  • Welcome to The Drift House - a beautiful retreat on the Staffordshire/Shropshire border! Overlooking the mill pool and farmland, this tastefully refurbished 300sqm converted barn offers a serene escape. Conveniently close to the M6, it’s a perfect base for exploring. With five en-suite bedrooms, it’s ideal for families or groups of up to ten. Enjoy stunning views, peaceful surroundings, and modern conveniences, including an EV charger. The perfect setting for a relaxing countryside getaway!

    As soon as you enter the Drift House you will notice the attention to detail on this lovingly restored Barn.

    Once used for cows to drift in and out of, it is now a stunning home with all of the modern conveniences, highlighting the features such as the original beams, as well as being eco-friendly with its own EV Charger - this is untethered.

    The Drift House is the perfect place for families, friends and colleagues to get together and take in the views, each having their own bathroom, the height of luxury.

    - Sleeping Arrangements -
    Bedroom 1: Is on the ground floor and has a zip-link bed, either two singles or a super-king.
    There is a baby changing unit in the bedroom.

    The bed will be made up as a superking by default. If you would like two single beds, please let us know at least 48 hours ahead of your booking so that we can make that happen for you. There is an ensuite with a shower, sink, and WC.

    There is a double sofa bed and 2 single day beds that push together as a double to help allow the property to host 14 guests

    Bedroom 2 is on the ground floor and has a double bed. The ensuite has a shower, sink, and WC.
    Bedroom 3 Is on the ground floor and has two single beds. Next door is the bathroom with a large shower, WC
    and sink.

    - Upstairs bedrooms -

    Bedroom 4 Is on the first floor and has a small set of stairs in the bedroom.
    There is a double bed and a small ensuite with a shower, WC, and sink.

    Bedroom 5: Is on the first floor and has a double bed and an ensuite bathroom with a bath, separate shower, WC, and sink.

    There is also a daybed in this room suitable for 2 small children with an additional fee of £15 for the linen. We have 2 high chairs available for seating around the dining table - please advise on booking if this is required, so we can provide linen

    Fresh white bed linen and towels are provided (one bath sheet and one hand towel per person), all hotel-quality for your comfort.

    Enjoy toiletries, along with a complimentary tea/coffee pack, dishwashing and detergent packs, toilet roll, and kitchen roll - enough to last a couple of days. Need to stock up? You'll find plenty of local shops and supermarkets just a 2-to 10-minute drive away for all your essentials.

    - Features & Amenities -
    There is a large vaulted entertaining kitchen with a large dining table, where 14 people can comfortably enjoy socialising around.

    - We have the option to extend the table and add extra seating for up to 20 people if you are having additional guests for an evening - please enquire on booking, we can help with this

    The kitchen itself is a joy to cook in and features many, if not, all of the amenities you will need during your stay.

    This includes large appliances such as a range cooker, dishwasher, fridge freezer, and a Belfast sink. For moments less formal, guests can relax at the breakfast bar with high stools. For your convenience, there is a washing machine should you need to do any washing during your stay.

    Throughout the property, you can benefit from underfloor heating, which is controlled by a thermostat in each room for your comfort. This is powered by an eco-friendly air source heat pump.

    The lounge can comfortably seat 14 people and was designed to be a relaxing, entertaining space. Guests will find a 55” TV, a PS4, and a selection of games to enjoy.

    For those looking for a moment of calm, you can indulge yourself in the snug, with fabulous views overlooking the countryside, where you can open up the patio doors; it's a peaceful place to be.

    - Outdoor Highlights -
    Garden, Patio & Courtyard: We are fortunate to have several places outdoors where you're able to unwind, relax, or simply spend time with one another.

    Fishing Pond: The Mill pond is 60m across and is available for licensed fishing enthusiasts, and it is possible to walk around the pond. It can be a great spot to see local wildlife and birds too!
    Stargazing: Being out in the countryside means we have minimal light pollution, and on clear nights, The Drift House can provide the perfect location to take a moment to stargaze.
    In the warmer weather, we have a BBQ available with some coals to get you started

    - Convenience & Access -
    There is parking for 5 cars in the undercover parking area close to the barn.

    - Dogs & PETS -
    - A maximum of two dogs are welcome, and we kindly ask that they be kept downstairs and not in carpeted rooms. £20 per dog, per stay.

    Guests will have access to the whole barn.

    There is a contained grass area at the back, care should be taken that dogs do not enter the fields, especially when there are sheep in them.

    • Access to the pool area is through a farm gate to the right of the property. Please note that guests at the Drift House are not able to access the farmhouse and should respect their privacy by not entering their gated drive or garden. Please respect the signs. As the farmhouse is private, this does mean that other people not included in your booking will be on site and accessing the pool area.

    • You should not enter the fields, and please do not feed the animals. Dogs should be kept on leads. The animals’ owners are local and any issues should be reported to your contact number in the first instance.

    • Swimming is not permitted in the water. Children should be supervised at all times.

    • The base of the pool is uneven and although it may look shallow in areas there are deep parts. The area next to the waterfall area is fenced off and should not be accessed. Two life buoy rings are placed around the pool and should only be used in an emergency.

    • For your safety and security, cameras are on the garages and the field. Throughout the week our maintenance team will be working on the outside of the property or the other properties on site. They will not access your holiday let, unless we have made contact with the lead booker prior to the visit.

    The EV Charger is untethered, you will need to bring your own charging cable.

    Pass the Keys® provides a hotel standard of service for short-let properties. The property is professionally maintained and cleaned, and professionally cleaned linens and toiletries are guaranteed. 24/7 guest support is also available before and during your stay.
    The local community-based Pass the Keys® team personally inspects the property and certifies the home has met Pass the Keys® Property Readiness Standard.

    IMPORTANT: On behalf of our host at Pass the Keys, we require guest verification facilitated by Truvi (Previously called Superhog). Upon confirming your booking, Truvi will contact the lead booker via a secure link, providing detailed instructions for the verification process.

    The online verification requires a government-issued photo ID and a credit or debit card. During this process, you may choose between a refundable GBP 500 deposit (plus GBP 10 transaction fee currency equivalent) or purchase a non-refundable damage waiver of GBP 40 (currency equivalent) to cover potential damages during your stay.

    Once the verification process is successfully completed, check-in information will be provided. If you opted in for a deposit, this will be refunded via credit/debit card after your stay, subject to an inspection of the property.
