Don’t rent this property

“Painted Porch” was a disappointment from the start of our vacation. We found a flat tire on one of the bikes and were not able to use it for 3 days. The kitchen was poorly stocked. No hooks to hang up our wet towels and not enough closet space for the number of beds.,There were 3 pool lounges for a house that was advertised to host up to 6 people. 2 out of 3 lounges were unusable due to huge rips in the fabric. Overall a very disappointing house and service. Definitely not worth the price point. We won’t rest again with Ocean Reef.

Perfect beach getaway

My hubby and I stayed here for a week and it was awesome! The ocean was really rough so it was so nice to have a private pool to relax in since we couldn't swim much at the beach. The house is older and has a very cutesy vintage beach vibe. The bed in the main bedroom was so comfortable!! The kitchen had everything we needed to cook a few meals at home. Everything was very clean including the pool! We will definitely stay here again! The beach access was a little confusing despite them including a picture of it because there were othere access doors that looked like the one we were supposed to use. Turns out we were using the wrong one. The beach is a little bit of trek but after driving for 7 hours to get there, a few blocks to walk isn't a deal breaker. Plenty of good restaurants in the area and winn dixie was about a 5 minute drive. The area was so beautiful and very quiet. Everyone is in bed by 10pm so no late night craziness. I highly recommend this house!!! My one and only complaint is it would be nice if there was a little more privacy around the pool area. Like maybe some bigger trees or bushes. Everyone walking by could see in the pool and we would have preferred a little more privacy. Other than that this place was perfect for us and we loved it!

Not as Listed/Horrible Management

When we first arrived, the pool that we had spoken to someone about, was not heated, bathroom sink clogged after first use, on call maintenance man, Ples, informed me to “stop acting childish & grow up” then hung up on me, when asking if he made sure properties were ready, his name & what he can do. Since he informed us, we had to wait until morning for plumber (that never showed) with horrible service for an on call tech. Sheets had some grossness on it, never got changed. Nightstand had a booger with hair sticking on it. Shower caddy in bathroom rusted, extremely rusted. Cracked shower pan, towels washed with some orange stains on them. We were informed by management that pool tech gave some lame excuse for pool heater not being on. Which is funny, because the last night when it was colder, it ran most of the night. VRBO’s site does NOT state there was construction EVERYWHERE around you. Management company states it is on their website, which I’m still jot positive why I would go to their site when I purchased and had all the other information on VRBO. Otherwise, why use a third party site?? Sawdust on all outside stuff, including in pool. Pots & pans had burnt/scraped bottoms. Definitely not as described, management company, Ocean Reef, is NOT worth staying with again.

Family vacation

Very nice place for small family getaway. Place is small so wouldn’t recommend more that just one nuclear family. We have 2 smaller kids so it worked well for us. Older place but the kitchen looks to have been recently updated. Pool is nice and appears relatively new. Excellent location to the beach which is just a short walk away. Not a bunch of bells and whistles but a good place for family getaway

Beach week

The pool was the best feature of this property. However, the patio was lacking....table only provided seating for 4,(we had 6) umbrella so small that it didn't even provide shade for the entire table...for the size of the patio it would have been nice to have 2 large umbrellas. Would also have been nice to have outdoor lighting for the patio/pool area for the evening. Minimal beach amenities,..2 beach chairs provided. Kitchen needs to be inventoried.... only 6 forks and fry pans so scratched that Teflon coating peeling. Communication with office provided no follow up....called because beach code was inaccurate and beach wrist bands were not provided. We were given the new code which did work and told the wrist bands would be dropped off that evening. They were not so we called again the next day, different person said they would be dropped off that day but we really didn't need them. They were never dropped off and luckily we did not need them. However, it did make us wonder what kind of response we would have gotten if we really did have a problem! Upon checkout we were told to leave the wristbands on the counter or we would be charged. We explained we had never received wristbands. We ended up not being charged. To sum up, nothing special about this property....although it could be!

Enjoyed our stay

We had a great spring break week with our 4 kids (ages 12-19). The short walk to the beautiful beach access gate was about 5 minutes. We paid to have the pool heated and it was perfect for night swimming and to cool off during the day. The house is compact but we fit comfortably with 6 of us. Our only complaints would be lack of clothing storage (no dressers) and we could have used another set of plates so we weren’t always doing dishes. We really loved the house for the pool and proximity to the beach!

Great house

The house was great for our family of 6. We had plenty of space and the pool was amazing. I really appreciated the added safety of the child door safety locks at the top of the exterior doors, especially the one to the pool. It made me feel secure in the fact that none of my four young kids/toddlers could get outside unassisted. The beach was a short, easy walk, but the pool was the big hit for my kids. We added having it heated and it was well worth it since it was still in the low 70s while we were there. We would stay here again!

Great House!

We needed a little get away and this house was perfect. The pool was such a great way to relax and the heated feature was a game changer. The only thing I would say is the kitchen is missing some key items for cooking. Otherwise we really enjoyed the location and the space!
