Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This condo is beautifully decorate. Nicely upgraded. The kitchen was nicely stocked. Ned’s were comfortable. I highly recommend staying in this condo. The views from this condo are so much better than the other rooms cause it’s an end unit so you can see clear down the beach. My only small suggestion is it would have been nice to have a small vacuum or even a decent broom to use. There was a broom in the condo, but it was not functional (the bristles were all messed up).

Reviewer Comments: We’ve stayed here twice but the second time some lightbulbs were out and there is black mold in the bathtub in the master bedroom so cleaning crew is cutting corners. The TV in the small bedroom isn’t connected to spectrum as are the other TVs so you can’t watch anything on it. The dryer doesn’t dry the clothes but other than that it’s a nice condo

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Would not recommend this property. The cable did not work in the living area, only had one other small TV in the bedroom. Ran out of hot water daily. Advertised for 8-10 people, only 2-3 could shower before hot water ran out.

We love Atalaya Towers

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: While we have stayed at this building before, this was our first time staying in this unit. The unit itself is big and nicely decorated. We love the fact that it was an end unit because it had lots of windows and light coming in and several views of the ocean. From a property management standpoint, I will say my only critique is that the cleaners need to be more diligent because we did notice hair on the walls in the bathroom, particularly that were not wiped down. I will say that I think maybe the owners need to come in over the fall and winter and declutter some of the closets because there’s no room in any of them to really hang anything and do some painting to refresh the condo. I will say we have always had a great experience with Garden City realty and this building so we will be back for next year.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Great condo, very clean! The owners have added a new sofa, new washer/dryer, some nice decor, balcony furniture, and I believe a television in the third bedroom. Only drawback in condo would be the bed in master bedroom is lumpy and the comforter needs replacing. The dishwasher was not working and we received a response/visit from a technician the same day. He said it required parts to fix and they would probably just trade it out. We never got a replacement, but in their defense, there was a Tropical Storm that blew through the next day that had staff very busy, so understandable. The staff are wonderful and very helpful. One of the elevators was out and that caused delays checking in/out. We enjoyed a great meal at Wicked Tuna in Murrells inlet and tasty takeout pizza and wings from Mellow Mushroom.

I had to sweep everything on arrival and wipe down the washer and dryer. The bedskirts were off the beds and in the floor so I had to remake the beds. There was only 1 elevator and always a line so you waited a good 5-10 minutes for the elevator

The wait to get on the elevator was ridiculously long. I ask someone to clean the floor and the they were not to eager to mop it up. I slipped a few times and worried about my 88 year old mother slipping. Will not ever stay there again.

Reviewer Comments: We were in Mrytle Beach for a dance competition and this condo was the perfect getaway and resting place from our hectic dance schedule that week. Love the beach and location. The unit was beautiful. We had 9 people and it accommodated us perfectly. Love the kitchen! Lots of space! Would like some more rugs though. Floor get damp wirh humidity and sandy We stayed in 2016 at Atalaya Towers and I loved the location then which brought me back. I like that its in a quieter area and love the marsh and inlets. Definitely would stay again.

Great view but being on the end unit it was pretty windy but still very nice view. Also would have loved to take our dogs. But over all a wonderful vacation.They should have air in elevators because it is miserable to have to ride because of being so hot. We will come back again but need a corner room that can have our pets.

Love Atalaya, but the unit needs improvement

Reviewer Comments: Renting from Garden City was effortless & they were very accommodating.We have rented from Garden City before & we would rent from them again.However,unit itself was very tired & not clean.There was dirt built up behind the beds & dressers.We even found food under the bed.The fake plants were caked in dust.The upholstery on the sofas, dining chairs and stools was stained & filthy.We ended up putting sheets on the sofas so we could sit down.There was some kind of black greasy build up beside the washing machine & the window ledges in the main living area were crumbling.The floor is white tile in the kitchen & hall & needs to be scrubbed clean.You can see the dirt build up.We notified GC the next day (after having arrived at 12:30am)& they responded very quickly & gave the place a good vacuuming & even moved the beds and dressers away from the wall in order to vacuum.they also removed the fake plants.There were a couple of minor plumbing issues that they started to fix but never returned to finish while we were there (an additional 7 days).We appreciated the initial quick response, but this unit is in MAJOR need of improvement.There is no good reason why the dining chairs and bar stools should be in the condition they were in.This unit did not reach a minimum standard & we've stayed in several units in this building.Certain things are being replaced but it seems it's on an "as needed" basis,the counter top is new & looks great,the washing machine is new & fridge seems new as well.The pool area was repainted and the tile around the top of the pool was replaced &looks very fresh.The building is pretty clean & the property managers in the office are very friendly and helpful.We would stay again at Atalaya, just not in this unit if we can avoid it. I sincerely hope Garden City will make some major improvements to this unit.

Not what it use to be!

I was disappointed at how run down it is. Dirty and definitely needs updated. The bath rooms off from the indoor pool was terrible. The floor was full of mud or how knows what. I think it bred disease. The kids were going in without shoes. The pool and the hot tub was not clean either. I love the view and the balcony but I will never stay here again until updates are done. We stayed in the same unit years ago and it looks the same. I have always loved Garden City and Surf side because it is a family beach. This time I was embarrassed for my grandchildren. Adults drinking from the time they got up until they went to bed, cussing and being loud. I guess for Atalaya it's okay. No signs that said no alcohol.
