Everything was perfect with the property. Better than expected property owner was available and responsive! Small cosy home with everything you should need. Close walk to main shopping area and very safe area. Small front and rear yards perfect for a small pet.

This cottage is absolutely perfect! Very pet friendly, fully-fenced yards in front and back. Lawn and landscaping was well maintained. We loved sitting on the front porch and people watching. The location is great, 5 min walk to shopping and wonderful restaurants. We could not have asked for anything more in this house, it had everything we needed and more. Cozy feel with all the modern amenities. Will definitely stay here again in the future!

I came here because, I wanted to go up to Mount Shasta and go to Panther Meadow and just enjoy the area. I had rented other places before that weren't close to all the things I liked. This was the perfect location for me. The Whitney Cottage is just beautiful. The kitchen is big and spacious with everything you could possibly imagine that you need. It's there. There's a big rustic dining room table and chairs, that gives you the mountain cottage type atmosphere along with the bed in the bedroom that I slept in. I loved all the tile in the bathroom and the removable shower head. I'm 74 so there were a lot of things that made it easy for me. I loved all the decor rustic but also modern all the little extras that made the place feel like home. I felt safe and secure there. I had everything I needed and I knew if I needed anything in any way the manager Lisa, who was awesome, would assist me. She was very responsive to anything that I asked her or any messages I sent. Last night I sat out in the patio backyard and it was very pleasant. There's lots of chairs there to enjoy and garden flower environment. Overall it was just a wonderful experience and I definitely would go back.Paula L

this was my first VRBO experience and I was very anxious trying something new. But the property owner Lisa was so helpful and communicated well. The instructions to the property, to enter the property and everything inside the property was clearly explained.The house was a darling cottage. I went to Mount Shasta with my 25 year-old son to grieve the loss of my husband of 35 years. We’d sit in the two chairs on the front porch and talk. We’d sit at the dining room table and talk. It was so convenient to the hikes we did every day and walking distance to downtown Mount Shasta.I cooked breakfast, lunch, and dinner every day. Everything I needed was provided in the kitchen. One night even barbecuing on the outdoor grill. We enjoyed the woodburning stove on a couple of days that were cool.Beds were comfy. All the furniture was a wonderful quality, leather couches. And well-thought-out decor, giving it the mountain vibe.At first, I was a little concerned. It’s right on the Main St., - Mount Shasta Boulevard because I have a noise sensitivity (hyperacusis) but Mount Shasta being a small town. This was not an issue for me. And the offstreet parking was great.

Cute and Cozy

This house was a fantastic, charming home. It was super clean and comfy and perfect for our small group and 2 little dogs. I loved the private fenced-in backyard area. Plenty of shade to sit out there with our dogs when it got really warm. It was a great location to explore Mount Shasta since it was within walking distance of the main downtown area as well as their local food coop. I would definitely book this place again in the future.

Perfect cottage getaway in Mt Shasta

Staying in this well-equipped, thoughtfully decorated and cozy cottage feels like coming home. The owner has thought of everything to make her guests feel welcome. We absolutely love the Whitney Cottage and look forward to our next visit.

Great Getaway to Shasta!

My girlfriends and I had a wonderful stay at the house. It was conveniently located to restaurants and activities. The kitchen was well equipped for our stay too. We ended up ordering food in both nights because it was more fun to hangout at the house than go out. Beds were super comfortable and the fireplace was great. I highly recommend this house.

Another awesome stay

2nd trip to Shasta and stayed in the Whitney Cottage again. Everything is so homey and the cottage has everything you will need for a wonderful and comfortable stay. The host is awesome and is very quick to respond if you have a question. There is a wonderful notebook there with information on anything you might want to do in Shasta. The hiking information is particularly comprehensive. I'll definitely be back.

3rd Stay

We've stayed at this property 3 times now and we keep returning because it's perfect for our small family of four. It's within walking distance of downtown restaurants regardless of weather, it's an easy drive up to the ski resort, it has an open floor plan which makes the small footprint feel larger, and we even used the wood burning stove for the first time to help dry gloves (not on, but near). Beds are a bit soft but that's the only quibble. Kids love the big screen TV and always look forward to just crashing on the couch watching Grizzly and the Lemmings until we make them turn it off and play games at the generous wood table in the dining room.

Shasta Burthday Stay

We met our son and grandchildren at this beautiful cottage situated right in town and near everything. There was ample parking for two trucks and although there was a lot of snow the driveway was plowed as well as a pathway to the front stairs and entrance. The inside was decorated so beautifully, with plenty of space for the 5 of us and two dogs. The cottage had everything we needed for cooking bathing and entertainment. We will book again in the future.

Whitney Cottage Getaway

This lovely cottage was even better than advertised. Warm, cozy, inviting and well appointed. We had never rented a VRBO home before and this was a wonderful experience. The owner has gone above and beyond to provide a lovely home away from home for her guests. We look forward to going back to the Whitney Cottage for another enjoyable getaway. We loved it !!! Great weekend get away!

The cottage was perfect for a quick get away. The fire stove kept the cottage cozy and warm. It was close to down town for walking and only a short drive Heart Lake for a hike. Everything was so comfortable and inviting - the bed was the best!

Perfect Location!

Short walk to all restaurants and shops is a big plus to my group. Very comfortable small but roomy house. Our host was readily available to answer questions and offer any help we needed. Would definitely stay here again without hesitation.

Cute and convenient

This little cottage is well designed and supplied for a stay in town. It is within walking distance of most of town and just across the street from the best grocery store! The little areas outside in both front and back were relaxing and inviting.
