things are not tech savvy. Some may be like me technically challenged.
