Great location and amenities

Kayaks, grill, hot tub and plenty of outdoor seating overlooking amazing view of the sound and bird life. Fantastic peer with easy kayak launching. Kitchen well equipped. Would recommend blinds on the east facing loft glass door. All in all would definitely stay here again.

Our favorite place

This home is a gem. The views, the jacuzzi, the kayaks, we love it all. We also like how it’s near Swansboro and not too far from the ocean. We can’t wait to come back next year.

Look to the west

The views to the west are truly fantastic. Unfortunately, the house is right on rt. 24 which is rather busy and sits next to a commercial building which isn't the most attractive. Having said that there is a privacy fence between the properties and when you sit on the deck you can't see the commercial site. While you can hear the road the commercial activities next door was in no way disruptive or even noticed. Another small issue was the 3:30 AM trash pick-up. It woke up both my wife and I. Hopefully this was a one-off event and not the normal time they pick-up trash. The house itself was very nice and the kayaking was great. One afternoon the whole family paddled out to the sandbar by the bridge and went swimming. It was a blast. My son and I also got in some fishing and were fairly successful catching speckled trout and even a flounder. The hot tub was also very nice and enjoyed by all. Overall, I would recommend this property.

Great location - beautiful property!

This was my second stay in the Kayak Kabin. It is such a peaceful setting and the house is spotless and beautifully decorated. It has every amenity imaginable. The hot tub was a bonus. I contacted the host with a question and received a response within a couple of minutes. We would love to return in warmer weather to take advantage of kayaking and all that Emerald Isle has to offer.

Wonderful Thanksgiving Getaway!

We had a wonderful time at the Kayaker and Bird Watchers Dream Home. We usually come and stay in the area to visit our daughter and family for Thanksgiving. The house had an open floor plan that I like so we can be all together to eat and relax. We LOVED the view from the back decks, inside the house and down to the dock. It was fantastic. We enjoyed playing games at the dining room table, having the kitchen island counter provided extra seating and a place to serve food. The kitchen had everything needed to prepare meals. The beds were comfortable, and the house was very clean upon our arrival. We enjoyed the hot tub, and it was clean and ready to use when we got there. The grandchildren enjoyed crabbing and was lucky enough to catch five of them. You could watch the flotilla boat parade from the front porch. The traffic did not bother us. You cannot hear it from inside the house and even when you are out back. Not an issue for us. We would stay here again and would recommend. Thank you for sharing your home with us. Great family holiday and memories were made.

Amazing, wonderful, relaxing and absolutely beautiful.

The location of this home on the water was the highlight of this property, which is saying a lot because there are so many wonderful aspects of this home! The views are heavenly, whether you are getting them from the highest point of the home on the beautiful porch, or down below sitting comfortably in the spotless hot tub. When you pull in initially, you are coming off of a main road, however don’t let that deter you because what’s behind the house is the gem!!! You are not far from any grocery stores or shopping that you may need to do while being immersed in a beautiful natural environment. Best of both worlds. My intention for this stay was a relaxing birthday weekend for my son, who I was visiting. He absolutely loved it, mission accomplished! He slept 12 hours both nights because it was so very comfortable there. He said he couldn’t believe how long he slept. The bedding was very comfortable. The kitchen is absolutely beautiful, and contained everything I needed to make some terrific meals. The appliances were all new, and everything was completely spotless. This house has plenty of space inside, a beautiful green yard, a great patio, decking, and even a beautiful pier out into the saltmarsh. There is no shortage of wildlife to include beautiful birds, fish jumping out of the water, crabs, etc. We took the kayaks out, which was so much fun. The hosts were terrific, friendly and very responsive to my communication. Highly recommend and will return!

Race week getaway

We came down to race at Carteret County Speedway and enjoy the beach. Plenty of parking, 10 mins from beach or track, plenty of restaurants. The dock/pier out to the water was great. Sunrises and sunsets! This is a great location!

