Almost Perfect

My family and I enjoyed the stay and there were only two incidents that preventing the experience from being perfect. On Tuesday night, I reached out to the property manager to inquire about paying for an extra night to extend the stay. Unfortunately I did not receive a response until Friday which at that time, we declined to stay an extra night because of our primary concern. In the bunk room on the main level, my daughter noticed several bugs coming in from the window and crawling on the walls. I recorded a video and emailed to the property manager of which I received a quick response stating that the video wasn't clear enough but a pest control company will come to look into the situation. I don't know if someone stopped by or not because I never received a follow up response. But two of my daughters moved to the upstairs bedroom and my youngest daughter slept with my wife and I because for obvious reasons no one wanted to sleep in the "bug" room. So although we rented a four bedroom, we were only able to sleep in three of the rooms. Admittedly, Neither one of these incidents prevented us from enjoying our stay because Sandestin is beautiful. I just would have appreciated if someone from the property would have made a better effort to communicate with me. Aside from these two incidents, our stay was enjoyable.

We really enjoyed staying in Villa Lago. It was just as listed beautiful property. We enjoyed sitting on the back lanai looking at the water and just enjoying the time that we had together because we were staying in the Sandestin area. We also had access to the local hotels beach access gates so we could get to the beach, which was really nice so overall it was a great location and a great Stay. I would recommend it highly

Beautiful!!

Our stay was simply AMAZING! The house was beautiful. Just as pictured, the master bedroom is huge. We enjoyed mornings on the upstairs balcony. The views are spectacular. We also enjoyed taking the golf cart to Baytowne. We will definitely stay here again.

Wonderful Place

The house was awesome and has everything you need to enjoy your stay. The location is great and has all the restaurants, shopping and kid activities with out having to leave the property or even use you car. Would definitely stay here again.

Needs Some Attention

The house was spacious enough for our family and the location was perfect for our activities. The blinds are torn in some rooms, the breakfast area blinds are broken, and should be replaced. The pictures online present a warm home. This is not how it feels when you arrive. There are no rugs in any of the bedrooms and limited decor to add life to the home. The batteries in the remotes to work the downstairs media components were dead. We had to make a quick trip to Publix as soon as we arrived. The golf car tires makes a noise when driving. These are minor items that require a little time and attention. We still enjoyed our stay and family time.

Loved this stay at Villa Lago!

Loved the house. Loved the view! Loved the proximity to the wharf. Especially the short walk every morning to Charlie’s Cafe for coffee and an occasional donut. My kids ranging from 9-16 all enjoyed it.

Superb Location

Location: Regardless of what you are doing, this is an ideal location in terms of proximity to all of the fun things (Baytowne, pools, golf, etc.) We walked, took the golf cart, and our own vehicle. There is ample parking at Baytowne for both golf carts and personal vehicles. Villa Lago Community / Outside of Home: Unfortunately, this community appeared to be a bit rundown for our taste. I don’t know if it is because most of the houses are rentals but there didn’t appear to be a lot of pride taken into the maintenance of each home in the neighborhood. Our property had overgrown landscape and the property itself was in dire need of a solid pressure washing. The “pond” that the back patio faces is honestly gross. There was no fountain to move the water around so there was a lot of standing “muck” around the borders. Much like the front of the property, the landscape was overgrown and sad looking. The house to the immediate left (when looking at the front of the property) was under construction. There wasn’t a construction crew on site for the four days we were there, so it didn’t bother us with regards to noise disturbances. The aesthetics of the property / neighborhood would have bothered us if we were hosting an adult gathering this weekend was for our teenage son and his friends. Inside of Home: Pros: - Everything is labeled (light switches, where things go, etc.) - Almost everything was spotless when we arrived - Plenty of space for EVERYONE - Good hot water temp in the showers - Beds were heavenly – everyone had solid rest during the stay! - AC kept things pretty cool given the outside temp / humidity levels - The management team was quick and responsive Cons but not deal breakers: -There were about five remotes per television (even the husband had a hard time figuring them out) - The couch that shares the wall with the downstairs bedroom is awful, just avoid it - Xbox is old and outdated (just remove it) Recommendations: - Replace the bench cushion cover at the dining room table, it looks old and dingy - The rug in the living room is discolored, gross looking, and dingy - Pressure wash the windows on the outside - Make sure that the cleaning crew leaves tall trash bags in the empty trash bin in the kitchen

Disappointing experience

Issues/problems experienced during stay - Back patio table depicted in photos was not there - New home construction underway next door (less than 10') with no mention - One of the showers in the upstairs bedroom was not working. Property manager looked at it but could not fix it and it was not addressed during our stay. - The oven would not heat above 200 degrees compromising ability to prepare planned meals in the residence. - It is worth noting a $100 credit was issued for our inconvenience which was not enough in my opinion.

Great Location and House

We stayed with a group of friends and the house suited us perfectly. The layout was great and the kitchen was well equipped for cooking for larger groups. The location on the property was great, I was a little nervous thinking it was a long drive to the beach but the golf cart made everything so easy. The oven strangely wouldn't heat above 330 but I am certain the property managers can fix that, they were easy to communicate with, but ONLY over email so responses weren't always terribly fast. The check in time was a bit late for a group with young children (6pm central), but they did allow an early check in, which saved the day! We would definitely rent this property again. It was great!

Unsatisfied With no Resolution

The property was said to be smoke free, although there is a strong odor in the home that smells a lot like old smoke. My husband and I are very sensitive to this, we’re unable to sleep, and became stuffy and unable to breathe so we left first thing in the morning and had to check in somewhere else. The property managers were made aware of this, as well as the water bug/cockroach problem we encountered upon entering (3 greeted us at the door), and decided to never get back to me or try to make it right. So I’m out money for this home as well as another reservation bc this issue was never made right with us.
