Comfy, great location, nice view

Great location. A few meters away from the street. Decent size room , big bathroom. NO bed sheet to cover yourself with; only blanket. Very welcoming host. The kitchen on rooftop was great for the view but very filthy sink. Of course certain people do not clean after themselves. I recommend the maid cleans everyday. Overall great stay

Guest House ligger i anden række fra den trafikerede vej, men da vi boede på 1.sal dækkede havens træer for en del støj. Vi kunne dog skimte havet mellem træerne. Sengen super, varmt vand fint, lidt beskidt affaldsspand på badeværelset og toilettet lidt utæt. Dejlig altan. Morgenmad på rooftop er ok, men de ved ikke hvordan man toaster brød. hyggeligt sted tæt ved Turtle Beach og væk fra de store hoteller og mange turister. Madam er hjælpsom med togtider og transport til station.

Nice stay

The apartment is well situated. Just a short walk to Mirissa Beach. The owner is very friendly and gave us a warm welcome. Nice quality for reasonable pricing. Breakfast was good.

Recommended

Don't let the place outside, in the garden, fool you. The rooms are nice and the breakfast is good. Isharas hospitality makes one humble. It's also located very close to the coconut hill.

5night stay at Peacock Wings Guest House

We had a wonderful 5 night stay at Peacock Wings Guest House. The owner couldn’t have been more helpful. She gave us plenty of information about the local area and made a delicious Sri Lankan breakfast every morning. The room was large and comfortable with a nice balcony. The location is just across the street from a small beach that we visited everyday. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend!

Really Location with nice ocean view

Calm, clean and comfortable location with nice sea view. Condition is very good. Staff was very helpful. Value for money. I will come again this place.

No View, Noisy Dangerous Street, Beach Not Close

Such a disappointment. Falsely advertised! I write a lot of reviews. We travel a lot. We love to stay in small family run places. This place was so bad we left after only one night. No views, very noisy, dangerous street to walk on, and the beach is not close. We traveled all over Sri Lanka before arriving - in each place we stayed in small locally owned places, all with wonderful breakfasts and each with wonderful dinners offered (for an extra price or included). The price here is high by Sri Lanka standards for what you get. Better options out there. Peacock Wings is advertised on hotels.com as "ocean view" "sea view" "24 hour room service" and I was told before arrival we could order a pay for dinner. All FALSE. The property is not ocean or sea view. It is located across the main road with a trees and a building in front, then the street, then buildings on the other side of the street. The street in front is extremely noisy at all times. Forget about sitting out on the porch or leaving the doors to balcony open. The street with rushing traffic is also very dangerous. When we arrived mid morning, I asked for dinner that night and was told it was not available. This was a huge disappointment as the family cooked dinners in Sri Lanka are usually fantastic. The electricity was out on arrival. For hours. The breakfast was okay. Good coffee. We left after one night. The owners lied to us on not charging for unused nights!

VALUE ACCOMODATION IN THE HEART OF MIRRISSA

WE FOUND THE ROOM TIDY AND THE BED COMFORTABLE. THE BALCONY WAS GOOD AND YOU CAN SEE THE BEACH FROM THE ROOF TOP BREAKFAST AREA. THE MONKEYS IN THE TREES OUTSIDE THE ROOM WAS EXCITING TO WATCH. THE CONCRETE DECOR WAS A BIT BLAND. THE MANAGER WAS FRIENDLY AND HELPFUL.

52/5000 Disappointment because lack of furniture

To start the gate of the garden was not enough open and I damaged by motorcycle that fell by wanting to open it myself which cost me 30 € repair. The street is very noisy because there is a lot of traffic and it is also very dangerous because the buses and the trucks double dangerously. However, I was very well received by a lovely lady and found the room, the bathroom and the spacious balcony because big enough all three. On the other hand the comfort is very rudimentary because there was only a big bed, a mini tablet, a small bedside table in stone, a chair and an easel to put his stuff. No furniture to put his suitcases, no desk, no table anything on the balcony apart from a kind of stone bench uncomfortable because also cushion to soften the hardness of the stone. In addition I did not like the patinated concrete floor and the walls and floor of the bathroom which are also patinated concrete. Finally they both have the color of concrete but the touch is smooth. Another very negative point. A very small part of the garden is maintained without any flowers. The rest is a real dump. There is even a construction site. In addition there is no balcony overlooking the sea because trees mask up to the 2nd floor. There is only the third floor on the left side where you can see partially the sea which happens to be the restaurant which includes 6 tables with plastic chairs and a rough concrete floor not very warm as a frame.

