Excellent house for a long weekend. Lake access for swimming and fishing. Fire pit for the late-night s'mores. Covered patio with eating area and social area. It was our favorite room of the house. Inside was small... but we wanted to live outside. Easy to get to Indiana Beach and a grocery store. A local restaurant/bar within walking distance. Just a nice place to reconnect with some busy teenagers.

The place was perfect for our family getaway. The property provided everything you would need for a stay. The dock being steps away was nice for my sons to enjoy

Best time of my life!

Had so much fun on the lake soaking in the sun, grilled steaks and chilled around fire pit. These memories will last a lifetime. Our family loved this comfy lake house.

House was just as described. Check in/out was easy!! Perfect for our 2 night getaway!! Would definitely book again! Perfect distance to Indiana Beach! Son enjoyed using the kayak

Wedding Getaway

Cutest little house on the lake. Super easy check in. Accessibility and communication with property manager was prompt and addressed all of our needs in real time. We would most definitely stay here again. It was the perfect little getaway to relax before my daughter's wedding.

Cute cottage

The cottage worked out very nicely for our brief stay and Michael responded quickly to any thing we needed. The lily pad was a big hit! Thanks Michael for a special time with my 96 year-old mom!

Communication with the host - top notch! Right on the water - with a dock to enjoy the view. We had some weather related issues - and the host did a great job communicating, ensuring we were safe and seeing if we needed anything.Thank you!This is a 3 bedroom (1 with access via the enclosed porch) one bath - but we had plenty of space for our family.

Great House, Great Location, Beautiful Water

Great house, everything you need. Very clean. Easy to communicate with the owner. Good A/C system made it nice for sleeping. There was 4 of us but this house could sleep 6 easily. Plenty of room.

Mike was great with answering questions and responding fast I absolutely love this lake house kids had a blast and we will definitely go again if I could give this place 20 stars I would!!!

Family Vacation

Pleasant interaction with Michael, the owner, before even staying at the home. Michael went above and beyond to answer questions, give information, and make sure we would have a fantastic stay. The home is charming and the pier and patio are beautiful. This was by far a 20 plus star experience. Thank you again Michael

Lake Shafer Cottage vacation

Cute little cottage. Very clean. Owner prompt to answer questions and easy to contact. We had a wonderful time relaxing with comfortable outside seating; especially down by lake and docks. We’re lucky to use new concrete patio on waters edge! Friendly neighbors nice area. Our daughter and grandsons sharing time togather. Thanks to Mike for sparing his lake house !

Great Cottage on the Lake

We stayed at this lakeside cottage for five days and overall had a good time. The cottage itself was cozy and clean, with three bedrooms that comfortably fit our group of six. The outdoor space was definitely a highlight — plenty of room to relax, soak up the sunshine, and take in the beautiful lake view.Unfortunately, the lake was quite full of algae during our stay, which made it unsuitable for swimming or fishing. That was disappointing, especially since we’d been looking forward to spending more time in the water. Thankfully, the kids still had a blast kayaking, and the peaceful setting made for some relaxing afternoons.Inside, everything was functional, but the bathroom water had a strange smell and discoloration that made us a bit uneasy.As for the surrounding town, it’s pretty quiet — not a lot of shopping options — but we did enjoy a visit to the nearby amusement park and checked out one of the local wineries. Golfers would probably enjoy the area too.All in all, it’s a nice spot if you're looking for a low-key retreat and plan to spend most of your time outdoors.

Lake stay

We had a wonderful time. Easy lake access with large pier! Teen kids had water fun all day. Close to amusement park. Lots of outdoor seating. Host was easily accessible!

Last Minute Trip Made Easy

We decided on the spur of the moment to rent a nearby place on the lake to enjoy the last of the fall sunshine. The owners made it easy and we were booked in no time. Even though the kitchen and living room was compact, it was cute, had everything we needed and could easily lodge 8 sleepers. We enjoyed our stay!

Great cottage, just bring your family and enjoy

Had a blast there with my family, very nice accommodations and the owner mike was great. Good fishing and just steps away from the water. We will be back in the future.
