Excellent Villa in the heart of the Dordogne

Very friendly welcome by the hosts, Andy & Uliana, and we were all impressed with the facilites, especially the heated pool and hot tub. Lovely couple of meals in the local restaurant in Meyrals.

Un grand havre de paix , avec vue sur la forêt . Des propriétaires charmants , du coup la proximité de leur maison n’était pas du tout dérangeante . Une propriété non clôturée , ce qui n’a posé aucun problème vu qu’il y avait un grand chemin pour la ballade du toutou . Un jacuzzi bien chaud , avec plein de jets massants , au top !

Wonderful get away

The property was ideal for our family group of 3 generations, with plenty of space including a well equipped kitchen and large indoor and outdoor dining areas The pool was great and the spacious garden and grounds were great for all 3 generations to explore. Our hosts were always happy to help and give advice with lots of knowledge of the multitude of things to do and places to visit in the surrounding area.

An ideal property for a family holiday. Great location making it easy to visit the local attractions and markets etc. Plenty of space in the grounds with separate areas to spread out into. Young grandchildren spent a lot of time playing hide and seek in the garden and loved feeding the chickens! Pool area away from the house was great as was the jacuzzi in the evenings. Andy was always available for advice but never intrusive. We loved it !

Notre séjour à Carmensac

Nous avons passé un excellent séjour à Carmensac. La maison est très bien équipée et très joliment décorée au sein d’un vaste jardin. Petit bémol lié à la météo, nous avons eu beaucoup de moustiques. Uliana et Andy ont répondus présents dès que nous avons eu besoin d’eux. De belles vacances !

Best Location and Home to Explore the Dordogne From

We LOVED our stay here! Our group was made up of five girlfriends and we could not have chosen a better home away from home. We all had our own unique and wonderful bedroom, there are plenty of washrooms to accommodate everyone and the dining area, living room and outdoor areas were ideal for 5 women to relax when not sightseeing. We used the hot tub daily (with the wonderful view of the cows in the beautiful pasture) - we enjoyed the pool a few times as well. We booked Chef Dimitri once during our stay and he prepared an amazing dinner for us. The owners are lovely and were very helpful before our arrival and during our stay. Honestly we can’t imagine staying anywhere else it was magical.

Lovely house, extremely well equipped and clean. Fantastic pool and hot tub. Andy and Uliana were very helpful but not intrusive. We ate at two restaurants in Meyrals which were very good, also Sunday lunch at Aberge Medieval in Audrix, about a 15 minute drive away, was outstanding. Highlight of the week for food was Dimitri cooking for us, it was delicious, plentiful and no more expensive than eating out. We can highly recommend Les Hirondelles!

Hébergement au top, tous les équipements sont là que ce soit en cuisine, dans les salles de bain et les lieux de vie. Très très bonne literie. Tout est vraiment très propre. La villa est placé dans un endroit idyllique. Le plus très grande et belle piscine ainsi que jacuzzi. Et salle de sport que nous n'avons pas eu le temps de tester parce qu'il y a tellement de belles ballades à faire. Merci au hôtes pour leurs gentillesse et leurs discrétion mais toujours disponible. Ideal location

This was our third visit to this beautiful property which is in an ideal location for taking advantage of all the Dordogne has to offer. Uliana and Andy are friendly and considerate hosts who strive to accommodate the needs of their guests. The pool was definitely a welcome break from the intense heatwave this summer and the views across the countryside very relaxing. Of course, our stay at Les Hirondelles would not be complete without having private Chef Dimitri preparing and serving us a wonderful 4 course meal with paired wines on the patio. Always memorable.

Historic home in spectacular French region

Rambling large country home on a hilltop in the Dordogne area of SW France. Great outdoor amenities with a heated pool and large hot tub and outdoor shower. Also outdoor dining area with umbrellas and lovely views. The XL dining room was a great bonus for our family dinners. All bedrooms have an en-suite bathroom. There is no powder bathroom or half bath. As Americans we struggled with the size of the small showers. Also there is no A/C and the upstairs can get quite warm in the summer. There are fans in all of the bedrooms. Andy was very helpful and always ready to guide us about the property and the region and make great suggestions. They have an excellent binder in the house as well with a lot of info. We all had a wonderful time here!

A family stay in the paradise of the Dordogne countryside

We had the great pleasure of spending a week of a family reunion at Mulberry Tree villa set in the gorgeous countryside of the Dordogne. Ages ranged from 77 down to 11 with 5 adults and four children from 3 families. The villa provided private areas for all of us in addition to great gathering spaces in the living and dining area inside the house and wonderful outdoor sitting areas. The space and views outside were phenomenal and the pool and hot tub were wonderful highlight for the children. The location of the villa could not be more perfect with castles, caves, beautiful walks, weekly markets and daily shopping areas within a short, lovely drive, Andy was a fantastic host giving us complete privacy but present immediately when we had questions. Our time could not have been better!!!

