Booking: this part was problematic and took time. I requested the property and had to do it twice as the owner didn’t respond in time. Once done it was fairly straightforward. I did want to add a third room which took some back and forth again but we got there.
Checking in: the lockbox was easy to find but I should have kept the details offline as I had some problems accessing Stayz at the property. The owner was there when we arrived and he was able to verbally let me know the code while I was looking for it.
Stay: the house makes for a very comfortable place to be, it’s absolutely massive. The beds were all very comfortable and our rooms were all separate so we had our own privacy. We used the outdoor space a lot with its extremely large dining and lounge space, great to have the fans out there too as it was very warm on arrival. The large lounge room was great to retire to at night also.
The house is on the older side but still in good shape.
Location: this was probably the disappointing part for me as it’s a hike down to the water and you can’t see the water at all when you’re sitting in the outdoor space. The photos made it look like it was on the doorstep to the river but that couldn’t be further from the truth.
Overall: great house, beautiful property and it’d be great for a family stay as it has everything you could possibly need. At $990 for two nights for 3 people it’s quite expensive and for that price it would have been nice to see some breakfast provisions and coffee pods or even just some bread, butter and packet spreads. The milk frother on the coffee machine didn’t work and the fan in the main room makes a loud clicking sound when it’s on. Overall it’s a lovely house and made it very easy to catch up with the family while we were there.
