The property was advertised as having a spectacular balcony, which it did. This was really the only redeeming feature of this substandard property. The owner never mentioned anything about the possibility of the balcony being closed for the balcony railing repair. The condo association assured me that all owners were made aware of the renovation schedule. The balcony was reopened on Friday March 4th after being closed for 10 nights and days. The only reason we rented this unit was for the balcony. Now on to the bathtub/ shower drain. Upon turning on the shower for the first time, my girlfriend was standing in an inch of water within a minute or two. Disgusting! The drain was clogged with a buildup of hair. How long was this going on for? It did not just clog up on the day we arrived. It is hard to believe that the previous occupant did not complain. Who wants to stand in standing water accumulating from a hair clog. What about the 2.5-3 hours of my wasted time waiting for and staying with the plumber while he cleared the bathtub drain hair clog? The owner said he immediately sent out a check for 23 dollars for a hairdryer that blew out, and then a check for the meager 200.00 balcony compensation? I received one check for 223.00. Also, the room looked very dirty. The ceiling was blotchy and discolored as though there had been smoke damage from a fire. The whole room needs repainting. The AC vents were filthy and mold covered. Not good for anyone with asthma or another respiratory condition. Also, mold around the tub. The owner should be fair and provide additional compensation. Theoretically, the 3 nights free next year offer for compensation seems to make the offer fairer, assuming I would ever deal with this owner again. Future renters beware.
