Our family of 12 people had an excellent and comfortable stay at Hillcrest Ranch near Marquette. The house was spacious, clean and comfortable. The game room was amazing. The kitchen was well-stocked with appliances and dishes. We enjoyed the firepit in the back as well. There were plenty of bedsheets and towels. The bathroom was thoughtfully stocked with the "I forgot" items. Krista and Kurt were great to work with and easy to communicate with. Hillcrest Ranch is very close to many great opportunities- swimming in Lake Superior, hiking at Morgan Falls and Presque Isle Park- about 45 minutes from Pictured Rocks boat rides. The Huron Bakery was great as well as Lake Superior Smokehouse. Also, Meijer Grocery delivers to the house using Door Dash! This was our first vacation to Michigan and it is a happy memory thanks to our comfortable stay.

Family Stay

Kurt and Krista's place was perfect for our big family to all stay together. The place was clean, spacious, and the kids loved the play room! Kurt and Krista were also very responsive. Thank you for sharing your home with us!

Family get away

My wife and 4 kids, aged 7-16, stayed for nights. PROS: We loved the location, easy to get to Marquette and other sites. Kids loved the table games. Kitchen was well stocked with all kinds of utensils dishes, etc and things, like a soft-sided cooler we could bring along for picnic lunches at waterfalls. CONS: honestly not much, There are some little things that could be improved, we used the pool table a lot, and while we loved it, it was wobbly. A little more comfy seating in the main room might be nice to watch a movie together. Not sure how often lawn is mowed, but it made our croquet game adventurous! There was stand up video game that did not seem to work (plugged it in and did not see to start). OVERALL, great place, accurately described, and would definitely book again. Check out and Check in super easy and communication was very good. Would recommend for a family a friend gathering!

Beautiful home

We spent 6 days in this lovely house. We enjoyed having all the room with 6 little kids under 8. There's a game room with pool table and ping pong table. The home was very clean & decorated beautifully. They had thought of everything, down to extra toothbrushes if we forgot ours. They had setup a place for flyers of places to eat & drink. The backyard is gorgeous. It offered a wonderful to relax. The firepit area was perfect for evening smores. The home is located in a pretty area and within a short distance to hiking, shopping and restaurants. We will definitely be staying there again on our next visit to the area.

All was great. Had to change one set of sheets as there was dog hair on them. TV in bedroom did not come on. All VERY MINOR ISSUES. Great house for family. Looking to come back for snowmobiling.

Nice older.family home. Spacious layout with many bedrooms. Some items needing a little.more.TLC to keep up to date. Fix things broken, bulbs burned out. Pillows need to be replaced.and updated.

What a fantastic property and was as exactly as advertised, with plenty of room for all of us. The location was close enough to Marquette. I found it Peaceful and quiet with plenty of on-site activities for everyone such as the pool table (which got the most use), ping pong, outdoor grill, sauna, and fire pit. The kitchen has all of the supplies and made our stay very pleasant. The house was very well kept and clean. Everything we needed was provided. If you're ever heading to the Marquette area, this is a must stay!

Family birthday celebration

We stayed at this property to join a 3rd birthday celebration for a family member with several extended family members. It was close to Marquette and Munising so very convenient. The house was very clean and spacious with ample amenities for all. We enjoyed our stay and will stay here again.

NMU Granduation

Rented this house for my daughter's graduation from NMU. It was perfect for our entire family to come up and celebrate. House is well kept and spacious. Kitchen and bathrooms were well stocked with necessary items.

Second stay, and we will be back!

My family loves this house. The location is convenient. The house is so comfortable. And the sauna, pool table, ping pong, and foosball make it such an enjoyable place for everyone to stay. We have stayed here twice now, and wouldn’t hesitate to come back again.

Great spot for that Greywalls golf getaway

Overall, this property has everything you need for a large group to have a comfortable stay. I brought up a group of 8 guys ranging in age of 42-74. All of us were able to have our own bed and we slept very comfortable. The living space in the home was awesome. We tended to be in the bar area playing pool or the kitchen area playing poker. All of the guys agreed that this was a nice find for our stay. I would definitely recommend staying here to anyone with a larger group coming to the area. Greywalls is a beast by the way.

Vacation before school

The VBRO pic is now removed showing a game room with 3 games being a BIG reason we rented with teenagers and 2 of their high school friends as a trade off being a min of 1 1/2 hours away from our planned daily destinations. We looked to book fun things to keep teens occupied in the evenings when we returned. There is nothing in that location near by. Of the 3 games that were pictured in that room only 1 was their -ping pong. I contacted the property manager and the NEXT day another game was brought in. We were told the air hockey is broke. It never came. Most of the bedroom windows were sealed shut and couldn’t be opened, air conditioning is a wall unit not in bedrooms. The day we swam in Lake Superior it dropped to low 60s that evening and the house thermostat is locked shut! I’m not sure this is legal. The property manager said the owner would come as allegedly he lives close by but then said he wasn’t coming. He owns and operates a landscape business right next door with a business drive through the property fortunately we didn’t see that drive being used during our stay. The house is on a busy highway, noisy trucks all night and scary for us as pet owners even using harness and leashes. Had I know these circumstances we would have booked elsewhere.

Perfect House for Our Family!

We had a wedding in the area and this property was perfect for our stay. We spent a lot of time in the backyard playing outdoor games. Plenty of bedrooms and space for indoor activities. We utilized the indoor game rooms. We did blow a fuse while prepping for the wedding and the owners were very responsive in taking care of the issue. We have our own VRBO location in SW Michigan and we highly recommend this home in the U.P.
