Forest Service Type Cabins 30 Miles outside Missoula--

  • El ELKHORN CABIN es una cabaña de caza y pesca RÚSTICA construida a principios de los años sesenta. Cabañas Rock Creek es de 40 min. del centro y el aeropuerto de Missoula. Aislado de la carretera principal a aproximadamente media milla, pero todavía con minutos de Blue Ribbon Fishing. Las comodidades son rústicas, con una letrina orgánica justo atrás y una casa de duchas a 60 pies de distancia. Hay una cocina completa con estufa eléctrica, fridg, agua fría (excepto en invierno), cafetera y tostadora. Ollas y sartenes - platos--. Sábanas y mantas, estufa de leña con leña provista. Hay 3 camas queen size, una es un sofá plegable. TV de pared dvd y películas. También hay un pequeño arroyo de truchas que sale por la puerta trasera.

    Pozo de fuego --- parrilla --- cubierta delantera.

    Hay una pequeña corriente que los vientos atraviesan la propiedad llena de truchas asesinas.
    Caminata por la puerta de atrás a los acantilados y una vista de la zona de Rock Creek.

    Aislado a media milla de la carretera principal. Blue Ribbon Pesca una milla por camino. Esquí de fondo --- conducir en esquí fuera

    No recibo ninguna información sobre las reservas los fines de semana porque nuestras cabañas están fuera de la red.

Our accommodations were nestled deep within a breathtakingly remote canyon. The cabin itself, cozy and welcoming, felt like a private sanctuary, perfectly tucked away from the hustle and bustle. The towering canyon walls, rising sharply on either side, created a dramatic and awe-inspiring backdrop, making every moment spent there in the beauty of nature.Mike, our host was wonderful. The dogs loved the site.

Rustic and exactly what we wanted

Loved the character of this rustic no frills cabin. Perfect for those wanting to get away from it all who don't need a fancy lodge. The fishing was great and I can't wait to return.

Breathtakingly beautiful location, the cabin was a perfect home away from home when we weren’t out hiking or fishing. It was so fun to have the creek and wildlife right out the door. Thank you for sharing your little piece of paradise Mike and Trudy, you were wonderful hosts and you betcha we’ll be back don’t ya know.

The location and facilities of this gem are perfect for those wanting to get off grid and spend time enjoying the best of Montana. The cabin is rustic as described but the kitchen, shower, and outhouse facilities are convienient. Mike is a great host, very helpful and good for some great tips on fishing spots. Supplies are only about a few miles away if needed. A peaceful spot near some great fishing, I will be back!

We really enjoyed our 3 day stay at the Elkhorn cabin! Everything you need and much more comfortable than tent camping in the pouring rain. The cabin does have an outhouse so if you’re not expecting a flush toilet, may want to look for something a little fancier. We will be back, thanks for your hospitality Mike!

Rock Creek cabins are a dream!!!

Love the Elkhorn cabin on Brewster Creek! Great hiking, flora and fauna, and some gold mining history thrown in. Mike is communicative, delightful, and a wealth of information. Didn't want to leave. Looking forward to next time.

Great little place well off the beaten path. Anglers paradise, seconds from Rock Creek. Moose off the back porch two mornings in a row and a couple full curl rams just around the corner. Rustic little cabin with all the amenities of home. Less the intrusion of internet and cell. Outstanding place to stay if your in the Clinton Missoula area.

Peaceful and rejuvenating

If peace is what you are looking for, this is it! We got a much needed rejuvenation. Was a cute little cabin in a very quiet setting with a stream running close enough to hear while dozing off to sleep. Will definitely be back when its not raining to take advantage of the campfire!

Wilderness and fishing!

Wilderness and fishing! Being one who is not a fishing enthusiast, it was still a delightfully wonderful off grid experience. Calm, quiet, zillions of stars and the kindest host one could imagine. Played by guitar and relaxed amid the sounds of gurgling rock creek. Highly recommend.

In the woods

One needs to be ready for a true camping experience not glamping. It truly is a rustic setting and camping style of old time mountain man. If you looking for glamorous camping trip you best find something else. Beautiful setting with wild life all about.

Excellent rustic experience

We chose a rustic cabin with cold running water. Bathroom is an outhouse and shower is a separate short walk from cabin. Has hot water! Very simple and delightful stay with all the basics we needed. Mike is very engaging and helpful. We will be returning.

Wilderness cabin...

As stated in listing this is a very rustic cabin. It is so remote we saw Big Horn Sheep everyday. I really enjoyed it but was a bit rough for my wife and daughter. We had fun and Michael was awesome... very helpful and informative. I'd recommend it for those outdoor types who don't mind walking to the outhouse...lol. Great trout fishing nearby.

Unforgettable Experience

This is a hunting camp. The water comes from a creek, and there is an outhouse. It is old, and it is not luxurious in any way. But if you like having a trout stream out back and possibly a big horn sheep in the yard, you will love it like we did. Our dog liked it even better.

Great Cabin!

The electricity and cold sink water felt like glamping! We had bighorn sheep and deer in the yard. Such a great experience and comfortable for the price. This is off grid but you have service just a few miles away. PERFECT getaway near Missoula!
