  • Stable Cottage fue originalmente parte del maravilloso bloque estable construido en piedra en Yealscombe Farm, de 400 años de antigüedad, y está situado al final de un camino rural tranquilo, rodeado de bosques y campos. Stable Cottage ha sido recientemente renovada para crear una espaciosa y bien equipada 'casa de casa'.
    La cabaña consta de una cocina / comedor, 2 cómodos salones, 1 baño y 1 aseo, 2 habitaciones dobles y 1 habitación con 3 camas individuales o una cama con cremallera y una cama de 6 pies y una habitación individual y 1 habitación individual.
    Hay una sala de secado / lavandería para abrigos, botas y perros. Área segura para guardar bicicletas. Área exterior cerrada con maravillosas vistas sobre el valle y un banco de picnic y barbacoa.
    Situado en las afueras de Exford, un pueblo bonito y virgen con 2 buenos pubs, un salón de té y una tienda.
    Con una ubicación céntrica en el Parque Nacional, Stable Cottage ofrece una base ideal para explorar Exmoor, desde la costa escarpada hasta el páramo inspirador y todo lo demás.
    Si bien ya no es una granja en funcionamiento, tenemos ponis, ovejas, cabras, pollos y patos que los niños son más que bienvenidos para ayudar a alimentar / cuidar.

A lovely place but didn't suit our needs.

Unfortunately, we did find the online description a little misleading as we didn't realise that the second lounge was upstairs, that the enclosed outdoor area was not attached to the property (it's a short walk across the courtyard so lacked privacy) and is extremely small so not practical for our dogs or children. Dogs had to be kept on a lead around the property and no grass or field for them to run in. This made it difficult to let them out at night for the toilet as the woodland walk was dark and steep. This was our fault too as we shouldn't have assumed all of these things and should have asked the hosts more questions before booking. We also didn't realise that a maximum of two dogs were allowed and we had four (this was totally our fault for missing this on the house rules). That being said, the property was lovely, comfortable and spotlessly clean. The hosts were excellent and very helpful. We also had a lovely walk to the village where we had an excellent roast in The Crown Hotel. A great place to stay but unfortunately didn't suit our needs!

Idyllic location so central to everything

We had a wonderfully relaxing week here. The circular walk to the river is a real bonus right from the door. We saw lots of deer, had several cream teas in Greg tea shop in the village. We’ll definitely be back.

A perfect hideaway location.

Stable Cottage was perfectly hidden away with the most amazing views and its own woodland walk. We were a family of seven and there was plenty of room for us all. The cottage was spotless and had everything you needed. Even a delicious cake on arrival. We walked to Exford two nights in a row and ate in the White Horse pub which was delicious. We would highly recommend stable Cottage and cannot wait to come back as we still have so much of Somerset and devon to see. Thank you tracey and family.

Lovely cottage in a beautiful location

We had a lovely stay at the Stable Cottage and I would highly recommend. Such a beautiful location with lots of places to visit nearby. We will deffo be back :)

Property exceptionally clean and had everything we wanted. Children loved seeing the animals. Lovely setting. Had a fantastic few days.

Lovely getaway location

Ideal for family getaway, everything you need. Friendly hosts. Quiet location. Lovely walks in area. Two pubs in Exford serving good food, anything else you'd need to go further afield.

What A Find

There are places you stay and say "it was great - I'd go back" and there are places you really do go back. We're already planning our next visit. Simon and Tracey are excellent hosts and managed to get the tricky balance between making you feel welcome whilst letting you have your space just right. The setting is beautiful, a lovely escape to switch off and a welcoming pub not to far a walk through the forest that starts a stone throw from the house. Great place to stay with children and the house and grounds are well equipped to keep the kids happy. Look forward to our next visit. Thank you to Simon and Tracey for making us feel so welcome.

Stunning location close to Exford

Relaxing family stay in Exmoor

We loved our stay! The house was just as described. Clean and had everything we needed. Tracey and Simon were very nice and helpful. The setting is tranquil and beautiful and for us a good central location for our sightseeing!

Great cottage in stunning location

Enjoyed a long weekend stay. Plenty of walks out of the cottage door and easy access into Exford. Great cottage with all facilities that would be expected, would recommend.

Peaceful fairytale cottage

Simon and Tracy were the most accommodating and thoughtful hosts. The cottage was spotlessly clean and ideally located for exploring the National Park. Beautifully decorated, recently refurbished, comfortable and situated in a peaceful woodland area. Thoughtful touches like fresh flowers and a cake for us on arrival was extra special. We loved the walk through the farm to the river, and spending time with the farm animals added an extra special touch. We had such a good time and highly recommend this holiday let. Thank you for having us!

A lovely property with lots of space, really well equipped and ideal for children who like animals!

This certainly is a beautiful stone cottage in the heart of Exmoor. With 4 bedrooms, sleeping 8 it is really spacious, has lovely modern furnishings and is really well equipped. There is beautiful countryside and lovely old villages in all directions - ideal for walking/exploring and also excellent for children who like to help feeding the horses, sheep, goats, ducks, chickens, etc. The owners are really friendly and helpful. I can recommend this cottage without reservation!