Warm,Welcoming and Wonderful !

Uliana quickly responded to my many emails over 18 months , before and after we booked ,so we were well prepared to arrive at Mulberry Tree Villa. On arrival , we found the Villa to to be , and have , everything we’d hoped for and needed.Andy (and charming 6 year old Michael) came over every day to answer questions and provide help and advice where necessary. We used the warm pool occasionally and the big hot tub often. Daily excursions took us to to a considerable number of les plus beau villages en France, of which many can can be found nearby in Perigord Noir ( and were). We really can’t imagine a better place to stay, or warmer people to own it. Sincere and lasting thanks for a wonderful travel experience to Uliana and Andy …. And Michael!

The french dream!

We had a wonderful time at Andy and Uliana's. The proprety is beautiful, the house as well as the surrondings. The villa was clean, confortable and perfect for a group. We were 7 adultes and one kids and each of us had plenty of space. The included amenities were superbs: The heat pool, the jacuzzi, the outdoor patio, the fully equipped kitchen. Andy and Uliana are amazing hosts and truly did everything to make sure we had the best time during our stay (and we did!). We have stayed in a lot of rentals and have rarely seen service as exceptionnal as the one we received at Les Hirondelles. Special mention to chef Dimitri, that we hired through the villa. He cooked us a four course meal (with local products) directly in the villa and it was truely one of the best meals we had in our life. We truly recommend booking him for your stay. All in all, we adored our time at Les Hirondelles and are thinking of going back to France (from Canada) just to stay with Andy and Uliana again!

A delightful stay in the Dordogne in a spacious, well equipped villa with glorious gardens and views

We have returned to this lovely place for the last 9 years . It feels like returning to a second home and being welcomed by family . Our hosts Linda and George could not have done more for us . We were blessed with beautiful warm sunny weather and were able to relax in the beautiful gardens , keep fit in the heated pool and enjoy leisurely meals al fresco . We loved the downstairs bedroom we occupied and lovely shower room downstairs . Superb kitchen facilities enabled us to prepare delicious family meals as well as enjoy a cordon bleu meal prepared by Dimitri, our visiting chef .Highlights included visits to St Leon de Vezere,the beautifully decorated St Cyprien and a visit to the markets at Domme and St Cyprien . The Villa is always spotlessly clean and the gardens beautifully maintained and plenty of room for guests to spread out . It is one of those places where you arrive , give a sigh of relief and soak up the surroundings . We also appreciated the generous provision from our hosts,wine, plentiful fresh eggs , figs and delicious speciality teas and coffee . This is the most beautiful, well equipped and comfortable holiday property I have ever stayed in . I hope to return again before too long

Alles wie beschrieben, perfekt eingerichtet, Küche alles da,"Haústierfreundlich" stimmt, wir hatten eine Maus zu Besuch.Der Whirlpool war an kühlen Tagen das Beste - mit dem tollen Ausblick und an sonnigen Tagen ist der Pool perfekt.

Mulberry tree est parfait !

Nous étions 9 amis cette semaine aux Hirondelles. Avis unanime : séjour idéal. Grande maison, vaste propriété arborée, abondamment fleurie, piscine et Jacuzzi chauffés dont plusieurs ont abondamment profité !, toutes les promesses du site sont tenues. Accueil des propriétaires parfait, Andy aux petits soins, disponible. Maison idéalement située pour qui apprécie les sites préhistoriques, multiples, les vieux châteaux ; les paysages sont préservés, les villages authentiques. Pays du canard confit ! Nous recommandons vivement Mulberry tree, n'hésitez pas à réserver !

Tranquil beauty!

We stayed at Andy and Uliana’s property for a week at the end of June and really enjoyed our stay. The house was clean and well cared for. The outside was beautiful and the pool/hot tub fantastic for everyone. We wish we could have stayed longer!

A Glorious Celebration

If you want to have a holiday in gorgeous, serene, surroundings with the most thoughtful hosts you can imagine, this is the property for you. Mulberry Villa and it’s adjacent Butterfly Cottage are set in the soft, rolling hills and fields of the Dordogne. The grounds themselves are manicured and perfumed with honeysuckle and roses. The pool sparkles and the hot tub welcomes any with sore muscles from too much climbing while exploring nearby castles. The kitchen is well equipped and we were able to produce great meals for ten people. Speaking of great meals, if a celebratory meal is on your agenda, consider bookingChef Dimitri . He created two fabulous and totally different meals for us. Over a two week period, we hosted 14 people ranging in age from 20 months to mid 70s. All were enchanted, a toddler who could run and play, twenty something’s who could swim and cavort, young parents who could have their own space in the Butterfly Cottage. The thing that really makes Les Hirondelles, with its cottage and villa incomparable though is the family who own it. Andy, Uliana and their son, Michael. Andy and Uliana went out of their way to offer assistance, answer questions and check how we were doing. The only problem with Les Hirondelles is that it is so far from our home in Austin.
