Definitely worth the stay.
Comfortable and clean. Owners very friendly and helpful. Lovely location within minutes of town and tourist spots. Despite being on the main road in to town it was very quiet. Loved the birds and animals on site. Cannot comment on food as they were unable to supply meals due to covid restrictions however tea/coffee making facilities are supplied as was fresh milk. The only issue, and this is likely out of the control of the owners, was the low water pressure although it was sufficient to have a shower and the water temperature was great. Wifi was fast and reliable.

The bird life visible from the balconies was pretty special. If you have a bird phobia, stay elsewhere! Otherwise, just sit back and enjoy the free display, camera in hand.

Good motel for overnight stay. A bit dated but clean and comfortable. Short drive into town for shops and restaurants.

Great motel
We really enjoyed the night. The service was fantastic. The beds were really great. We had breakfast on the balcony,there was a lot of birds to look at parrots etc.

We were given the 'penthouse', and it was spacious and comfortable. We had dozens of lorikeets eating from our arms and shoulders on the verandah. Brilliant! Thoroughly recommended.

A picturesque place to stay with outside balcony and wonderful views overlooking Merimbula. Hosts were very helpful and obliging. The bed was very comfortable and the room was spacious and clean. Would definitely stay there again.

Amazing view and quiet
Was an ideal distance from Merimbula overlooking the town. A great view of the bay and bushland which was full of wildlife. The room was very clean and neat. Janine the owner at the desk is a lovely lady and very helpful with local knowledge. Just wished I could have stayed longer.

Brautiful Views at Budget Prices
Snug little hotel on the hillside above merimbula. Very friendly service. The most memorable aspect of this stay was getting up early to watch the sun rise over merimbula to a chorus of cockatoos, magpies, rainbow lorikeets and crows. I took several photos from the balcony. All rooms have northeast facing balconies with great views. I liked the location because of the views and the fact that it was very quiet, away from the bustle of town. It was about 2 minutes drive into town. For those who want to be on the beachfront or surrounded by cafes and restuarants, this is probably not the best location for you.

Great accommodation with outstanding views and man
Very happy with our stay. Room was very clean but a little dated but completely offset by the outstanding view, peace and quiet and a really friendly, helpful manager. Excellent value for money!! We will return in near future

Great views of sea and local birds; quiet.
We were 3 couples, staying in adjoining rooms. Rooms were very clean, including the deck chairs and table. Lovely to sit outside with a cuppa, looking across to the distant sea and colourful birds below on the grass. The town was within easy reach because we had a car.

A quiet retreat
I needed to travel to Merimbula unexpectedly. The Kingfisher Motel provided a quiet retreat from the bustle of Merimbula CBD. The beautiful view and the wildlife; birds, sheep ! were very comforting. The room was well organised with good lighting and useful extras, eg a steak knife and chopping board. Thankyou Kingfisher motel.

Wonderful view
It was ok for a one night stay. The bed was a little too hard but otherwise the room was comfortable. We looked over the pool which seemed to have leaves on the bottom and the surrounds of the pool were dirty.

Amazing place! Fantastic people! Every piece of equipment in your room is new and modern (except a magnificent view from your personal balcony that was there even before the time when this Kingfisher Motel was built). All these birds, animals (and even the motel owners) are making your stay very special and, I’d say, remarkable. In the morning we took drive to one of local beautiful lakes or National Parks with one-two-three stopovers at oyster and prawn farms. Surprisingly, when we were back we found our room clean a fresh like a pink bottom of a baby. We got highly useful advice from Janine and the help with barbecue from Baron. Some people call him Byron believing that he is that famous poet Lord Byron. No, he is Baron just because Janine is a truly baroness. Thank you, baroness Janine and Baron-Byron (whatever). We will see you soon again, mates.

Nice, small motel with friendly management
As a stopover enroute from Sydney to Melbourne on the coastal route, this is an ideal location. The owners are wildlife enthusiasts and encourage a vast number of birds to visit the grounds to feed. The balcony of the room provided an excellent viewing platform to watch cockatoos, lorikeets, ibis, etc. The owners also have a hand reared wombat that they are keen to introduce to guests. Overall a great place to stop if you have children who are interested in wildlife. Room facilities are adequate and the bed comfortable.
