Nice location wouldn't stay in this condo again

Love the Villas, not the Unit

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was somewhat dirty. I was very happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Gulf Stream Villas is a great location. Love the grounds and especially the pool. However, the pool should have lights for an evening swim.Unit 112 looks nice and updated on the surface. When actually up close it needs major TLC. Was extremely dusty, black mold in vents downstairs, lots of light bulbs were burnt out. Lots of chipped paint. For some reason the trash wasn’t collected and it was all over the parking lot. The sheriff even stopped one day to give a warning. Also, queen bed downstairs was painful.The staff at the realty office was nice and professional. Made the check in process super easy. We had an overall good time with family and friends. Will just chose a different unit if we stay at the Villas again.

Great Location; Not So Great Rental

Reviewer Comments: Loved the location -well taken care of grounds, pool and great beach access. This unit is in great need of updates. What appears to be mold on ceiling vents, every burner on stove was unlevel, overall crowded with lots of unnecessary furniture made the rooms seem too crowded--no room for pack and play. Unit sleeps nine but only seating for six to dine. Generally just an okay place, could have stayed at nicer places for same amount of rent.

The deck is falling off the building, there are at least 2 soft spots in the floor downstairs. One was bad enough I though we would fall through the floor. The kitchen was lacking cooking utensils. This place definitely needs work. I will stay in this neighborhood again but not this unit. Very poorly maintained.

Reviewer Comments: We were extremely disappointed in the condition of the unit - unsafe balcony/deck which was never secured and we were unable to use (even though it was reported to the rental agency and unit owner), no outdoor trash receptacle, not enough seating for the number of people the unit could sleep, mold on a shower curtain and 1 knife in the entire unit! Overall decks and stairs were splintery.Can't believe that Garden City is still representing this owner.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We were very disappointed in the condition of the villa that we stayed in. A lot of the other villas around us seemed to be better taken care of outside and inside from what we could see. The front door was very difficult to unlock and hard to lock back up. The sliding glass door on the upper-level would get stuck and you had to push from the bottom to get it to open all of the way. We did not receive any kitchen towels (only dish cloths) and the kitchen needed more pans to cook with. Paint is peeling in bathrooms and they weren't very clean. Overall, we were so disappointed with the villa.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We have stayed in a few of the Gulf Stream Villas. This unit could use some TLC. Kitchen appliances could be upgraded and the kitchen amenities could be placed and upgraded with new. The bedrooms were spacious and comfortable. The living space was also very comfortable. Th top deck appeared to be sagging so I would think that would need attention. The location is fantastic. Easy walk over the dunes to the beach and the pool is great after a day at the beach. Quick ride to the restaurants in Murrell's Inlet, we especially love COSTA. Overall we loved our stay and will return.

We did enjoy our vacation at this villa and will rent again the restaurants were to our liking and the shopping gave a break from the ocean/beach this unit did have everything we needed

Nice property & location

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Overall this was a decent place to stay. The artwork inside was beautiful and it was brightly decorated. The beds here were terrible especially the queen bed in the on suite downstairs. There was a huge dip in the middle of the bed that the thick mattress topper could not mask. The bunk beds seemed a little sketchy as the boards underneath kept falling while our children were laying on the beds. It would be a great place if some of the mattresses were replaced, the tile floor was repaired where the numerous cracks are and there was a dishwasher installed. The view was nice and we've stayed in a few of the different units at Gulf Stream Villas and we love that location. It's nice at quiet in that area.

It is one of the nicest settings in the area and so peaceful. Also, the mattresses on all the beds were so nice. We have decided to buy new mattresses for our home.

I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We started out the week loving the place with no complaints on the location or condition of the unit. However, we had been getting what we thought were mosquito bites for several days, and on the 3rd day discovered very small black insects on both levels of this unit that were biting us. The exterminator was called and he said they were sand fleas that you bring in from the beach. He said the whole unit would need to be treated, but they couldn't do it right away. We strongly disagree that we brought these in from the beach ourselves, and believe they were in the unit from the previous residents. In over 40 years of staying in the Myrtle Beach area, this is the first time we have encountered this problem. I will say Garden City Realty was great and immediately moved us to a different unit close by and gave us a credit of one days stay. They also helped us with following the proper procedures & expenses to ensure we didn't transfer the fleas to the next unit. Although we initially loved Gulf Stream Villa 112 S, I will check the box below to not recommend to a friend. The reason being I am not confident a thorough insect inspection is being done on this unit regularly. If there had been no fleas, I would have given ratings of 4 & 5 for this unit.

Reviewer Comments: Location, set up of the unit in relation to the pool and the ocean were wonderful. The unit itself was less than wonderful. We felt it was dirty (rug under the table was filthy, past residents' trash found under beds and behind night stands, etc). Broken items that were unusable (table & chair on balcony of upstairs' bedroom, seat on a chair at the table, chairs on the lower patio). We have rented many different condos and found this one to be unsatisfactory.We would not stay at this unit again.

Reviewer Comments: This was our first time renting a house on the beach, we researched a lot. After all this was our youngests graduation and everything had to be perfect! Boy did we do good! This was a great place!!And a great price. The house had everything we needed.Complete kitchen to puzzels,books,games and movies. We had 7 family members and plenty of room. It really was on the beach, just walk over the dunes and there it was. Beautiful! This was probably the first rental this season, so I didn't mind...but 2 bathrooms were a little dirty with hairs and such on the floor. With some updating the experience could be better. Low water pressure for showers. Doors that stick and are noisy. Dead roaches needed to be vacuumed up. But really, the location and price made it all worth it! I would rent this again!
