Gandalf Cottage - Description and Purpose

Gandalf Cottage is a cozy wooden pine cabin, part of the Sosnowe Domki complex. Located on the eastern side, it is one of four cabins, alongside Merlin, Baba Yaga, and Hern cottages. Like the Merlin cottage, Gandalf faces east, meaning its main entrance and most of the windows are oriented in that direction. The interior of the cottage is filled with warm morning light, making the mornings full of energy and the evenings cooler, perfect for relaxation.

Gandalf Cottage is primarily designed for families with children who appreciate the proximity of a playground. Right next to the cottage, there is a trampoline, swings, and a wooden climbing structure, making it an ideal spot for families with preschool and school-aged children, up to about 10-12 years old. It is also an excellent choice for groups of friends seeking a comfortable place to relax by the sea. With its spaciousness, the cottage can accommodate six to eight people, with the possibility of adding extra beds for up to nine or ten guests.

Gandalf Cottage is a spacious two-story cabin with a total area of 54 m², making it a particularly large and comfortable place for relaxation. Upon entering, the ground floor features a roomy living area connected to a fully equipped kitchenette. In the living room, there is a fold-out sofa that can serve as an additional sleeping area for two guests. The living room has an east-facing window that offers a view of the playground and a south-facing window with a view of the gazebo next to Gandalf Cottage. These windows provide plenty of natural light during the day and offer beautiful views of the surrounding nature. The room also includes a dining table with chairs and a TV with access to satellite channels, ensuring entertainment during your stay.

The kitchenette is fully equipped, allowing for convenient meal preparation. It includes all essential appliances, such as an induction stove, a coffee maker, a set of pots, cutlery, plates, and glasses. On the ground floor, there is also a bathroom fitted with a shower, toilet, and sink, offering comfort and privacy.

Solid wooden stairs lead to the upper floor, where two private bedrooms are located, an important feature for those who value privacy. The first, smaller bedroom is equipped with a double bed and a single bed, as well as a wardrobe and two bedside tables. This bedroom has a skylight that provides natural light and fresh air. The second, larger bedroom, also private, offers space for three guests, with a double bed, a single bed, and a spacious wardrobe. This bedroom has a large window, which allows plenty of daylight to emphasize its spaciousness. An additional "przystawka" (portable bed) can be added to this bedroom, providing extra sleeping space for one or two more guests.

Surroundings of Gandalf Cottage

Gandalf Cottage is surrounded by a charming and functional environment, perfect for both families with children and adults seeking a peaceful place to relax. In front of the cottage, on the eastern side, there is a spacious terrace adjacent to Merlin Cottage’s terrace. The terraces are separated by a special partition, ensuring privacy for both cottages. Gandalf’s terrace measures about 4.5 meters in length and 2 meters in width. It features a table with chairs and a large red umbrella that provides shade during warm mornings. This is the ideal spot for a morning breakfast or a cup of coffee, especially as the sun rises, creating a pleasantly warm atmosphere.

Directly opposite the cottage, on the eastern side, is a playground set on well-maintained grass. This area is perfect for families with children, offering plenty of opportunities for outdoor play. The playground is equipped with a trampoline, swings, a wooden playhouse, and a slide, ensuring hours of fun and activity for the kids.

On the southern side, next to Gandalf Cottage, there is a spacious gazebo that measures 3 meters wide and runs the full length of the cottage. The gazebo provides ample shade and is surrounded by beautiful flowers, including hydrangeas. Under the gazebo, there is a wooden table with benches, as well as hanging swing chairs for adults, offering a comfortable place to relax. These woven, suspended seats allow you to enjoy a cup of coffee or tea in the shade, and the interplay of light and shadow under the gazebo creates a pleasant, inviting atmosphere—perfect for a peaceful morning break.
