Hi Sheila,Thefts on Kia & Hyundai vehicles have skyrocketed by over 1000% since 2020. We have a longstanding policy not to permit Hyundai and Kia vehicles in our parking lot as these vehicles seem to cause more harm than good. You indicated that you were aware of this fact, however, when you indicated after the break-in that you opted not to use the vehicle cover you brought with you and when you refused the steering wheel lock that we provide for these vehicles at check-in. Notwithstanding our prohibition on these vehicles in our parking lot, our staff initiated a one-time policy exception, allowed your vehicle into the parking lot, and watched your vehicle for nearly the entire night on our security cameras. The average Hyundai / Kia vehicle theft takes about 45 seconds, yet our staff was able to interrupt the attempted theft and prevent your vehicle from being stolen.As we discussed, I do not regret that our staff made an exception to our 'No Hyundai / Kia parking' in our overnight lot as this was the clear difference between towing home a break-in and renting another car to drive home while you wait for the police department to find your vehicle. I only regret that this event had an impact on your perception of the value of the room you enjoyed.
