Great place to stay
The stay was great! The house is beautiful, service and food was amazing. Very easy walk to downtown Mt. Dora. Would definitely recommend and will stay when i am in the area again!

The rooms were beautiful. The owner is a jewel. Breakfast was scrumptious. The Highway Men paintings were an amazing surprise!!

The property was convenient to walk to town. Breakfasts were good and the grounds were very pretty. The dining area was nice and looked out on the gardens and pool. There is a path to the back of the property that conveniently leads to downtown, which was great, but the actual path was a bit treacherous. It is uphill, uneven and at night only 1 light comes on to guide your way. I believe you can take a golf cart but we liked to walk. We booked the Highwaymen room because we wanted a view of the lake and sunsets as advertised. Unfortunately, the trees have grown so tall across the street that there is literally no view of the lake at all. there was a busy road and traffic noise in this room as well. mattress has a concave area in the middle, which made it very uncomfortable, so we slept with our heads to the bottom of the bed. room was outdated with old wallpaper. older but clean mismatched towels. no countertop space in the bathroom only a pedestal sink. For the price we expected more.

Bed was very uncomfortable, mattress needs change! Host doesnt make any effort to welcome guests and make them special, even though some of us were on our bdays. No lake view and furniture is old. Sorry but not recommended

Lovely home and an excellent location. Close enough to walk in to town but far enough that you feel removed from the traffic the rooms were neat and clean. However, they could definitely use new pillows. The ones they have felt very old and used and terribly uncomfortable. We did not sleep well at all, very hard beds. Breakfast was wonderful and everyone was very nice.

No elevator so going up And swim the stairs with big luggage was a challenge. The owner is very friendly. The breakfast was very good. Her banana nut bread is amazing !!!

It was quiet, The room was comfortable and extremely clean. Within walking distance to town. Liked all the paintings, Margie is very personable and welcoming. Ringo is a sweetheart of a dog!

Best place to stay in Mt. Dora!
Truly an amazing place to stay! The room was cozy and clean, breakfast was yummy and the house itself was so cool! It was like an art museum. You’ll have to see for yourself- 10/10 would recommend! Best place to stay in Mt. Dora- you can even walk to downtown from the B&B. Can’t wait to come back

What an beautiful retreat! From the minute we arrived to the minute we checked out we were treated like family. Margie is the essence of a perfect hostess. Our room was immaculate and she even let us change rooms to a larger one after we arrived! Our breakfasts were some of the best breakfasts we have ever eaten. Much better than any restaurant!! She was very knowledgeable about the area and offered us many suggestions on what to see and what to do. We will definitely be back and would recommend Heron Cay to everyone!!

Spent one night here. Nice place but the bed was very springy. Good location. Breakfast was decent. Banana bread was served cold. No organic fruit, passed on the eggs. Margie was nice.

Bed was hard but middle sank in, worn mattress. Stairs were very steep to second level and shower head was broken. Water smelled like sewer water, sink leaked and there was someone’s hair in shower drain. Wallpaper was loud but they did have water in the room. I will stay at holiday inn if I was to visit again.
