Absolutely Wonderful Home

Really, a perfect stay. The home is located in a private, gate-controlled community just off of Emerald Coast Parkway, and you're minutes in either direction from literally everything. In the opposite direction with just a 5-minute walk, you're on the beach. The house was spotless and extremely well appointed with enough kitchen supplies to get you through a week. Towels and starter toiletries are provided and much appreciated. Communication with Ocean Reef was wonderful. We did have a need to call on a Sunday as we had the opportunity to check in early and the door code didn't work. They picked up immediately and solved our problem in minutes. I loved the text reminders throughout the week and offer to help with any issues - but we didn't have any. The pool was clean and there are plenty of inflatables available, although we brought our own. We will definitely stay here again without hesitation.

Spring break

The house was great. Plenty of room and a very close walk to the beach. The neighborhood was very nice. We love to cook and everything we needed to prepare meals was in the house, all pots and pans, made making big meals easy. Would definitely stay again.

Great beach location and private pool

We had a perfect week and would come back to the area again! The house was well appointed and accurately described in the reviews and owner descriptions. Literally 1 block walk to the beach, the gate to the beach was glitchy and didn’t always work, even for others who approached after us. The only complaint for the house was that both shower curtains needed to be replaced or washed.

Amazing house for family vacation

We stayed the first week in April. The house is amazing and setup well for a family of 5. There is a full kitchen with a Keurig machine. The outdoor area was amazing. We loved the pool and grill. It was so nice to just grill out hamburgers and hotdog for lunch. This house provided so many beach items… toys, chairs, bikes etc. This was our best trip yet and we will be back next year!

Outstanding rental property

This location is wonderful. It’s a short walk to the beach, restaurants, and shopping. The property was easy to check in. The host was responsive and quick to answer any messages. The bicycles and wagon are very useful. The pool and grill are very nice to have. We have been renting in the Miramar beach area for 10+ years. This is an outstanding rental house. Kudos to the owner. No issues with HVAC, plumbing, or electric. Nice kitchen, clean comfortable furniture and bedding. Well done!!

Great Property with a great location

This property was a great fit for our family. We enjoyed the ability to prepare our own meals in the well stocked kitchen. The pool was a great addition and helped the family wind down after a long day. The neighborhood is very quiet but it is just a short walk to the beach. The wagon that was provided is a lifesaver when taking the family to the private beach! Overall this is an excellent property and we would recommend it to anyone going to Destin.

Everything we were hoping for

We rented this house for two families (4 adults, 3 kids). It was perfect for us. The kids loved the bunk room. The house was so close to the most beautiful beach (maybe 5 minute walk at most). We paid to have the pool heated which was so worth it. (It was chilly at night still the week of Easter). The house supplied everything you need, plenty of bath AND beach towels, beach chairs (many in addition to the two provided with an umbrella at the private beach), bikes for adults and kids (made it easy to come back to the house from the beach for bathroom breaks), sand toys, pool toys, beach wagon, plenty of hooks for hanging towels and suits, tv was not a smart TV (which was fine we brought an HDMI cable and were able to stream through our laptop), kitchen had everything you need—even a working blender:). Bottom line we had a great vacation and would definitely recommend this place:).

Loved that we was within walking distance to the beach because oceanfront isn’t safe with my son who is autistic and a fast runner! Lol. The private pool was perfect for him and my momma while I could take my other child to the beach:) great lil get away!

Pros and cons

Pros- close 5 minute walk to the beach- close restaurants- clean house- good communication- close to everything Cons- nowhere to park the golf cart at the beach- outside lights broken so after light pool area was very dark- all beds are EXTREMELY hard and uncomfortable- broken gate outside flapping in the wind kept us up one night-

Wonderful home close to the beach! Heated pool was amazing!

We really enjoyed our spring break spent here! Before our trip, Nora was very easy to message with as I had several questions about what we needed to bring and about heating the pool. We paid the extra fee to have the pool heated, and it was well worth it! We swam every day of our trip! The pool was our 5 year old’s favorite part of our trip. We had brought our own pool floats and pool noodles (just personal preference). There was at least one pool float in the garage. We really enjoyed the time we spent at the beach. Two days were too windy to stay there (the sand was blowing around), but the other days were beautiful. The beach wagon in the garage was very helpful to help us carry everything to the beach. There is a dedicated area inside the beach gate for guests to park their wagons. We had brought our own pair of beach chairs (since we had 4 adults), beach toys, and beach towels, but the house had all of those things already provided, as well as many boogie boards. We loved the easy walk to the beach and the pair of chairs and beach umbrella set up there (thank you for providing that for your guests!). The beach attendant was very friendly and helpful. We especially enjoyed treats from the ice cream truck that stopped regularly at the top of the beach stairs. The ocean water was nice, but strong rip tide currents prevented swimming almost every day. That didn’t bother us at all as we like to relax on the beach and build sand castles instead. We really enjoyed the house. The family room was very nice as was the large dining table. The only things we wished the kitchen had were a Keurig coffee maker and foil (to line the baking pans). We did wish the dinner plates weren’t so heavy and large as they took up so much space in the dishwasher and were heavy when washed by hand. The dishwasher needed to be restarted several times, so not sure if it needs to be serviced and/or replaced. The washer and dryer worked well. The bedrooms were well-furnished and had nice, clean bedding. We discovered that the queen size bed was noisy (it seems like the mattress springs were making all of the noise?). Perhaps a new mattress is needed in that room. The bunk room was very nice with two bunk beds. We appreciated that the top bunks had railings all around the beds—great safety and security feature. The master bedroom and bathroom were very nice. We definitely would stay here again! Thank you for hosting us and for maintaining such a nice house!

