This was advertised as sleeping 9. It does not. It is a lake cottage of modest size. Even with five adults you would be bumping elbows. No dressers in any bedroom, but there are closets. No laundry machines. Two 12” pantry shelves to fit your kitchen supplies or food. All other cabinets stuffed with mismatched cookware, plates & drinkware. Deck was nice but all furniture well covered in bird droppings that were not recent. I spent first morning of vacation going to Walmart 25 mins away to buy a bucket & scrub brush to clean deck furniture. Owner responded with a skeptical “sorry” 4 days later.Food crumbs & popcorn in creases of couches. Floors dirty. Not what you expect given steep cleaning fee.

Was a great time, was not sure which house it was , neighbors helped us. Everything in the house was great and worked out very well for us. Just was not sure what all we should do upon departing with bedding and towels and things like that.

Its prime location provides easy access to the lake and is only a 5-minute drive to the amusement park. The golf course is also conveniently located, making everything enjoyable and convenient. The property boasts two great decks, one with a fireplace, a gas grill, and a fully equipped kitchen. With top-notch amenities like a big-screen television and surround sound for rainy days, this rental combines cleanliness and an excellent location, making it the perfect place to call home. We have stayed at this property 3-4 years now always enjoy staying there and will continue to stay there. Very quiet area and nice property, and always have great communication with the property owner. Thanks again for having us.

Good layout inside and back decks were nice. But there is no curb appeal and when you shower smells like rotten eggs not sure if that is from well water. Was not mentioned on the website. Nice drive from Purdue University but longer than expected all back roads.

This property is just as advertised. The owner was very responsive and the house was very clean. It was just off the main lake in a channel and very quiet. My dad was able to easily tie his boat up without any issues after launching at the marina. It really was a great little place that allowed me to stay while I was back home visiting family.

Kitchen was well stocked with dishes. House was spotless. Fun card games available. Only issue was the AC that struggled on the 90 plus day. Very quiet seldom even saw a boat on the lake.

This was a perfect location for my and Purdue alumni getaway football weekend. Just a short drive to West Lafayette. The place was perfect ... good layout, great outdoor decks for evening fire. The place was very clean and we had everything we need for a perfect weekend. Thank you!

2nd year my family stayed at this site. only one problem-couldn't get shower in tub to operate from shower head instead of faucet

Perfect getaway for my family and I. If I could buy this home I would!!! The only thing I will add to future renters is the beware of a lot of poison ivy on the hill behind house and if you like to do night fishing there are no lights by the water so bring your own lights. If renters need firewood the closet gas station does have some. I will definitely rent again!

We rented this lake home for a get away with friends. The inside had been renovated, was comfortable and had many cooking extras like spices, and oil. The outside has two decks overlooking the water. Both need some updating and repairs, but are certainly good places to have a fire and watch the beautiful Lake Shafer sunsets. Lots of pictures were taken!