Wonderful Week at Kayak Kabin

Our family (2 adults and 6 children) had a wonderful stay at Kayak Kabin! The pictures don’t do it justice. The dock was beautiful to sit on during the mornings and evenings. The location was perfect! Thank you so much!

House on the highway

The house was very clean and comfortable, stocked with everything we needed. However, other reviews mention that it’s on a busy road; I would say that’s an understatement. The road is a major 4 lane highway that stays busy 24/7. The business next door starts at 3am with super loud machinery banging for several minutes. Trying to watch the birds and drink my morning coffee on the dock but was distracted with traffic noise- it’s also visible from the dock. We certainly made the best of it- enjoyed the ferry to Bear island, Emerald Isle beach, Golfin Dolphin- but it wasn’t the peace and quiet I envisioned from the listing. Good place to stay as long as you’re aware of what you’re getting.

Expectations exceeded

The Kayak Kabin provided the perfect accommodations for our group. We loved the back yard and deck areas which provided beautiful and relaxing views of the water and wildlife. Sunsets with cocktails were a must every night! We also really enjoyed the hot tub. Everything was clean and the beds were comfortable. We hope to stay here again.

Clean, Beautiful & Convenient

Our family of six had a fantastic experience at the Kayak Kabin. Seemless check-in, well stocked home that was spotless and near all the places we wanted to visit. We saw so many birds in the mornings and enjoyed kayaking one evening. The hot tub was a hit and so fresh and clean (wow!). We had everything we needed and wanted at this location. Our host was so responsive and helpful. Thanks!

Last minute NYE

We had a great 3 nights over NYE. We booked 36 hrs before we arrived. All the reviews are on point about this property. Excellent views, comfy beds, well stocked property (although some more forks and teaspoons would be great). You can hear the road especially if the windows are open at night but that didn't detract for us. Great hot tub, corn holes (one of the red bags had a hole), ring game, puzzles/ games, kayaks our 13 yr old actually enjoyed spending time with us! The boat ramp across the road was perfect our cousin pulled their boat up and took us off up the ICW.... and of course great seafood from Phillips just up the street!

Gorgeous and welcoming slice of paradise!!

Kayak Kabin provides a welcoming atmosphere and a spectacular water view. The house offers a warm and spotless “home away from home” feel. In particular, we felt cozy and safe during our absolutely frigid Christmas stay. The ample living room gave the family the perfect setting to watch a few Christmas movies and to enjoy each other’s company. The hot tub was a welcome addition that we enjoyed, especially during the frigid temperatures. It is not an overstatement to say that the river views are breathtaking and serene. These views are available from almost every room of the house. The owners were friendly and helpful. Check-in and check-out were the easiest and most streamlined we have ever experienced. We loved visiting various shops, restaurants, and entertainment venues found in Emerald Isle, Cedar Point, and Swansboro. As a family, we certainly hope another trip to Kayak Kabin is in our future!!

Well equipped, comfortable home.

Really enjoyed our stay. A good location to take in both the beach and goings on in Swansboro (took in the Thanksgiving Flotilla which was great fun). Sitting out on the end of the pier a t sunset or sunrise a highlight for sure.

Amazing deck and views

I want to go back. The pics do not do this property justice. I could sit on the high deck for hours and sit on the dock. The view is just miraculous. Bird watching amazing. So peaceful. Our teens loved kayaking. There are only 2 so we would bring our own if we go back. We brought fishing poles and fished for hours just relaxing. house is stocked with everything and the owners make check in /out very simple.

Just right for lots of R&R and him

We had a wonderful stay! Highlights…the deck and pier, swing, hot tub, comfortable beds and tv in each bedroom, easy drive to Emerald Isle, Swansboro, and other places of interest, this rental was also very clean!

Wonderful

This house is perfect for nature lovers. The place is roomy and super clean with comfy beds and furniture. Kayaks and the Private dock are a huge plus, close to restaurants and beaches. The wildlife is awesome here.