The Great Escape

This is a great property that offered everything we were looking for. The pool was great and we paid the extra to have it heated and it was well worth the extra cost. The kids were in the pool every day. It was also very private and quiet.

Great stay close to beach

It was a very clean property close to the beach and with a nice pool. The home has a nice layout but the furniture was not very comfortable and felt pretty worn but it was all very clean and the convenience to the beach made it worthwhile. The owner lives next door and is around.

Our choice for Destin!

We purchased pool heat during 12/25/21 – 1/1/2022. We debated but so glad we did. It was warm and ready for our arrival about 9 p.m. Outside temps ranged from low to mid 70s with a breeze and constantly rolling gulf waters, which we could pleasantly hear sitting pool side. We were able to swim comfortably. The back yard is very relaxing with the quiet neighborhood and beautiful palm tree lined fence. The house is comfortably set up for 8 people, including pool area and inside dining. It’s great for everything from dining together to playing cards and board games and we did! There were plenty of additional bath towels & beach towels. Housekeeping takes pride in their work as previous reviews mentioned the house is spotless, including the AC/furnace vents! This is especially helpful for families who suffer with allergies and asthma. We’ve been renting vacation houses and cabins since 2002 and vents are usually overlooked. I don’t understand with it being a health and maintenance issue. The private beach is a relaxing 10-minute walk. Currently, there is no parking available. There is a small area for bikes, strollers, wagons, etc. Public beach access is nearby for those needing to drive. The beach is a total contrast to the south. As advertised, the sand is like sugar with no shells. Visitors respect the area as there was no trash. This was our first vacation to Destin. At least at this time of year the area seems to be a quieter group of folks than farther south. The water sports had closed for the season but there were plenty of alternatives, restaurants, shopping, etc. As with most rentals we’ve had, you will need your own additional toiletries such as bath tissue, paper towel, dish washing, and laundry. We pack two totes, one with kitchen ware, bath & cleaning items and one with dry groceries to limit our time grocery shopping on vacation. As mentioned, the kitchen is stocked well, the cookware is fantastic and the house is very traveler friendly with storage in pantry, utility room and linen closet in the master bath. Nothing was cluttered with items left from past renters. We met Nora by chance. She is very welcoming and accommodating. We had no issues with the house, but it was comforting knowing she was close by if needed. We look forward to renting from her again should we return to the Destin area.

Wonderful vacation for our family!

The property was well maintained, extremely clean and in a quiet neighborhood. Everyone we encountered in the neighborhood was very friendly and helpful. The house had everything we needed and then some. The process of booking, checking in and out was a breeze. My only concern was that the property was listed as having the heated pool, which made me think it would be heated at all times. There was an additional charge to heat the pool which was a significant cost for our family, which was why we chose not to heat it. The kids didn’t seem to mind swimming in the cold water, but I could not get in. Overall everyone had a great time and would definitely stay here again. We have already recommended the house to friends of ours.

Amazing Vacation

Such a perfect spot for a family vacation. Nora is an amazing host and is so quick to address anything that comes up. A quick walk to the beach, awesome pool in the back, quiet neighborhood. Really couldn't ask for more. Can't wait to go back!

Great little house!

Had a wonderful time staying here! Short trip to the beach, private pool, wagon and some bikes, everything we needed! Tons of towels, which is nice. I do wish the bedding and pillows were a little nicer. But I should've brought my own pillow, my mistake for forgetting. I've already recommended this place to some friends, and hope to visit again

Family Getaway

Our family included three people staying in the house and four others staying in two RV parks. The house is in a quiet neighborhood, and became headquarters for several indoor/outdoor meals and pool enjoyment. We averaged twice-a-day visits to the beach which is about a 10-minute walk away. Bikes and pool/beach toys are on site, and the owner is promptly available for any questions or concerns. We enjoyed our stay.

A wonderful vacation!

We loved everything about the property including the folks we rented from. Great pool right out the back door and private too. The house was very comfortable and clean with a nice kitchen and open floor plan. We stayed as a couple, but there are two more bedrooms, one with four bunks! A quick walk to a private beach with beach chairs and umbrella waiting on you when you arrive. Restaurants in walking distance too. We rented a golf cart for the week and could drive it to any place we needed to go, including grocery stores. Can’t wait to come back!
