"Although our stay was fleeting (just one night) we were made to feel extremely welcome by all of the staff.
The room lacked a TV, but actually this was an absolute blessing and it made change not to reach for a remote control. Instead there was a DAB radio which was playing a soothing Classic FM when we entered our rather classy country pub hotel. Everything was to a very high standard in our room.
We were even welcomed with a short, signed note on quality card wishing us personally, a warm and...

"Lovely staff, great food and very convenient for the coast 2 coast cycle route. It is on a busy road and the building and decor is old fashioned but perfect for an overnight stop."

"The room was great, the staff very friendly but what was outstanding was the food, what a surprise it was, pub food is normally quite boring in my opinion but this was anything but.
Pork belly mash and the most delicious red cabbage I've ever had and I've travelled a lot and eaten a lot in my travels, this was up there with the best. "
