2 Nepean Place

This is a very special property for large family/group from separate households, as it sleeps -14 ( 3 x couples, 2 rooms of 2 x king singles and 1 room x 4 x single bunks (as per photos), serviced by 3 full bathrooms (2 upstairs and 1 downstairs -can get crowded). Excellent facilities- clean, spacious and well appointed kitchen/dining/living areas including outdoor balconies, heated swimming pool, extensive games room and ball court in garden setting. Conveniently located next to Portsea Village Resort. As it is not a hotel, and due to large numbers, bring own body wash/soaps and shop for foodstuff in Sorrento (no local general store and currently no Uber eats available.) We all said we would book again for our family. Cafes and Portsea Hotel walking distance. (good food and coffee).

Great location and great facilities

Overall we were very happy but there were a couple of little disappointments; we came to attend a wedding so the absence of an iron and ironing board was both annoying and disappointing. There is also a need for some maintenance on the upstairs sliding doors which are hard to open and we were amazed that within 8 hours of arriving we ran out of toilet paper and had to go out and buy more - it seemed a little penny pinching.

Mid Week Golf Trip

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We stayed at 2 Point Nepean Rd for two nights in August as part of a boys’ mid-week golf trip. Every year we take time out from our families and young kids to catch up, have a laugh, and play a few rounds of golf. This year we chose Portsea, playing at both Portsea and Sorrento Golf Courses, and this house proved to be the perfect base.The property exceeded our expectations. Even though it was too cold to use the pool in winter, we made full use of the half basketball court and games room. I’m certain we’ll be back in the warmer months to take advantage of the pool and the home’s close proximity to Portsea front beach, which would be ideal for kids.The house itself is well set up. The kitchen is large with a new benchtop, but we opted to eat at the Portsea Pub both nights, enjoying the views over the bay—just 100m from the front door. The layout of the home is excellent, with plenty of bedrooms spread out across the property. This meant some of us could head to bed early without being disturbed by noise from the living or games rooms. It’s a great design that would also suit multiple families staying together, especially with young children who need their rest.Overall, a spacious, well-equipped house in a brilliant location—perfect for golf trips, family getaways, or a summer holiday. We’ll definitely be back.

Our “filthy” weekend in Portsea

Rating Details: The property manager was adequately helpful. The vacation rental was very dirty. I was very happy with the location. I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The house was absolutely putrid filthy, and for $3,000 a night we were heartbroken. There were spiderwebs covering all windows, the pool furniture to the point it was unusable. There was rat poo all through the pool umbrella. There was an ant infestation as well. The bathrooms and kitchen need a proper wet clean, I feel so sorry for the owners that their property is not being cared for. The pool fence is broken and non compliant. The pool was 38° in the middle of summer - awful. Majority of the lights weren’t working in all rooms. The stove igniter wasn’t working. There was a camera directly on the pool which was unexpected and creepy. The pool was disgusting and the pool cleaner was broken. The sliding doors were so poorly maintained that most of them don’t open, and when I questioned the secure electric gate at the front I was told “it needs a little help closing” ...for $3,000 a night I was disappointed, deflated and quite honestly disgusted. The location was fab but the home needs WORK and a lot of it. Also the audacity of that price and the house not being cleaned and maintained is nothing short of BS. Such a shame. We were all having a kid free weekend and it was the first time we’d all been together in over 2 years.

Reviewer Comments: - poolside furniture filthy and cobwebs all over them- all outdoor furniture had cobwebs and some even bird poo on them- BBQ not cleaned (had to clean before we used; left cleaner then it was but it’s still dirty)- outdoor patio area all dirty (had to hose off so we could walk outside and not track dirt all through the house)- pool dirty; skimmer net has holes in it so couldn’t even clean properly myself; the automatic pool cleaner also not working and no way to clean the pool myself - light not working in 2nd toilet upstairs- light above sink 2 in ensuite not working - cooling in bedroom not working - stain in entrance foyer - stains on couches upstairs and rugs

Great Family Stay

Location was perfect - Pool, table tennis and pool table made our trip and we didnt have to go too far at all. Communication was great from host. A few things: - I didnt know which button to press on the remote door remote so the gate closed on our car when i pressed the wrong one (ooops).- There were no coffee pods which seemed a little odd so we all craved coffee both mornings as we brought enough food that we would not have to drive to Sorrento. It would have been fine if we knew there were no pods and which ones it took. -it appeared that borers had eaten away at some of the kitchen windows so there were quite a few wood shavings around.In saying this we would stay again and this is feedback on how we would enjoy our stay more thoroughly next time. Thank you.

Perfect for an extended family

We are an extended family with two sets of very young kids and all the different zones meant everyone had a great time and everyone could find the space they needed. The kitchen was great and we had some wonderful meals. The location is outstanding. The games and pool and equipment meant there was never nothing to do. There are occasional little quirks with the place that never detracted from the stay and we would return again and again

They were nothing but helpful and could not have done more to ensure our stay was awesome. Then add on top the house and it was perfect for our family to use as a base for our son's wedding in Sorrento. Cant wait to find another reason to head down to this amazing property and to deal with Kate and the team at Jellis Craig.

Requires a big Clean

Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was very dirty. I was happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This has the potential to be a great short term rental however, when we stayed, the house needed a thorough once over clean. Cobwebs everywhere, dirty floors - it felt like a home that has been smashed by renters over the journey. The agent did their best to help, but the cleanliness of the property as managed by the owner is not good enough for a $1,700+ per night property. I'd avoid this place until you can be comfortable that it is going to be thoroughly cleaned. Also I'd mention that while the location is fantastic (2min walk to portsea hotel) the property is next to a vacant lot, which massive buses pull up next to, blow dust into the area you can see that has the pool and grass, and when they park close enough, people on the bus can peer over the fence when you are in the pool or upstairs on the balcony.

Perfect for us!

Rented this property for 3 nights for our sons wedding at Portsea Hotel, the property was perfect for our family, plenty of space and within walking distance to Portsea hotel.

Beach, Portsea Pub, walks, cafes etc. Also a great house to sit by the pool, bbq and have lazy afternoon cocktails. The house had everything we needed and the location was perfect, we have already discussed that we will be back to enjoy this property in the future.

Everything under one roof

This place was fantastic and had everything we needed for a large group with young kids. The outdoor area was the stand out that kept the kids (and adults) entertained. Some parts of the house was a little dated but still ok. Would recommend and stay again.
