  • THIS LISTING IS FOR TWO DWELLINGS ON THE ONE PROPERTY.

    Together, they can sleep up to 16 guests. They can be both accessed separately if required or they open up to each other using a gate in the adjoining gardens. It is the perfect property to stay at if you have a large family gathering, a wedding group or work-related stay!

    Extra guests beyond base price of 12 are an additional $30 each guest per night/children over 3 years old are an additional $15 per night.

    4 Night Minimum stay for Easter long weekend, Christmas and Melbourne Cup. 3 Night minimum stay at all other times.

    DISCOUNTED PRICE FOR OVER 7 NIGHTS AND MONTHLY STAYS.

    The front house is referred to as FRONT HOUSE 1. The rear house is referred to as REAR HOUSE 2.

    FRONT HOUSE 1
    4 large double bedrooms with
    2 x ensuites and 1 main bathroom.

    FRONT HOUSE 1 / BEDROOMS
    The main bedroom has a large, luxury ensuite/wet room, bedroom 3 has a small ensuite, and bedrooms 1 + 2 share a bathroom with shower, basin and WC.

    All beds are made up with beautiful high quality white cotton sheets/bedding and come with soft fluffy white towels and washers.

    Children are welcome. A wooden cot can be made up on request. High-chair and toys are supplied also.

    FRONT HOUSE 1 / THE KITCHEN
    Wonderful open-plan kitchen to cook in and stocked with all the kitchen essentials.
    SMEG 900mm wide oven/gas stove top, fridge, microwave, Nespresso coffee machine + pods, Bosch dishwasher, clever fold-out pantry, rice cooker, utensils, saucepans, fry pans etc.

    FRONT HOUSE 1 / LOUNGE AREA
    Living space with lots of wooden sash windows and double French doors which open out onto a side garden and lovely rear deck. 2 x leather lounges which seats 5, and 2 x arm chairs. Large 40" Full HDTV with FOXTEL Platinum package, WIFI/Cable Internet.

    FRONT HOUSE 1 / OUTDOOR AREA
    French doors in living area open up onto a deck, which has a Ziegler and Brown BBQ, and gorgeous leafy garden landscaped with established natives and fruit trees (olives, apple etc) and grassed areas – your own little oasis complete with a hammock and an outdoor dining table with benches and outdoor chairs to relax on.

    FRONT HOUSE 1 / HEATING + COOLING
    Hydronic heating in the bedrooms and living area makes the house lovely and toasty in winter. Air conditioner in main living area and fans in all rooms.

    FRONT HOUSE 1 / LAUNDRY
    Located at rear of front house for both houses. Access to a large commercial washing machine, portable clothes line with pegs and gas dryer.

    REAR HOUSE 2
    Architect-designed with oak floor boards, wool carpet, high ceilings, high-end finishes and fittings and a beautiful new kitchen.

    REAR HOUSE 2 / BEDROOMS
    2 bedrooms with queen beds (Bedroom 1 is upstairs, Bedrooms 2 and 3 downstairs). Bedroom 3 with 2 x single custom made wall hung beds (pics to come soon once they are installed early/mid Feb 2015). Bedrooms 2 and 3 share a bathroom.

    Top storey has the main bedroom, luxury ensuite and living area. Features amazing curved ceilings and walls, high end fittings and finishes.

    All beds made up with beautiful white cotton sheets, hotel quality pillows and luxury coverlets/bedding.

    REAR HOUSE 2 / LIVING AREA
    Surround sound system, 65" Smart TV with Foxtel Platinum package, WIFI/Cable Internet, super large comfy King Furniture lounge, custom joinery and beautiful cushions.

    REAR HOUSE 2 / KITCHEN
    Beautiful new Cantilever fridge, freezer, dishwasher, microwave, Nespresso Coffee machine and all the kitchen essentials (cutlery, dinnerware, cutlery, cups, glasses etc)

    TOILETRIES
    Organic shampoo, conditioner, face wash, hand soap, body soap and toilet paper all provided.

    ACCESS FOR REAR HOUSE 2 / OUTDOOR AREA
    Access can be via the front house or lane down side of front house. There are steps that go down into the rear property which also has a lovely landscaped courtyard area.

    GUEST ACCESS
    Guests will have access to the front and rear house. Please note; the garage area in the rear house is not currently available for guest use.

    LAUNDRY / Located at rear of front house.
    Access to large commercial washing machine, portable clothes line with pegs and gas dryer.

