Not quite as advertised
Just finished our stay here. It was not quite as advertised. Penthouse apartment was structurally as advertised but not quite what we expected. The apartment was clean but the complex is quite old and paint chipping away from the exterior and grounds. The grounds were not as plush as pictures made them appear. Pool was very dirty and I had to inquire when they would be cleaning it. Everything is quite rusty and the lounge chairs were dirty. We walked to the beach area in front of our complex and there was trash everywhere. It appeared squatters may be living down there. The master bedroom flooded twice while we were there. We cleaned it up once with our designated towels and had to request more towels. The 2nd time it flooded I called the host to come clean it and figure out why it was flooding. They responded promptly and did so. The outlets were out in bathroom and kitchen. It appeared they already knew about the bathroom one. I requested more sheets as there were no blankets for daybed in living room. I was told no. We had to pull down microwave and toaster and use in living room due to no power. There are no closets anywhere to hang anything. Bar area at night was quaint but not enough chairs for all of us to sit. Loved the penthouse patio at night! This was our sanctuary once home. Power went out to the whole complex a number of times. We were told there was a strike at the power company. A book with restaurant recommendations would be nice.
