The Shepherd’s Retreat is one of 4 rentals offered by Green Pastures Getaways. Set on our private 32-acre property just 5 minutes from I-65, this spacious 3-bedroom, 3-bath home sleeps up to 6 and overlooks beautiful rolling pastures where our flock of Katahdin sheep regularly grazes.



The home is full of character, with wide-plank floors, soaring wood ceilings, a large brick fireplace, antiques, original art and unique furnishings throughout. A huge picture window in the living area looks across the pasture, while the full kitchen and open living spaces provide plenty of room to relax and spend time together.



There are three comfortable bedrooms — two with king beds and one with a queen — along with three full bathrooms. The primary suite includes a jetted tub, large shower and access to a covered outdoor sitting area overlooking the property.

Outside is a big part of the Green Pastures experience. Guests of the Shepherd’s Retreat have access to the pool, along with porches and outdoor sitting areas, a fire pit and plenty of room to enjoy the property. Take a walk, watch the sheep, enjoy the birds and wildlife, or simply settle in for a quiet evening and a beautiful sunset. Deer, turkeys, hawks and other wildlife are frequent visitors.



Green Pastures feels wonderfully secluded, yet we’re convenient to Montevallo, Calera and Alabaster and approximately 35 minutes from downtown Birmingham.



Traveling with a larger group? The Cottage and The Studio at Green Pastures are also located on the 32-acre property and can be combined with the Shepherd’s Retreat to accommodate additional guests. Just ask us about the options.
