The property was in receivership. No one was at the front desk. It looked abandoned.

Check in was easy, room was adequate and had what we needed for the night, staff was helpful. Biggest disappointment was the non-existent breakfast that was supposed to be included.

The place had no record of my reservation. It was under “new management”. The office was in total disarray, even the phone was disconnected. It smelled of smoke, heavy smoke. There were no services and when the owner was called they were put on the spot and had to show me a room. They recommended another place that the owner had down the road. Yikes!!!

Weirdly enough, the cleanest place was the bathroom. If you're hesitant and reading this before booking, just don't.

If you need to sleep and can ignore the condition and care of the place, this will do. The tv didn’t work… it was plugged into nothing. No sheets on the bed… just fitted and comforter, if you want to call it that. Anyway, I survived and hit the road for Sturgis.

We drove into the parking lot and didn’t get out of the car, even though we paid for the room. We drove to the next town and chose to forfeit our fees.

While the desk clerk was friendly & helpful, the condition of this hotel was very poor & run down. The beds/room were tolerable ( tho one bedspread had a cigarette hole & bleach stain), but hallways smelled of smoke & carpet baseboard was falling off the walls. Door also only shut securely when deadbolt was in place. "Breakfast" consisted of one container of Raisin bran cereal w milk in the fridge and bread for toast w PB & jelly. I try not to be highly critical & go with the flow being its just a stop on the way traveling, but this building was just sad.

I had booked a room here thru this site. When we arrived it is not the Mitchell Inn, it is a Rodeway Inn. We never even entered the building as we not impressed with the people hanging around outside the building, nor did we feel safe leaving our Harley unattended. This is not a "fair" review, but sometimes you have to follow your instincts.

This property was extremely rundown and dirty. It had broken windows and air conditioners missing from the wall obvious from the exterior. I canceled my reservation immediately. I wouldn’t wish a stay at this location on my worst enemy.

No breakfast as stated. Window did not lock. Plugging a lamp and tv into a power strip and it hanging in the air is not very safe.
