Casa Sauto is a beautifully renovated important historical landmark in Mexico City's Centro Historico located near the zocalo. The accommodations are spacious, mostly quiet, and well furnished. The entrance, with its automatic door lock, is very secure in a neighborhood that is very busy.
We found the best local transportation with Uber. Taxis are plentiful but if you're not paying attention they will set the meter above the standard rate and you will be overcharged. The standard rate is "D1"; make sure that is shown on the meter before the accumulated pesos.
The manger, Fernanda, is excellent. If you have a chance, have her give you a tour of the event space and offices on the floor above the suites. It will give you a further appreciation for the passion her group has for the history and renovation of this 420 year old building. They've been working on it for ten years.
Not having traveled outside the US for two years, our newest challenge was to get a Covid test before returning. You can easily get one at the airport, but we didn't want to wait until the last minute to know the results. Fernanda scheduled a doctor to come and give us the test at Casa Sauto two days prior to our departure and at a very reasonable price. She even printed out the results for us.
The neighborhood, though busy, is full of conveniences. We found good restaurants, laundry service, and a 7-11 all within a short walk.
We didn't visit Mexico City for two weeks. We lived there at Casa Sauto.
