One of the attractions of this area are the bell ringers during the carnival that visit neighboring villages dressed in masks of sheepskin and with loud ringing, they are invoking fertility in late winter. Surroundings of Matulji is very interesting because in the vicinity are two mountains Učka and Ćićarija, where you can hike or ride a bike in well-maintained trails.
