Monasterio de la Trinidad y San Sergio

A World UNESCO Heritage site declared since 1993, this Russian Orthodox monastery is slightly over an hour from Moscow. It is worth making the day trip here as both the interior and exterior are colourful and interesting to look at!

A painting on one exterior wall of the monastery. Sorry, I don't remember the name and didn't take note when I was there. Tried searching on the Internet but found no information on most paintings!
The Bell Tower.

Sergiev Posad is also the birthplace of Russian dolls and if you are interested in collecting them this is one of the best place to shop for them!

As for the origin and history of the monastery, check it out in InYourPocket.com

Love the very different style of architecture here. It is much more rural and humble but still equally impressive!