Nice place just a bit too far for walking everywhe

We recently spent 4 nights here and the room was very comfortable and spacious. Hot water in the bathroom, a very confortabke matress, A/C, a ceiling fan, 4 posters bed with mosquito net and a private balcony (room on the 1st floor). We did not have breakfast here so we cannot comment on the quality of food. The area was quiet at night and safe. The guesthouse is located approx 700 mt away from the main area where most of the restaurants/cafes are located although there some eateries along the way. You will be walking on the main street, with no real sidewalk, with buses/tuks tuks/cars rushing by you. Make sure you have a flashlight when going out at night. We rented a scooter for a couple of days and we personally found it more comfortable than walking (especially in the heat of midday or at night). Although we enjoyed having a private balcony and being on the first floor, the "so called sea view", is really just a glimpse of some blue, across the street and other properties on the other side of the road, thru the trees.

Graziosa guesthouse a due passi dalla spiaggia

Appena arrivati ci hanno accolto è sistemato nella nostra camera. Personale gentilissimo e camera molto spaziosa e curata con un bellissimo bagno e un terrazzo che dava sul giardino. La spiaggia era letteralmente a 50 metri. Fantastiche le colazioni sulla terrazza, abbondanti e squisite. Mirissa Beach a 5 minuti di cammino o un minuto scarso di tuk tuk. Lo consiglio vivamente.

Great, relaxing stay!

Guest house is 10 minute walk away from busy area of town which is nice. Very relaxing view of ocean from both the balcony attached to room and the breakfast location on the roof. Staff was very nice. PLEASE NOTICE THAT EXPEDIA.IN CHARGES INDIAN RUPEES AND NOT SRI LANKAN RUPEES.

Enjoy the stay

The room is very clean, good size. Like the terrace and mosquito net. Only one down side is the small soap is not new, it's used and wet, just wrapped with toilet paper. But still nice place. We like it.

Vi bodde i unawatuna för att sola och bada . Riktigt fin strand och härlig avkoppling. Vi hängde väldigt mycket ute på grund av att vårt hotellrum luktade mögel och det kröp myror över hela badrums väggarna så vi ville helst vara sova och sedan gå. Vi fick ett rum på nedervåningen på hotellet så kan inte svara på hur rummen är på övervåningen. Men usch undervåningen var ingen hit. Rekommenderar inte detta. Även fast det är billigt ska det inte lukta mögel och krypa myror på väggarna.

Alright budget option

We stayed in the newer building towards the back. Slightly overpriced at £20. Cheaper rooms available close by but standard is not as good (older) firm mattress with just a single sized sheet for double bed. No breakfast incl. wi-fi not working (not much better anywhere in Mirissa to be fair!) Nice new shower and bathroom. Lady who runs place is nice enough (with standard sales pitches but not aggressive with it). Walkable to beach in 15mins otherwise defo no more than 100r in tuk tuk.

Valsafari i Mirissa.

Vi har jämfört detta boende med liknande boenden i Sri Lanka, därav dom höga betygen. Servicen är i toppklass. Vad man än frågade om så fick man svar på det. Det tar ca 5 minuter att gå till stranden där det finns ett stort utbud av restauranger som serverar nyfångad fisk/skaldjur. Man har möjlighet att hyra scooter. Dom hjälper även till att ordna utflykter så som valsafari (whalewatching) samt safari i någon av nationalparkerna, vi hyrde en egen bil samt chaufför av boendet under 4 dagar. Det är rent på rummet, både fläkt och A/C. Man får sin frukost serverad på balkongen, vi fick olika sorters frukost alla dagar vi var där vilket var trevligt, då fick man möjlighet att pröva på rätter ifrån Sri Lanka redan på morgonen. Det finns wi-fi som ibland går lite långsamt. Detta boende rekommenderas.
