We like the location of Villa Lago, because it’s close to our family who live in Burnt Pine. We always need extra accommodations for family who all meet up in Destin for Christmas. We reached out multiple times about not having Internet connection for the TVs and WiFi, and no one ever addressed the issue. The x-box, which would have been a nice little “extra” for our 12 year old grandson to play, also doesn’t work. Sugar ants got into our box of pastries that we brought with us from New Orleans. There were not enough face cloths/ wash cloths in each of the bathrooms. The master bathroom didn’t have any.The layout is perfect for our family, so we will consider booking again next year. We just hope that these issues would be addressed for any future stays.

We had a wonderful vacation. The house was conveniently located near lots of things to do and the home was beautiful. Would recommend a six seater golf cart to accommodate the amount of people that can stay in the home. Otherwise we had a wonderful trip.

Overall stay was good. The cleanliness of the property was a challenge. The fridge had crud in the crevices and the primary suite toilet room had a smell, making us little uncomfortable. The primary suite’s jetted tub had build up in the jets, so we didn’t get a chance to soak. There were a few roach encounters and spider webs. There was also build up by the air vents. We would possibly stay here again, if the place had a deep clean and a six seater golf cart.

Beautiful Home!

The home was beautiful and very clean. Recommend: unload your vehicles and go grab something to eat for an hour or so to allow the house to cool off. It was very very hot bc the AC is set on 78 degrees. So we unloaded the vehicles, left and got something to eat and when we came back it felt much better. Other than that this was a really great stay.

Cozy Oasis

This house is exactly as pictured! The master bedroom upstairs has a private balcony that is perfect for morning coffee and relaxation. The beds were comfortable, the kitchen was spacious and we loved that a golf cart was available to travel through the resort. The location offers convenience to shops and restaurants.

Fishing tournament

We came in to San Destin for a fishing tournament and the house was perfect. Separate bathrooms in all the rooms was great for our different family’s and privacy. The location and golf cart made it super easy to get back and forth from the tournament registration, marina, dinner, etc. Probably renting the property again for next years tournament. Not to mention…we won first place!!!!!

We’re still finding the just right property for us. We liked the location but not the property this year. The location was close to lots of things. Bugs. Never stayed with bugs before. If you ask why we didn’t call the managers, we figured it was too late to fix the situation. Master toilet closet smelled like BO. We tried wiping it all all down and also buying toilet bowl cleaners. No difference. For the price, there are things to fix. The nice house doesn’t match the little things like chintzy shower holders or no ice making for the frig. We’d pick another place next year!

Great house! Transportation difficulties

The house was great, clean, spacious, etc. Unfortunately the golf cart was broken and we were unable to use it which was extra inconvenient as the home does not include a trolley pass to the Sandestin resort trolley. The trolley would not let us board without a pass so we were struggling to get around during our stay without access to the trolley or a golf cart.

This home looked just like the picture and had I not gone back downstairs on the last night to get something out of the refrigerator I would not have known about the roaches. They were all over the kitchen which is why the score is low.

Friends Vacation

We enjoyed our stay at “Poppy’s Place” along with the amenities in the community! The golf cart made it easy to enjoy going to the Wharf and grocery store. The villa also had adequate space for our needs and made our trip a rememberable one! If in the area again, would stay here!

Great place, but beware there is no working golf cart!

The place is wonderful and looks better in person than in the photos. It's a very spacious condo with a great layout and has been newly updated. It was also extremely clean. However, the property is poorly managed and the photos/description were not accurate so I cannot give it the 5-star review it deserves. The rental company is horrid. We rented this particular condo because it included a golf cart and we didn't want to rent a car. You also cannot bring outside golf carts into the resort and you obvisouly need transportation to get around the resort and to the beach. Upon arrival, the golf cart had non-working brakes, which is obviously a major safety issue. After we reported the issue, It took the company three days to even service and check on the golf cart. We never received a phone call from them after checking on the golf cart but after we called them, numerous times, we were finally told it needed a new part and they couldn't get it for a week. I 100% believe they rented us this condo knowing the golf cart did not work. There is no way the previous renter did not complain, it took way too long for them to come look at it, and they also pointed out some line in the contract basically saying they weren't liable for non-working golf carts. They had no will to help us resolve the issue financially nor did they really care that we were upset. What a joke!! I feel so bad the owner of this property has someone like this running their place for them.

We loved Poppy's Place.

The pictures we saw didn't do this Villa justice. :) It was much more spacious than we'd thought. Beautifully and thoughtfully decorated, with comfortable wood floors and crown molding throughout the Villa; not to mention two private balconies open to relaxing sounds of rainwater from the fountain in the pond. We loved just sitting out there. Very peaceful. The fully equipped kitchen and X-Box with games made this feel even more like home. We had minor concerns such as the Masterbath shower not draining well and the club car not being fully charged upon our arrival. I would definitely stay again and recommend this Villa to future travelers. Thanks for a wonderful stay Poppy!!!

Costly vacation

The home itself was beautifully decorated, the management company on the other hand is horrid, we will never stay at this resort again just because of the management company. Four hours after checking out I realized I had left my box of jewelry in a bathroom vanity drawer and immediately contacted the management company so they could have housekeeping retrieve it, well as the story goes it was not found but I know right where I left it. And after messages and phone calls 10 days after our stay I finally got a final message yesterday that my jewelry box was never located.
