Overpriced, Not "Fresh"

This property needs a lot of work. The entryway is nice and clean. After walking upstairs the open floorplan is nice and bright. Walking into the living area I immediately noticed the very dingey and stained couch. I looked up and noticed stains on the ceiling from previous leaks. The bedroom with the twin beds is tiny. Carpet feels old and dirty. The bathroom adjacent to that bedroom is also tiny. The larger bedrooms are nice but we just didn't get the "clean" feeling. It might be the old dirty feeling carpets There is a sunroom that is nice. It just didn't feel like it was clean. If we can see stains on white furniture, then I know the other furniture wasn't clean. It's overpriced for the cleanliness of the unit. In addition, there is NO ice machine! For being a beach rental I find it very impractical. Also, bikes with flat tires, practically melted. The golf cart is old and shakes like it's going to die. We plugged it in after every single use.The building was under construction. My daughter saw a man on the roof looking in. When I looked up he was walking away. There were other times we saw the construction workers out back looking up at the windows. I don't recommend this place if it is still under construction. Did not feel completely safe . Overall the stay was "ok". I didn't LOVE going back to it at the end of each day. It was a little on the depressing side, actually. The owner/manager that responded to us was professional and quick. No problems at all there.

Great location to villages and beach. A printed map and a bit more info on golf cart would have great. Like do you need to plug in each night, cover each night?

4/10 Will Never Stay Again

First off, I will say that this property is very nice and well kept. The pictures are spot on and the golf cart is great to have. However, the property managers (VH-Vacation Haven) watch you like a HAWK the whole entire time. They have a camera at the front door and on buildings around the resort. After we checked in, my son accidentally parked in the wrong spot and the tenant (she lives there) yelled and cursed at us and even hit his truck with her car door. Security had to be called. We did not receive clear instructions on where park in the check in text, only the access and wifi code. After that, VH called and said we had 8 people on the golfcart when it clearly only seats 6. I asked for proof of this and they could not provide it. They also questioned the fact that we had 8 guests. When I booked the property I listed 6 guests on the form. I booked earlier this year and because of changes in 2 of our guests plans they were able to join us on the trip. I DID NOT think this was a problem because the house sleeps 8 and there would not have been a change in the price. Our 2nd morning there the property manager came by complaining about the same thing they had already called me about the day before! Later that afternoon, VH called my phone AGAIN but this time they were calling to see how our stay was going. I told them that it was horrible because they kept bothering us for NO REASON AT ALL!! The representative apologized and I did not hear from them anymore after that

Let down but Pam from mvh was able to turn it around.

Got a call the day before arrival that the golf cart was tore up. If you ever been to this area before you know how important the golf cart is. I drove my diesel truck knowing that when we arrive we won't be using my truck anymore. Hoping that the golf cart would be a quick fix turned into 3 days stuck in the condo. Pam had kept us informed daily about the golf cart like she said she would but on the 3rd day we decided it was time to go see her. We came up with a solution of electric bike that Pam provided us with for the remainder of our time. Now there not a golf cart but they sure was fun and a great alternative to not having the golf cart. This turned our vacation right around and we enjoyed our stay and had a blast. The condo was pretty nice and located a mile from the beach and baytowne wharf. Thanks again Pam for going above and beyond to accommodate us!!

Scam - Take Pictures Before & After

TAKE PICTURES BEFORE AND AFTER YOUR STAY. We had barely touched the golf cart on a 3 day vacation (had 2 rental cars) and were charged +$300 for damage to a golf cart seat without documented proof from the company. Great property but terrible service. Did not have pictures of cart with no damage before our stay and have placed damages on us with minimal communication.

Heron Drive Review

We've come to Sandestin for 3 years straight now. This was our favorite rental. The location was absolutely perfect between the beach, pools, Wharf, and shops. We could see the fireworks from the Wharf perfectly from the back window. Neighbors were very friendly. There was a bunch of beach stuff included as well that was great for use. Just a fantastic rental property.

We had a wonderful stay in this townhouse. It was perfect for our party of eight with four adults and four kids. The place was so clean and had everything we needed to start our stay. The golfcart was so nice to use going to the beach and restaurants. Management was great to work with. We would stay here again!

Family Vacation

Overall we had a great stay and the house had everything we needed! Washer and dryer, plenty of towels, beach supplies, glasses, bowels plates, pots and pans. Only thing two would highly consider before booking this rental again is 1. The stairs are pretty steep , and scary with a toddler and small children, and 2. The description for “beach access” is not true. The golf cart is great - but it’s not personal beach access- it’s access to a tunnel and open area- there are no showers to rinse off your stuff or your feet- and where you think you can “set up” your beach supplies you can’t. Apparently there are only certain areas and you can’t be between and the green and yellow chairs. I was LIVID I had to my move my belongings twice.

Relaxing

We enjoyed having a bathroom for each bedroom. Made getting ready for our group take a lot less time. It was great using the golf cart to go to the beach, shops and restaurants. I would recommend this rental.

Sandestin Family Reunion

Renting the property was easy and the townhouse was nice. We didn't realize that this place had 2 flights of stairs to navigate when booking, 1 flight just to access. Maybe that was in the description but difficult for the older and infirm in our party. The biggest draw back was 2 people in our party of 8, as the house is listed to accommodate, had to sleep on the couches. There are only enough beds to sleep 6 comfortably.

Amazing Place!

I've always stayed on the beach when I go to the Destin area. However, I wanted to try the Bay Towne area this time. Beach access was easy. You simply drive the golf cart through the tunnel under Hwy 98 (I had no idea this even existed). At night, you are a golf cart away from all the places to eat/shops at Bay Towne Wharf. I highly recommend this house for anyone looking for a change of pace in Destin!

weekend stay

The property was clean and in overall good condition. Small bathroom was pretty dated and the upstairs room/bathroom has dated carpet. It was also difficult to get the upstairs room cool. We got to the property 15 mins early and were unable to get in due to the timed lock. Being that we had a 6 month old baby with us and it was hot outside I ran the call button to see if they could let us in remotely, no one answered the call button. So, I called the phone # and they said they could not let us in early (10 mins early at this point). So we sat outside in the heat waiting to get it. The parking spot was another issue. The online listed plainly states that one parking spot is guaranteed and the other are first come first serve. We parked another car there in front of the unit and the neighbor knocked aggressively on the door and was rude about us being in his parking spot. We moved the car and then later that evening, yet another knock on the door to move our car. It was another neighbor (not very happy with us) telling us to move the car. I asked at that point what was going on with the parking and he said that all the spots in front of the units are labeled with numbers and that the owners pay for the spots so, I can totally understand why they were upset. I showed him the property description and he said there were some spots that were not numbered wayyyyyy down on the far end of the complex and of course they were taken. Parking was a major issue and made an awkward start to our stay. The other issue was finding the trash bin to dispose of our own trash when we left. It was small and there was no signage. It took a while to find it. Overall this is a nice place but the instructions on the listing were lacking. The golf cart was also a nice perk to the property. You need it because the property is a good distance away from the beach.

Property was as described. We loved the location! Perfect trip for teens! They could get everywhere on their own. You could stay inside Baytowne area and have everything you need. We loved it!

Really nice rental. Book it!

We had a great time and the golf cart was such a plus. Could accommodate a large group and was very clean. The only draw back we had was that the covers which covered the large comfy sofa needed cleaning. We were hoping they didn't think we were the ones who dirtied those covers. Other than that beautiful, close to pool, sunroom was nice, rooms were great! You will be happy with this rental! TVs in every room, kitchen equipped, everyone can have their own bathroom. Book it!
