This is SO sad that a guest would have to make up such lies in order to get his money back. Mr. Davis was told about the street construction when he booked and it was one day away from completion, but the weather delayed it. The city made it clear to all of the property owners they needed to park on the side streets. He claimed there was no parking because he wanted to park right in front of the cottage so he wouldn’t need to walk a half block to the door. He did park on the sidewalk to unload his belongings. There was also evidence that he had taken possession of the cottage, as there were lights on inside for some time and someone took a shower before they left. This was reported to me by my caretaker who lives next door. I’m not sure what his game is, unless it is to discredit me and ruin my business. I make every effort to make sure my guests have a pleasant experience while staying on my property. It is most important to me. However, unforeseen circumstances sometime keep that from happening. Such as this repaving of every street on that side of town, impacting all of us who have property there. Some circumstances are beyond my control. With all of this being said, I sincerely hope those of you who read this review will take it with a grain of salt. It is mostly lies, and I am so sad about this person taking this opportunity to discredit me and my property just because he needed to vent his frustration. I have been renting my cottage here for over 10 years and have received mostly glowing reviews. Such as the one left here by Al Thompkins. I understand the importance to have good reviews so you can be confident of a desirable place to stay. My integrity was slandered here, and that is one thing I value very highly, so feel the need to defend myself. Dear Pam, I am very sorry you felt you had a bad experience with our heating system. However , You did not inform our caretake who lives next door of your problem, even tho I told you myself when you first talked to me that He was available should you need ANYTHING . You could have called me as well. But you chose to go stomping out with out giving us a chance to make you more comfortable. We have rented this Cottage for Seven years and not had a single complaint about how it was heated. These are high efficiency wall heaters . Not Space heaters. And quite suitable for the 400 sq. feet . It is open all through to allow heat to flow into every room. If you needed a heater in the bathroom you had only to ask. I had stayed a week before you came myself when it was 11 degress outside, and was quite comfortable. with the heater on medium, not High! also This is a new house, and there are no cracks in the door, so I dont appreciate all these gross exagerations you are making here. Also It is fully insulated from Ceiling to floor with the highest R value insullation! I wrote and explained all of this to you when you informed me you were leaving after 3 nights. Now, regarding your refund! You were informed of our cancelation policy when you reserved it, months before you wanted to stay. We have a Strict cancellation policy because cancellations are not good for any of us. so We need to avoid them as much as possible. This Strict Policy reads as follows: Travelers who cancel at least 60 Days BEFORE arrival , will recieve 100% of amount they paid. If they cancel after that time, they will not get a refund.. I have told you all of this before, but I am telling you again because of the mis information etc. you put on this review. Sincerely Ella
