Beautiful home and very spacious and homey with incredible views of the lake and short walk to beach . Well decorated and owner shares a lot to do around the home and where to eat and shop Cute decor and we absolutely loved our stay thank you

Great Location/House Stay

We had a great trip! The house is awesome and was in such a great location. Easy walk to the beach and could walk to restaurants!

Fantastic property

Our family thoroughly enjoyed our long weekend at this fantastic property. We loved the proximity to the lake and the private feel. This house met all our needs for a group of 9.

Lots of room so that everyone could be together on the main floor and yet have privacy or alone time in the bedroom spaces. We played several family games and card games, sometimes 3 different ones going on at the same time, in the common area. 3 showers were helpful, as well as the rinse off shower outside! Very clean, very well stocked, nice balcony areas, and just steps from the beach! We are in our 70s, and our children and their spouses (40s), and our grandchildren ( 11 and 14), all had a wonderful time together! Great memories!

Wonderful Stay — Just Bring Your Own Kitchen Basics

The size of the home and its layout were perfect for our family, providing plenty of space to spread out and enjoy. The location cannot be beat—so convenient and truly at the heart of everything. At its core, the home is lovely and very comfortable, making it a great choice for a family getaway.A few notes for future renters (and perhaps suggestions for the owners): while the kitchen is stocked with cookware, items like cooking oil, non-stick spray, and aluminum foil are not provided. Not a deal-breaker by any means, but helpful to know when planning meals.Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and would happily return.

DuneGates - a perfect stay at the beach.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We enjoyed a fabulous week at the DuneGates in Michigan City. The house was beautiful and the location to the beach and awesome Lake Michigan was excellent. We enjoyed spectacular beach days and wonderful evenings in the open common space of the house, while also enjoying views of The Lake from the balconies. Small hiccup with the air cond unit leaking on main floor throughout our stay. Fortunately the a/c was working, but we did have a constant leak into a plastic bin that required watching and emptying. The management was responsive to our needs (hair dryer, coffee pot), but was not able to get A/C unit repaired. Otherwise, the house was perfect in every way.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Gorgeous home, not a bad distance/walk to the beach. The beach was amazing, soft sand and very spacious. We were a bit disappointed with the lack of shower gel/soap, shampoo, conditioner and number of towels. For this price other rentals, specifically in Florida on the beach, have had that included. Did seem a bit pricey for the distance to the beach and the lack of a water view. The main living space and master were gorgeous and provided ample seating for our party of 11. The room for the kids was great too. The other two bedrooms which we used for adults were a bit cramped. The one in the basement was small and the one on the top floor the bed was pushed up against a slanted ceiling. The a/c system worked great and there are a ton of windows to open. Wish there was more outdoor seating or a firepit to accommodate our group in one space.

The beaches were beautiful but quiet, and the house offered the perfect location to rest and enjoy the quiet. The house was clean, comfortable, and close to the beach. I would highly recommend it to anyone vacationing near the Indiana Dunes.

They loved the super short walk to the beach. Only suggestion I have for future renters is to bring a sleeping mask for the master bedroom !!! Beautiful windows but, the large triangular window has no shade and when that sun comes up, you are up !

It is a little hard to find as you have to go up the gravel driveway to the house and is not obvious from the street. Look for the "beachwalk" sign next to the mailbox. The only complaint we have is there was not enough toilet paper and towels to shower for. It was actually very stressful to not have enough towels to shower with or toilet paper for the last 12-14 hours of our stay. Everything is locked up so no backup unless you bring your own. Considering the price point, it would be nice to have a few extra towels and toilet paper to access in a pinch.

Perfect beach retreat

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: DuneGates is a lovely home in an ideal location in Michigan City. It is a brand new, beautifully designed home with porches on 2 levels that have views to the lake. It is just over the dune to the lake with easy access. It accommodates a large group well with the middle level living space only, no bedrooms. The only item to note is that the den with a pull out couch is in an open area -- no door to close -- so folks sleeping there do not have privacy.Our group would definitely be delighted to rent this home again.
