Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We absolutely love this house and come here every year. The location right next to the pier means live music every night while you relax in the rocking chairs on the porch. Step down right onto the sand, minutes from the MarshWalk and great restaurants is great. It's the perfect place to stay!

The location was very close to the pier and Garden City restaurants and there was ample space in bedrooms and bathrooms for us. There was a lot of noise from the pier, but that did not bother us.

We had a good stay despite rain the entire time we were there. The house worked well for our family. The living room furniture and a few other things were a little outdated but still worked fine. The kitchen was stocked basically but we still needed several other things so if you are big cookers, you might need a few more things. The bedrooms were all nice and beds were all comfortable. Easy check-in process but be ready for some steep stairs up to the unit. The only difficulty we had was the group on the other side of the unit was wide open and drunk the majority of the time they were there, but that was just an unlucky time for us to be there between them and the weather. Despite that, we would rent here again, especially with the location of the house.

I would recommend new conforters and mattress pad covers. The house could use a detailed cleaning and paint touch ups but overall was a very nice place to stay.

Not a good family rental!

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very dirty. I was very unhappy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: There was something sticky all over the kitchen floor and sand was not swept up, upon arrival. There was coffee grounds left in the pot with a dirty carafe. Ants everywhere. Ceiling & furniture on deck was moldy. Property was extremely noisy at night. All of the beds were extremely hard. You can smell the rent-a-johns that were on the public access right next to the property. Not a good choice for families!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Liked the location and walkability to pier. Our request for bug spray was handled; the dishwasher was fixed quickly. Two kitchen chairs have missing support rungs so chair wobbly. Without any blinds on sliding door, could not use any of couches for about 2 hours after sunrise. Cupboards need to be cleared out of so many extras so we can put our food away (eg: there were 4 coffee makers and only one worked). Toilet in main ran every 5 mins or so. Bathroom towel bars in some rooms were broken off. Would recommend renting to someone if above concerns addressed

Great, with minor issues

The property itself is in a FANTASTIC location! It is right next to the little downtown area of Garden City, and the Pier (which is our favorite), but best of all we could walk off the deck and be at the beach!! It was so amazing to have short walks, especially with a 3 and 1 year old in tow. When we arrived an hour early, we were able to get into the house. There were some minor things not as clean as they should have been (bathrooms), and some portions of the property were not in top notch performing shape (dishwasher, sink/tub drains, rocking chairs). After reaching out to the property manager about multiple rocking chairs being broken, we were told someone would be by to address the issue, and that never happened. That was very disappointing. Which led me not to report the other issues we were having because I knew they would not be addressed. The limited supplies (both disposable and linens) provided, and having to make all the beds seemed a little ridiculous to me considering how much you pay for the property, and for the low quality of the products and linens (it can't be that much more to provide more than 1 trash bag). We will definitely be coming back to Garden City and staying beach side, but after our experience I do not think it will be at this property.

In fact, we had a conversation about if we win the lottery, we are buying this house. Haha! It's got lots of room, a great open kitchen and a gorgeous view being right on the sand. There was a place for everyone to hang out comfortably and being right next to the pier, we had live music every night. It made for a great vacation!

Family Beach Week

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The location is great! easy access to town and you can enjoy the live music from the pier without leaving the deck. The house has a great set up for bedrooms not so great for the living space.There is an extremely large table that takes up most of the living room/dining room so the couches are laid in a vertical pattern as opposed to an L for easy conversation. They are also VERY OLD and in desperate need of replacement. The kitchen has enough plates to fed an army but no where near enough pans to cook for that many. There are a ton of pots. Recommend cleaning out the entire kitchen and getting a basic set of pots and pans that are more functional. The staff was fantastic and very responsive. In terms of cleanliness there are real hardwood floors through the property that just trap sand. We bought a broom and dust pan to try to keep up but its a losing battle. I think a little updating would go a long way with this property.

Things are getting Worn Out

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Overall, the experience was great as always, we can never complain about the location and roominess of this house. We've stayed here three times in the last 6 years and we can see the wear and tear on this residence. The owners need to put a few dollars into it to improve the customer’s experience. A side did not have an outside shower or hose hookup. Vegetation is overgrown preventing the use of the B sides shower. Floors need refinishing. Deck and rails need cleaning (pictures depicted in ad are very old). Suggest bringing the shower and hose hookup onto the rear deck to reduce the amount of sand getting into the house. Reduce the overabundance of kitchenware that has accumulated. I can get more detailed, but you get the picture.

wonderful week in Garden City

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: There was several things wrong. The pictures make the house look bigger then what it really is. The floor dirty, dishes had to be scrubbed you could not cook with them. Pots and pans. Although they did say bring toilet paper I do feel for the price we paid they could at least provide a new full roll for each bathroom. The place was over ran with ants. Got all in the suit cases. I did call maintenance and they offer to come spray. I did turn down the spray as did not want to smell it the rest of the time. The appliances were so bad it was a struggle to use and cook with them. If I was the Real Estate company I would consider not listing this house. We stayed with Garden City Realty last year and they have always been great with their listing. They should consider finding another cleaning service. The only other issue if you have a family with young children you would not want to stay there. With the pier so close the music is so loud you could hear it in the house and with and access parking to the beach right next to the house very noisy. If you are partiers this is the place as i'm sure you will not cook or care for the noise.

Nice house on the beach.

Floors not very clean kids crawling knees and hands black. Alot of sand and dust under everything. When the kids toys go under couch/ bed they have to be cleaned before they can play with them again. Littte trouble checking in. ( Maintenance issue )Staff was freindly.Everything else was

Against the Wind A

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Overall we had a great time and would stay there again. Location is very close to the pier good if you want to fish, downside of that is often loud music and karaoke (not always good) until 11pm most nights. Several decent places to eat within walking distance. There is a public beach access next to the property so you get to do some people watching ;) The unit needs some rethinking in the kitchen, there were a few pots and pans, but probably 25 lids that didn't go to anything, multiple strainers, no good resealable containers for leftovers, utensils were adequate. Fortunately for us we always bring a big frying pan, stock pot. utensils and resealable containers or ziplocs so we adapted. Multiple steep stairs into and within the unit but this is common for an ocean front beach house. If you have physical issues it will be a challenge for you. As I said at the start we would stay there again.
