We cannot say enough good things about this adorable cottage! Such a well thought out use of the square footage, tastefully decorated, with such a nice vibe & good energy! So well planned and thought out, it has a beautiful flow and great light. The beds were comfortable, the water was hot, and the kitchen was nicely equipped. The outdoor areas were great, water view was surprisingly nice, and the grounds were beautiful.This place totally exceeded our expectations! The owners should be proud of this little gem! Only suggestion I could make would be to perhaps have porch lights on a timer. We arrived after sundown and having a welcoming bit of exterior light would have been most appreciated. SO glad we picked this house for our time in Cedar Point!

The beach cottage was comfortable, beautifully decorated, had a great floor plan with restful porches. Everything needed was provided for the stay.The setting was quiet and easy to find.The hosts had identified what was necessary for getting to know the surrounding areas in terms of activities, stores and restaurants.

This was the most adorable cottage. It was very warm and welcoming. The decor was beautiful. Fantastic location. Even though I did not use the bikes or kayaks, I loved that they were available. It was also wonderful to be able to take my little dog with me. The large Jacuzzi tub and the steam shower were some nice luxurious additions. I will definitely stay at this property again next time I’m in the area.

We had a perfect vacation at this wonderful waterside cottage! The owners accommodated us with an early check-in. We found the cottage to be clean and had all the amenities we needed. Beautifully furnished and very cozy! Located on a safe quiet street near restaurants and the beach.

Great House

Wonderful House with everything that you could possibly need. Everything was clean and even though we only communicated with the owner once they got back to us within minutes. It was super that our fur baby was able to come as well. There were a lot of mosquitoes in the area but that was due to the weather and had nothing to do with the owners as they even provided various cans of bug spray.

Terrible!

On arrival the unit was hot and humid. We lower the AC and gave time for it to cool down. By the time it was close to midnight, only the fan was working. On top of this, the outdoors description was totally inaccurate: no fenced in yard, the deck and even the screened in porch were covered in leaves (we went in the spring), the wooden table and branches on the photos were in pieces, with rusted screws coming out in every angle. We called the owner about the AC and they send a repairman who couldn't repair it. We finally decided to abort our vacation and requested a refund. On top of the fact that this ruined our vacation, the cost to travel there and the wasted PTOs, we only got a partial refund (-200) because the owner couldn't do anything about the VRBO and other fees. I would never recommend this rental.

The home looks much better in pictures, very outdated and well worn furniture. I do not enjoy sitting on stained furniture. When we arrived we were greeted with fleas! They came to spray the next day so we did have to leave the house, unfortunately in was raining. The location is great and check in was very easy.

Relaxing Cottage

This little house was perfect for a relaxing fall weekend. The owners responded quickly to all communication, and the location is great-just a few steps from the river with a spacious front porch and convenient to Emerald Isle and Swansboro. We rented the kayaks and enjoyed an afternoon on the river. One thing to be aware of—the windows in the 2nd bedroom don’t close completely so one night when there was a north wind coming off the river it was a little chilly. Fortunately our teenager who wears shorts if the temperature is above 20 was sleeping in there so he was fine, but that’s probably something that will need some attention before winter. We would definitely stay here again though.

The property has a broken railing on the front steps on the right side which was not noted in the posting. The back porches were not available due to locked doors but covered in leaves anyway. The AC/Heating system could not be changed from AC(no instructions in cottage) and the weather was cool. The owners may want to consider new housekeepers since there was quite a bit of dust on baseboards in the bathrooms and other areas. The shell nightlights did not work. Nightlights are great for older guest.Cottage nicely redone considering the age and the lack of noise was nice.

Stay by the River

Relaxing! Everything as described in the advertisement. We enjoyed walking to Swansboro and the short drive to the beach was easy. The weather didn’t fully cooperate but we still enjoyed.

Family vacation to Emerald Isle

This was our second time to Emerald Isle, but our first time staying at this particular VBRO. The house was perfect; very clean and all the amenities we could possibly need for a week at the beach. We loved reading on the hammock on the screened porch, and would have used more of the outdoor space if it weren’t for the rain. When we arrived, hurricane Debbie was also getting ready to hit our area. Lots of scary forecasts for rain and flooding and wind. Our hosts were very responsive when we had questions regarding our safety and what to do if we ever felt like we needed to leave. Luckily, we were able to stay and managed to get a few dry spells to make it to the beach and out on the boat. If we decide to vacation in Emerald Isle again, I would not hesitate to stay here again. Thanks Imogen and Brad!

Perfect Location - So Charming!

I’ve been coming to this area for vacation with my extended family since I was a little girl- now about 35 years! I’ve stayed in dozens of properties in the area and none were so charming, tastefully designed, and well appointed as Imogen and Brad’s cottage at Cedar Point. It was a delight to stay here. It is conveniently located near all the restaurants in Swansboro and Emerald Isle. The views of the sunsets across the creek are stunning. We can’t wait to come back!
