Built with granite stones that hold memories and recall forgotten stories, Villa Vetusta opens its doors to those seeking a silence that soothes and comforts, interrupted only, from time to time, by the cheerful chirping of carefree birds.

Carefully restored, it preserves the authenticity of traditional Minho architecture, combining the charm of bygone days with all the comfort of the present. Located in the heart of the peaceful village of Penso, it unfolds over two floors: on the ground floor, the living room invites moments of togetherness, reading or simple rest, while the fully equipped kitchen allows you to prepare meals with family or friends. There is also a guest bathroom, offering greater convenience during your stay.

Upstairs are the three bedrooms, all en suite, ensuring comfort and privacy for every guest. Two of the rooms have two single beds each: one features a private bathroom with a shower, and the other a bathroom with a bathtub, perfect for a relaxing soak at the end of the day. The third bedroom has a single bed and a private bathroom with a shower.

This upper floor has direct access to the balcony, a space designed to be enjoyed slowly. Here, between the quiet of the village and the surrounding landscape, you can start the day with a coffee, lose yourself in the pages of a good book, toast with a glass of Alvarinho wine, or simply let time drift by.

In the courtyard, the outdoor table invites sunny breakfasts, long family lunches or dinners that stretch late into the night, always in tune with the tranquil rhythm of village life.

But just open the wooden gate to discover another scene of pure rest. The spacious, leafy garden surrounds the pool in an atmosphere of serenity, inviting refreshing dips on warm days and long afternoons spent on the loungers, accompanied by the sounds of nature.

Here, time invites you to slow down, to live at nature’s pace, and to enjoy the peace of the present moment.

In the morning, the sun reflects on the crystal-clear waters of the outdoor pool, inviting a comforting swim.

In the late afternoon, under the porch where the traditional corn‑husking once took place — a ritual that brought the whole village together — the wind from across the border whispers through the pages of a book forgotten in your hand, creating the perfect soundtrack for a moment of pure escape and leisure.

And when the afternoon fades and night arrives gently, life is celebrated in the courtyard, the ideal setting to savour the treasures of the land: the rich flavours of local smoked meats, the soft and creamy texture of artisanal cheese, and the golden hue of Alvarinho wine.
