My husband and I have put our blood, sweat and tears into decorating, landscaping, and adding unique touches all our "Mad Men Vacation Rentals" properties: Mad Men Beach House in Ocean City, Maryland, Mad Men Magic Kingdom House in Kissimmee, Florida, and now Mad Men Lake House at Deep Creek Lake, in McHenry, Maryland. Carved in the quiet mountains of western Maryland, Deep Creek Lake is a unique, four-season destination. Deep Creek Lake is the largest inland body of water in the state of Maryland, covering approximately 3,900 acres and having 69 miles of shoreline. The mountain climate, usually about 10 degrees cooler than the rest of Maryland, gives our area four distinct seasons with plenty of adventure and action for each. Summer days are filled with sunshine and shimmering water as boats, jet-skis and other water-goers glide across the waters. Deep Creek Lake is a fisherman's paradise, abundant with native and stocked fish, including large and smallmouth bass, northern pike, walleye, trout, yellow perch and sunfish. The current Maryland state records for bluegill, northern pike and yellow perch were all caught in Deep Creek Lake. Come winter, the higher elevated landscape is covered in a brilliant white blanket, providing amazing skiing conditions for Wisp Ski Resort. Winter anglers can ply their skill at ice fishing! This mountainous, wooded area boasts several of Maryland's most popular state parks which offer beautiful hiking and snow-shoeing trails, a large sandy beach for swimming on the lake, or gazing at the tallest free-falling waterfall in Maryland. We're also just upstream from the famous Youghiogheny River, well-known for mind-blowing white-water rafting trips.

Mad Men Lake House is located in the prestigious "Waterside at Wisp" resort community and the name says it all. Less than 2 miles down the road from the region's best skiing at Wisp Ski Resort, we're also a lake front property with all the advantages of waterside living. It's truly the best location in all of Deep Creek Lake for your vacation! Of course, there are an assortment of restaurants and bars only a few miles away for those time you want to venture out for a night on the town!

Guests have full access to the home, deck, dock, hot tub, 2 kayaks, and one canoe. Swimming and fishing are permitted from our shared dock - fishing license required. We use the left side of the dock. Our next door neighbor uses the right side. There is room for two boats. Bath towels and linens are provided. A starter kit for paper products and trash bags is also provided.

• Guest have full access of the parking pad for 6 cars maximum. Extra parking is available at the top of the driveway as long as it is 6 feet from the road for emergency vehicles. All Wheel Drive cars are necessary in the winter months and during any snow, ice or sleet weather. All Wheel Drive is recommended all year round but defiantly necessary in the winter months. A boat trailer is considered one vehicle in the 6 car max limit.

• Family-Friendly Amenities include a booster/highchair seat, pack-and-play, some toys, Bumbo, board games and puzzles.

As you step through the front door of this 2,860 square foot home, you are immediately drawn to the beautiful sight of trees framing the lake through the gable windows and two sliding glass doors! It’s at this moment you know your much-needed vacation has officially begun! The first thing you'll want to do is go out on the spacious deck, smell the breeze and gaze down at the large lake frontage and just take in the moment. Look up and you'll see the beautiful tree tops swaying overhead, which you know will offer tranquil evenings and dining experiences for your stay. You may hear others boating on the lake, the rustling of the wind through the trees, birds chirping overhead or, just silence. But hold on - in all this listening, you're starting to hear your tummy growling as you imagine the hamburgers, steaks, chicken and veggies you can cook on the propane grill you see on the deck!

Before you head back inside, you notice the large three fingered shared dock that's ready for mooring your boat or jet ski, fishing or just taking a plunge in the lake! You also notice the TWO kayaks and one canoe ready for you to explore the lake (a very rare amenity for guests in a vacation rental). Naturally, we have two child sized and two adult sized life-vests for your safety. Then, looking below at the lower deck and back patio, there's the fire pit area which will be a place to reminisce, tell stories, and perhaps a few jokes around the fire with those you love most. But wait, there's more - a hot tub, situated perfectly on the far end of the lower deck under the stars. As you relax in the hot tub at the end of your day, you'll be delighted to see so many stars in the mountain sky for a truly peaceful experience. Also with the lower deck you have a shady place to escape the sun, a beautiful site for a modern dining experience, cozy string lights and an outdoor ping pong table for fun during the spring, summer and fall!

Now walk inside, the 65-inch smart TV with HD, Cable, DVR, ESPN, and Disney+ will be perfect to catch up on your favorite flicks after a long day on the lake or on the mountain. Or turn on some “sounds” with our record player (complete with a variety of vinyl records to enjoy) which is Bluetooth-enabled to play your own playlists from your devices! Plus, it also plays CDs and cassette tapes. The gas fireplace adds a warm and cozy feel that you can enjoy any time of year. Oh, and did I mention we have high-speed internet too? Also enjoy our fully equipped, open-concept kitchen! You'll appreciate the upscale GE Café Stainless steel appliances and gas range! We also offer a Microwave, Traditional Coffee Maker, Keurig, Toaster, Mixer, and Crock-Pot, all ready for you!

Before you know it, you're going to hear the kids running round the house checking out all our themed bedrooms. On the first floor, discover the Wisp Ski Master Suite featuring a Sterns and Foster king mattress. Complete with an en-suite bathroom with a luxurious free standing soaker tub and a separate shower. With its walk-in closet, flat screen TV and beautiful views of the lake, this is the perfect space for those who don’t want to have to traipse up and down the stairs. Also, on the first floor we have our “Camp Mad Men” room with a "tree house" bed and a bright forest scene on the surrounding walls that will help the kids imagine themselves camping in the woods. Lastly on this floor is our modern take on a fishing-themed room. Decorated with vintage fishing tackle, this room offers a Tempur-Pedic queen bed and fantastic lake view. Downstairs you'll find another master suite that has a romantic forest theme, a beautiful view of the lake and a comfy Tempur-Pedic king-sized bed. The sliding glass door provides easy access to the lower deck and patio and brings in tranquil light from the sun. Attached to this bedrooms is a private suite bathroom with standing shower. Also, downstairs is our 5th bedroom with a stunning lake view featuring a king sized Purple Mattress! This room is our modern take on a "Canoe on the Lake" room and has the closest and easiest access to the hot tub! The final bedroom is our modern take on the quintessential "Cabin in the Mountains" room with red and black plaid accents! This room features a Sealy Posturepedic king-sized bed! Downstairs also offers an extra bathroom with standing shower for convenience!

Last but certainly not least is our retro, groovy game room! The custom, 70's inspired, wrap around "SUPERGRAPHIC" wall mural sets the stage nothing but "good vibes" as you get ready to place some "fab" billiards, skee-ball (electronics dont work on the skee ball) and air hockey! The two leather couches are the perfect spot to "chill out " as you watch the 55 inch smart TV. Complete with a wet bar and a bright teal, vintage styled drink fridge that offers all the space and storage you need for your vacay needs.