    FOXTEL PLATINUM PACKAGE + CABLE INTERNET
    Access for both dwellings.

    PANTRY
    Stocked with a lot of baking basics for guest use.

    INTERACTION WITH GUESTS
    Guests will be provided with a pin code for both the FRONT and REAR property entry doors. We supply you with our contact numbers in the event you need to contact us at any time. More than happy to help with any suggestions/information you may need during your stay in Melbourne!

    THE NEIGHBORHOOD
    Coburg (like any Inner Northern suburb in Melbourne) is a fantastic place to live and stay, and has really held onto a wonderful multi-cultural vibrancy - in our educated opinion, it's the side to be on! Let me humour you;

    It has the lightest, fluffiest falafel in all of Australia at one of the many reasonably priced Middle Eastern food shops.

    The Post Office Dining Hall/Cafe and Hotel (see pics at end of listing) is stylish, beautiful and just around the corner (a great place to have dinner, listen to some fantastic live music or sit in the awesome leafy beer garden with a pint.

    There is a new cafe just around the corner called 'True North' which we love and it's quintessentially 'Melbourne'.

    The 'Eastern Block' and 'East Timor' are 2 other great cafes nearby. There are new cafes popping up everywhere at the moment! The quirky Woodlands Hotel is also nearby and well worth a visit.

    And then, well Sydney Rd and Lygon street are fantastic and well worth a tram ride in when you're on your way to the city with lots of stop-off points! Be sure to visit Green – a cafe at the end of Sydney Rd in Brunswick for some amazing home-cooked goodness at cheap prices or Ray for breakfast.

    Also nearby is CERES, an environmental park with a cafe, farmers markets/stalls, a fantastic nursery and community vegie patches/initiatives.

    There is also a COBURG FARMERS MARKET. It's on every 2nd and 4th Sat of the month at Coburg North Primary School - lots of awesome produce there.
    Our neighbour, Brunswick (we are nearly on the border) is full of trendy cafes, shops, pubs, bars, restaurants, parks etc

    TRANSPORT
    Our house has excellent fast access to transport of all kinds. Firstly, trams and trains are literally just around the corner, making it super easy to get into the city or other places along the way such as Brunswick (neighbour), Melbourne uni, the hospitals, Queen Vic markets for fresh food or the Royal Melbourne Zoo!

    In addition, right behind our house is a bike track which goes into the city.


    THE LOCATION
    The house is a 1 minute walk to the nearby attractions of the vibrant, iconic Sydney Rd, 3 large supermarkets (Woolworths and 2x Coles), independent delis, butchers, fish mongers, spice shops, an abundance of delicious and cheap Turkish food, the Post Office Dining Hall/Cafe + Pub around the corner (see pics in gallery), True North, East Timor Cafe, The Eastern Block cafe, hairdressers, beauty salons, The Woodlands Hotel, parks, trains and trams.

    LOCATED BETWEEN THE CITY AND THE AIRPORT
    The house is situated ideally between the airport and the city making it a quick car/cab trip costing around $30. Quick and easy access to the CityLink, a major arterial road which skirts around the city, making it super easy to access CBD, and all sides of Melbourne.

    HOUSE RULES
    No parties or eventsCheck-in is after 3PM

    The Yellow Door has a strict 'No Smoking' policy indoors. Any evidence of smoking indoors will result in the bond being withheld.

    Please adhere to the check-in and check-out times as due to the popularity of the house we often have back to back bookings and require enough time to replenish, re-organise and clean the house.

    Early check-in and late check-outs may be possible depending on the calendar and will incur an additional cost. This house is strictly not to be used as a party house. Please do not book this house if this is your intention. Any evidence of it being used as such will result in immediate termination of the stay and the bond withheld. In staying at The Yellow Door, you agree to keep moderate noise/voice levels at all times, respect the neighbours and refrain from playing loud music at night.

    Please do not remove any shampoo, conditioner, body wash or hand soap from the property. We prefer to provide a superior product for our guests that creates less wastage, therefore any items removed will need to be paid for in full so we can replace them. Please ensure that all towels and electricals are accounted for prior to your departure as any that are missing will be deducted from your security deposit. Additionally, if you could kindly leave the TV's in the same state that you found them in (connected) - if this is not the case, it will result in a deduction from your security deposit.

Easy stay for a big family

This house is perfect if you have a big group of people! Easy, clean and all the bedrooms were generous in size so it felt comfortable with a full house!

