The guest house is one of the most charming and accommodating places I have ever stayed in. The proprietor is a historian who is warm and personalizes the experience for each guest with humble grace.
She has taken a late 1800's manor house and refurbished it to it's original elegance. Upon arrival, you get a tour of the house and if interested, a verbal tour of the history of the estate, the town, and the territory as it became a state. She reviews how the local businesses provided a major contribution in the development of the United States. Being a history buff myself, this was particularly intriguing to have my own , in-house, historian. She has created great accommodations with special attention to all of the details a weary traveler may have forgotten.
The beds are very comfortable with silk pillowcases. There are extra throw blankets to keep one warm on an afternoon nap. Perhaps the coup de gras is her home cooked and lovingly prepared hearty, healthy breakfasts, each morning you arise. This Guest House embraces you and makes your stay better.
