My family had a wonderful stay! The house is beautiful, well maintained, and fully equipped for all our needs. There are fun towns to explore and hikes in the surrounding area, and when we stayed in we got to enjoy the game room and the hot tub. It was also great to find a property that was so dog friendly.

The only improvement I could suggest would be with the driveway up to the house. Other than that, I would highly recommend this property to anyone looking for the perfect secluded get a way!

Wonderful House

We had a great time at this house. It has everything you need from nice Game Room to Hot Tub and lots of space. House was very clean and check-in process was easy. Its well appointed and property managers have provided plenty of information about the house and what to do in the area via welcome book. Drive up to the house is a bit bumpy, but it was no problem for our car. Will definitely try to come back.

Great cabin

Great place! Clean, plenty of room and easy to get to. Loved the basement/ game room and hot tub. Unfortunately the King bed was very used and uncomfortable.

Great house/terrible entrance

The house itself was beautiful, clean, comfortable and had everything that it advertised plus more. My negatives are that nowhere on the listing does it say that you will drive on a very narrow, very rough, washed out road that only has room for one vehicle (just barely), with limbs dragging your vehicle the entire way in order to get to the cabin. I received the message below one day from my arrival time. It was too late to back out. What if the only vehicle I had was a car? As it stood, my parents and myself had just purchased new SUVs that we were not happy about driving in and out of that road, having limbs dragged down the sides and every time I crossed the “creek” and exited the road my Pathfinder bottomed out hitting the trailer hitch on the gravel. Now my wires are exposed. I feel as though the below message is a bit vague, but even still if that’s all they feel is necessary they should at least include it in the actual advertisement so that people can make an informed decision before booking with them. Additional info: Guests should not tow large items (RVs, trailers, boats, etc.) due to backcountry roads that are not always passable. The drive is a little rough but does not require four-wheel drive. You will have to cross a small creek and there are several dips. An SUV or pickup is recommended.

Relaxing mountain getaway

We had a wonderful stay at Sophie's retreat the past 5 days. The home and the view were spectacular. We took advantage of all of the amenities, including the game room and the hot tub. Our dogs had a great time too. The road to the property is rocky and crossing a small creek is required, so we would recommend coming in a Jeep or SUV. Also, be sure to map your plans for the day before leaving the house, because reception is limited between Mineral Bluff and the parks and waterfalls in and around Blue Ridge. We'd recommend making the 15-minute ride to downtown Blue Ridge for gifts and restaurants, especially Fightingtown Tavern, visiting the Swinging Bridge over the Toccoa River and a hike to Fall Branch Falls. And the Ingles grocery store is in Blue Ridge too, for picking up anything you need for staying and eating in. Thanks for everything!

An amazing cabin trip!!

Needed get away

Great Cabin. Lovely, warm and inviting. Good space. Good set up to bring your dogs. No nearby neighbors and gated/fenced off porch. Very pet friendly. The rec. room is where we spent a lot of time shooting pool, playing old school arcade games & darts. Great space for tween aged children. Weather did not permit us to be outside on porch or fire pit area much but they are lovely spaces. The cabin needs a good deep/spring cleaning; cob webs, tubs grimey, grout around kitchen sink & back splash needed a cleaning. Grill and decking under grill needed a good cleaning. When we got there the oven was not working. This gave us the challenge to cook a pan of lasagna on the grill. We were compensated for the oven not working but it could not be fixed due to Covid restrictions during our stay. We had to rethink our food plans for the long weekend. Wish the rental company had toaster ovens on hand for these types of emergencies and could have delivered one to us. It would have made cooking a bit easier. The kitchen could use a restocking of silverware, dishes, wine glasses, and newer pots and pans. Over all it was a terrific getaway and we loved the cabin and would rent it again.

Wonderful Getaway

We had a great time staying at Sophie’s Retreat! It was a little off the beaten path and a good 20-25 minutes from most restaurants and shopping, so keep that in mind. But it was an incredibly peaceful and gorgeous place to have a nice girls’ getaway. Pretty much any amenities you could think of needing are right at your fingertips. And the game room and hot tub on the lower level were a great place to relax and unwind. The fire pit was perfect for making s’mores and the wraparound porch was wonderful for just sitting and quietly soaking in the beautiful views around the cabin. I would definitely stay here again if I’m ever back in that area of Georgia.

Quiet and Beautiful

We enjoyed our visit with ability to be outside and read, eat, grill, and roast marshmallows at the fire pit. We also enjoyed playing pool, arcade games and darts inside the cabin. We will be back!