Overall, I was pleased with my stay!

The home is a great location for public transported, supermarkets, pharmacy and restaurants, etc. I used the front and back house. The front house is a little dated. The windows and doors are old and have character, but some of the doors and windows do not seal properly which causes insects to get into the house. Also the carpet inside the front house has stains throughout the house and the carpet needs to be replaced.The back property is newer and in better condition, but there are locks on the windows and you can't let in fresh air. It becomes a bit stuffy inside the 2nd house. Also I would have loved to have instructions on how to use the thermostat and oven.

Family Xmas Holiday

Overall the Yellow Door Boutique Accommodation in Coburg is a great property for larger group stay. The layout of the 2 houses on the site allows for enjoyable communal spaces to be enjoyed by all. The mix of multiple bedrooms & bathrooms provides ample amenities. The owner/property manager attended to any request very promptly. Location very handy to transport links & local shopping area. Would recommend this property to any groups looking to holiday in Melbourne.

Great large house

Great house, had family down in Melbourne for our son 1st birthday and was great to have everyone stay in the one house. Good quick communication with owner. Lawns just needed a good mow.

Perfect property for large group. Easily slept 10 guests. Highly recommend.

Front house is lovely. Good size kitchen and facilities. Back house great for group to relax. Nice touch having Foxtel premium in both houses. Beds, rooms, and bathrooms well laid out, well stocked, all making for a very comfortable stay. Coburg may be a little far out for some, however Dan Murphy's and Woolies are nearby and suburb has it's own character, only a short train or cab to Brunswick or City. Entry is easy and extensive email with instructions and tips sent before hand. Would definitely return with a group of 8+ again.

Room for improvement

Property suited our group of 13 family members. Bedrooms a good size, living area smaller than it appeared in the photos but we managed. The heating system was inadequate and we resorted to wearing coats....didn't help that it was one of the coldest weekends in Melbourne! Some areas could do with an update...shower screen didnt close properly and the fan did not work. I have to mention the step into the main bedroom ensuite. This needs to be made safer...I actually fell and injured my foot. It needs something to make you aware of the step. Took a lot longer than expected for the security deposit to be refunded. Overall we enjoyed the stay and would recommend it.

Amazing house set up for large group

We recently stayed at this property with a group of 15 people. We do this trip yearly to work at a fitness expo and usually stay in apartments. It was so lovely to all be together in the same house. And what a beautiful property, both houses were gorgeous and Jayne the owner went out of her way to make sure we all had enough beds so i wouldn't have to book extra accommodation elsewhere. Look forward to hopefully staying again next year. Location is great, not too far from the city and Two monkeys around the corner had beautiful breakfast. Thanks again for such a comfortable and enjoyable stay!

Excellent place to stay!!

We rented both properties, staying together made our trip much more memorable as we felt like we were at home rather than a hotel room. The abundance of bathrooms and ample living space meant everyone was comfortable and relaxed. The properties location is excellent it has all the mod-cons with a very effective heating system which kept everyone’s spirits high during the cold Melbourne days and nights!! Street parking was always available. I would highly recommend these properties for those looking to have 12-16 people, you won’t be disappointed!

Beautiful property... a must stay

I stumbled across yellow door online at stayz and i am so thankful i did. This was my first time to Melbourne and my first time using yellow door and it was wonderful. Jayne went out of her way to do everything she could to accommodate our larger group. It was a perfect fit for our group and 2 x beautiful houses were so comfortable and beaufiful. We thoroughly enjoyed our time at yellow door & Melbourne. It was toasty warm even if the weather was freezing cold. I would be more than happy to recommend yellow door and will look forward to using them in the future when i go to Melbourne again. Thank you to the Jayne and the yellow door crew.

Excellent house

I stayed at the front house with my daughter and her bridesmaids, the house was clean, fresh, warm and spacious. The photographer was able to get some great shots within the property and in the yard. i stayed 3 nights, the only negative which is minor was there were not enough tea towels and I would have liked another cloth to wipe down the bench.

Beautiful home and fantastic time in Melbourne

The Yellow Door boutique was the perfect home for a friends catch up in Melbourne. The house is beautifully decorated, fresh and a great size, lots of bathrooms and added touches that made our experience an amazing one. It was so easy to get in to the city and really close to shops which was very handy. We did not want to leave the house and all wished it was our own. Thank you so much for your great hospitality and making sure we were looked after throughout the stay.

Wonderful stay
