Acerca de esta propiedad

Boutique Bunkhouse - SweetGrass Farms

  • A 50-acre farm, home to 3 horses, 2 minis, hens, dogs, a one eyed-donkey. Plus a few humans who love them all.

Enjoy all the beauty of a farm, yet 2 miles off the freeway & from wineries.

Full of charm, the 400 square-foot bunkhouse is just enough with a living room, kitchenette, bedroom and bathroom. Wood panel walls. A very comfortable queen bed with luxury linens, and the quietness a farm has to offer.

Our dogs and chickens roam free during the day, following us doing farm chores.

    The space
Welcome to The Bunkhouse at Sweet Grass Farms.

Set on our 50-acre working farm in Southern Oregon, Sweet Grass Farms is home to three horses, two miniature horses, hens, friendly farm dogs, and Jackson, our beloved one-eyed donkey—plus a few humans who adore them all.

Enjoy the beauty and peacefulness of farm life while being just two miles from the freeway, local wineries, and a short drive to Jacksonville, Ashland, and all that Southern Oregon has to offer.

Full of charm, the 400-square-foot Bunkhouse is thoughtfully designed with a cozy living room, kitchenette, separate bedroom, and private bathroom. Warm wood-paneled walls, a charming potbelly stove, an exceptionally comfortable queen bed, and the quiet of the countryside create the perfect retreat.

Guests often tell us they’re surprised by the Bunkhouse’s upscale feel and thoughtful touches. We’ve been complimented time and again on the incredible quality of sleep our guests enjoy here—the combination of a luxuriously comfortable bed, peaceful surroundings, and attention to detail creates a truly restorative stay. With extra amenities throughout, it’s the perfect getaway for two, with the option to accommodate a third guest on a comfortable air mattress.

The Bunkhouse is professionally cleaned prior to each stay and stocked with conveniences to make you feel at home. The kitchenette includes a refrigerator, microwave, toaster oven, crockpot, hot water kettle, coffee maker stocked with coffee pods, cream and sweeteners, as well as plates, glasses, silverware, a cutting board, and other essentials for preparing simple meals. You’ll also find Wi-Fi, access to Netflix, Hulu, and Prime Video, a blow dryer, steamer, luggage racks, extra linens, cozy blankets, and other thoughtful extras.

One of our guests’ favorite parts of staying here is simply exploring the farm. Wander the walking paths and open spaces while taking in beautiful mountain views in every direction. Discover a hillside dotted with majestic oaks, three hay fields, an orchard, a small vineyard, and creeks winding throughout the property. Keep an eye out for the wildlife that also calls Sweet Grass Farms home—you’ll often spot ducks, geese, songbirds, deer, and wild turkey.

Our friendly dogs roam freely during the day, happily accompanying us as we complete our farm chores. The chickens may also make an appearance as they follow along. While you’re welcome to enjoy the animals from guest areas, we kindly ask that guests do not enter fenced pastures or open gates.

Whether you’re sipping your morning coffee on the porch, exploring Southern Oregon’s wineries and outdoor adventures, or unwinding beneath a blanket of stars, The Bunkhouse offers a peaceful escape with all the comforts of home.

We can’t wait to share our little corner of Southern Oregon with you.

    Guest access
We have plenty of spaces for you to walk around and explore. Beautiful Mountain View’s surrounding you, a hillside filled with oaks, 3 hay fields, an orchard, a small vineyard and creeks running throughout. You’ll often see ducks, geese, plenty of birds, deer and wild turkey.

Our dogs roam free during the day, and one of the dogs loves to be the welcoming committee when you arrive and as you depart.

If you’d like to enjoy our animals during your stay:
    1. The horse barn is open during the day and the horses love company. You’re welcome to pet the horses if they are in there. Please don’t open any stall doors or gates.
    2. Chickens will likely come say hello as the welcoming crew. They roam from about 11am-5pm
Hillary Fluff, Henrietta, Loretta, Rosie and the leader is Chick Chick.
    3. If the horses are out to pasture, they will be behind hot wire fence. Please be cautious. You can pet them thru or over the black gates. Please don’t open gates.
    4. The donkey is Jackson. The two white minis are Henry and Hunter. The two bay horses are Kennedy and Cosmo and the Chestnut horse is April.
    5. The pig is Enzo. He lives in the barn and is very friendly. He often roams free in the afternoons.
    6. There is a 100 year old barn on property, directly across from the Bunkhouse. It’s the original homestead barn on Fern Valley for the Fern Family. We ask that you admire it from afar, we use it as storage and an office.

We produce our hay typically first week of May, early July and again late September. If you’re visiting during those times, you’ll see a lot of equipment moving in and out. There are times we are bailing our fields into the night. And during summer months there will be irrigation going thru the night.

    Other things to note
The area: situated just outside of hip, young Ashland (12 min away) established Medford (5min away) and upscale Jacksonville (20 min away) near the Rogue River (30min away). This farm is just moments away from the action, tucked into a charming stretch of pear orchards, off Fern Valley rd in Phoenix, OR. 2 miles from 3 Wineries.
