Lovely, quiet getaway
We had a wonderful weekend stay here! The property was very clean and had all the amenities we needed for a comfortable stay. Our trip was short, so we could not take full advantage of everything, though I wish we could! We loved how close we were to dipping our toes in the lake and liked the sandy beach area nearby. We also loved using the gliders on the balcony to enjoy some reading time and take in views of the lake. I only have a couple of recommendations, but they certainly did not significantly affect our visit. There are hard-to-see transitions into the kitchen and bedroom and I nearly tripped a couple of times. I would recommend adding a full-length mirror in the unit. The only large mirror is in the bathroom, so it was challenging for 2 adults to get ready at the same time. There is a small vanity mirror in the bedroom, but it is not easy to use. The vanity chair, while visually appealing, sits too far below the desk so it was not functional. Overall, my husband and I enjoyed a very nice stay and this was a beautiful place to relax. We hope to return to the area with our little one in the future!

Perfect Spot for Two!
Well appointed and clean condo with fantastic views! We loved the covered deck and location within this fabulous community on Smith mountain Lake! Quality appliances with stone counters and upgraded bathroom made this a very comfortable stay for the two of us. We expect to be back here again!

Great Neighborhood
Barnards Landing was a great neighborhood to take some quiet time and also have several amenities. This was my first time at Smith Mountain Lake and it was beautiful and the condo was perfect for what I needed.

Great location and view
The condo was clean! Not much counter space but the stovetop cutting board was perfect for adding space needed. We appreciated the white storage cabinet being empty to use for our pantry items. Perfect condo for two people! Nice finishes but please get rid of the matted shag area rug in the living room! Also the low, uncomfortable sofa was the only seating. The bath towels were not fluffy, resort quality. Shutter doors on outside of peninsula were falling apart and pots and kitchen items in these cabinets were disorganized and not easily accessible.

Thank you Dawn for your stay and review. I asked my housekeepers to follow up on some of your feedback today. They investigated the area rug and identified no issues. They also went through and made sure to group similar cookware together in the cabinets. The towels are spa style with a waffle pattern on one side and traditional terry cloth on the other. My housekeepers reported damage to the doors outside the peninsula immediately following your stay and had no concerns reported prior. We are in the process of addressing the damage.

Wonderful stay
My wife and I stayed there for our birthday weekend. Checked in Friday and checked out on Sunday. Communication with the owner was awesome! He was very responsive. The condo was beautiful, inside and out. The view was amazing. I wish we could have stayed the whole week and done more things, checked out more of the amenities. I don’t know how we could have been happier.

Can't be any better!
From start to finish, our stay was nothing short of extraordinary. First and foremost, the location, it was absolutely breathtaking. Nestled amidst nature's wonders, it offered stunning views that truly took my breath away. The accommodations was simply exquisite. The attention to detail and the level of comfort provided were beyond compare. The rental was immaculately clean, beautifully furnished, and well equipped. One of the standouts, was the exceptional hospitality extended by the hosts. Chris was friendly, and incredibly accommodating, ensuring that every aspect of my stay was enjoyable. His attention to detail and commitment to customer satisfaction were commendable, from offering valuable local insights to promptly addressing any queries or concerns. Furthermore, the facilities and amenities provided at Bernard's Landing were top-notch. The well-maintained swimming pool, fitness center, sauna, beach area ... added an extra layer of relaxation and entertainment to my our getaway. Last but not least, the proximity of property to local attractions and points was another highlight. In conclusion, WE WILL BE BACK!

Anniversary Getaway

Super host. Gorgeous place.
The host "Chris" is very acessable. And answered any and every question (no matter how big or small) before, and during my stay. I was pleased 100% with my stay. I lived in the area, but moved to another state. The views of the lake and mountains has been severely missed. It's off season, so it was peaceful and quiet. Very, enjoyable. Thank you, so much. It's was what the soul needed.

Great winter condo
I had another great stay at this condo. It's prefect for cold winter days (although the weather was in the 50s!). Well appointed kitchen for warm drinks, fireplace, fantastic shower with tons of hot water for warming up after a day outside hiking.

Wonderfully peaceful!
We wanted for nothing staying here. The apartment was lovely and everything we would want or need was provided when it came to towels and kitchen appliances and dishes; even down to salt and pepper haha! Beautiful property and the apt and grounds were clean and well kept. The view is stunning. Communication with the manager was amazing and he responded quickly to any questions we had. We cannot wait to come back!

Perfect relaxing Autumn getaway!
The whole process of booking this property under VRBO was very easy and communication from the owner, Chris, was outstanding. He was readily available if we needed anything, although, we didn’t. Awesome spot
Rented this for 3 nights in late August and it was great! The location of this complex is the best spot on the lake! Awesome views, not too far from town. It was clean although the shower doors were a bit cloudy but that is the only thing I noticed. Go to Captains Quarters about 15 minutes away to rent boats. No deposit required there. Beach was awesome at the resort but we didn’t make it to the pool. Friendly neighbors- except the ones directly above the unit were quite noisy in the early morning each day. Sounded like they kept moving furniture around or they are Bigfoots family. I would definitely stay here again!

Loved it!
This property was clean and nicely appointed with nice finishes and very comfortable bed and sofa. The TVs were large and had a variety of streaming services.The owner was friendly and responded to our questions quickly. Bernard's landing has great amenities and the view of the lake from this property is just perfect. We enjoyed our stay so much that we've already rebooked for next spring.

Hi Kristin, sorry to hear about the ants(but certainly would have cared for the situation even sooner if notified). With all the rain in recent days they have decided to come out of the ground and inside. We have completed a special pest control treatment to remedy the ant situation.

Nice stay at the lake
We had a nice stay at this property for a wedding weekend. The owner was very responsive and check in was easy. The location is great, overlooking the lake and a quick walk across the grass to the little beach. Could use a few more towels (only 2 bath towels and one hand towel), but overall a nice stay.

Another Fantastic Stay
I'm a frequent visitor at this condo (best on the lake--and I've stayed a lot of places!), but I've never stayed when it was 97 degrees with humidity off the charts. Typically, the condos in this complex get very hot--the sun pours into the big sliders. But not this condo, it stayed nice and cool throughout the day. I usually rave about the shower--how nice it is to get a hot waterfall shower after a long day outside in the cold. It was just as refreshing with a nice cool waterfall after a long day outside in the heat. I highly recommend this condo!
