Please note that automated distance information can be misleading in rural areas. Although some places may appear close “as the crow flies,” walking routes are often impractical.

Situated in the heart of the Garfagnana, in the depths of the countryside, with mountain views, but only 600M by foot to a restaurant (2km by car), and just over a 5-minute drive from another, this peaceful retreat is also convenient with lots of eating choices within 15 minutes.
The location is equidistant from the towns of Castelnuovo di Garfagnana, and Gallicano, both of which are under a 15-minute drive away, and both of which have shops, bars, restaurants, weekly market and a train station for easy exploring. There is also a hypermarket in Gallicano which is 20 minutes from the house.
The beautiful town of Barga with its cathedral, art, regular outdoor music and evening markets is also renowned for its restaurants and is only a 20-minute drive.
Lucca – the walled mediaeval city is a 45 minute drive. Cycle the walls, meander the cobbled streets, relax in the Piazzas or listen to opera or concerts from renowned acts.
